Warmed my heart seeing that you honestly believed my Colts would pull ahead of Cavies. Hopefully they do by the end of the season! only 1.325 to go, not the scariest margin in the world to overcome in 3 weeks time! Especially when the majority of that 1.3 points comes from only a select couple of captions. .7 difference in Vis Analysis alone. .625 in MUSIC analysis alone. and then half a point difference in the perc obviously... funnily enough, total music was only a margin of .525 - still have 0 clue where that score comes from, but you will never hear me complain about it lmao. but if i learned anything from last season, Colts music ensemble is gonna wait till literally finals weekend before finally cracking down and clicking together, and hopefully that happens this season too, with the Music caption being the largest gaps between them and the cavies, and the SMALLEST difference between them and the blue stars! (would be cool to eventually topple blue stars in music by finals but i personally dont see it happening) very exciting night in SA last night - this season so far has been the most excited i have been for a season of drum corps in a very, very long time!
All the ratings in the world can’t affect the crowd love. I was at the dome….Phantom stole the show hands down. 1st place didn’t even get a standing O like PR did. Even non PR fans were up for 2+ minutes cheering. It was electric in there during that whole performance.
Scouts woke up the house and got everyone out of their seats. From their show to Phantom it was a snooze as not one corp did anything original or with any energy. Sorry Troopers, like the show but it is just one long, same thing over and over. As to Colts, having 30 props doesn't make GE, you have to integrate those props into the show and Madison keeps gaining on them in Brass. It wasn't until Phantom came out was there anything to drive people out of their seats other than a general appreciation for the work these kids are doing.
There should be a live venue fan vote that is weighted with GE. One caption shouldn’t be a deciding factor and then GE is only relative to the performance itself not theses judges preferences. I have been saying for years they need a fan vote weighted into one or all of the categories/captions! PLEASE FIX THIS DCI!!! Enough already! The shows that have won the last 5 years have not always been the best or best executed shows!!!😮
I’m sorry to say this bit I just fell in love with you! Too much fun! I’m color guard that plays euphonium, you are Mr. Music. Please explain why Crown is not in 3rd place in Music. I just saw BD playing very well, but when I heard any Corps’ intricate music passages with double, triple, tongue breaking playing, I look to see if they are moving (drill) or stand and play. BD is stand and play. I’m not even going to touch percussion because all I know is if they sound like one player and they look good. I’m not a good judge for percussion. But I know music pretty well (… not compared to you…) that is why I would like your thoughts on the top 4 in music with 5th knocking on the door. And yes, I’m old and do not like electronic/guitars on the CORPS fields. Bluecoats’ show depends on electronics. I don’t believe they would be sitting where they are without them. And I’m again apologize, I don’t much care for esoteric shows like BD’s. What’s up with the colorful horses? What do they have to do with “Romantics?” It’s like when they did Gaslight or Stagelight or whatever you choose to call it. If you are not familiar with stage acting (which I am,) people are going, “huh?!” I also know where they got the shoe tapping inspiration from. And this year with “Glitch,” I don’t see glitches which could have been written in the show. I get the colors, but they should be in flashes of colors at different rhythmic times… glitching. I know it all comes down to taste. But knowing the WGI sheets as well as I do, I don’t see new artistic, inventive concepts that would reach box 5. I guess that’s why I’m a better downstairs judge, I guess!
I don't know for sure, but I think it's a dig at the show itself, meaning it's more like what a high school band would perform at a BOA contest. And if you're not familiar with it, BOA stands for Bands of America. You can find a lot of videos on RU-vid.
The best BOA band show? Come on you lost all credibility. And you think 05 Cadets was just a BOA band show? Omg whatever you judge I can only imagine your numbers and comments are awful.
@@GeneralEffectMedia No I am not. And if you are going to try to educate me on how that show was a test show for the 2005 show in a way that is not insulting to The Cadets I don’t buy it. Your tone and attitude in calling that 2005 show and the 2011 shows BOA was clearly an attempt to put those shows and their designers down. Just admit that and don’t try to back off your apparent dislike for The Cadets.
@@GeneralEffectMedia also if you want to go down the road of calling a particular corps’ show BOA or something then please don’t forget that most of what these designers do is based on a show they previously did either at a marching band or WGI. So I trust you will equally call that out and criticize them right? I mean come on. The Boston show is nothing but bits and pieces from Carolina Crown designs and drill and those uniforms and a straight out copy of Crown.
