I used to watch Jonathan Pie videos because they're funny but now I watch them because they prove that a comedian has a better grasp of the state of the economy than the people in charge of it
Pie doesn't have a better grasp of the economy than the people in charge of it, he just isn't lying to you about it. Those in charge know why it's fucked, they just won't admit it.
They should be banned - the Conservative & Unionist Party should be a proscribed organisation as they are a serious threat to the vast majority of people in this country. They'd just go and join the Reform lot though - or keep forming new vile parties.
@@earnestequivocation6250 Sunak could walk down Grosvenor Ave. and burn 50 pound notes in the faces of a bunch of homeless people and it wouldn't affect how the Tories vote. Just look at Blo Jo.
FYI We did not elect the last 3 prime ministers in charge. Not sure about Boris But we didn't vote for Theresa May We didn't vote for crazy blonde lady. We did not VOTE for I'm very Rich Rishi SUNAK.. England 🏴 GET OF YOUR LAZY FKIN ARSE AND VOTE.
Strongly disagree, any party in power for too long like the current Conservative government gets complacent and just takes the money for sitting on their bottoms.. If I had any say I'd impose a max time in power rule before a switch to another party was imposed. Or perhaps an if you are useless you go straight away rule, that should put the cat among the pigeons.
@@st200ol not even remotely possible to implement, imagine having 10 years of the best government youve ever seen just to have it replaced by the "other party" and an absolute shambles of a government because you left a silly youtube comment Its the pary, its nothing to do with time in office, the conservatives are complacent by nature
If the Tories were investigated by the fraud squad I would think many of there ministers would be imprisoned or indeed should be. Keep up the brilliant work Jonathan speaking the truth.
They attack the very foundation and fabric of law so i saw in their supposed discussions of possible bills, they are criminally minded, it's utter chaos, they have to get voted out, no doubt about it they have to go. Plus the list should include all the deceit that came from this Tory government. Seriously they have to get out.
I have to say that 4 minute speech by Jonathan made more sense than one hour of the pointless bickering between the two main Party leaders last night. Factually correct in all its details, there really is no money left. The likes of the dodgy PPE suppliers, the expensive Track & Trace system during Covid, the likes of Sunak making money out of taxpayers' losses, the Liz Truss 49 day disaster, her Chancellor who was effectively fined by HMRC for not paying enough tax, the list is almost endless. But the last comment, the simple fact there really is no money left now, is the truest fact of all. God Help whoever has to sort out this dreadful mess An excellent post by Mr Pie, I hope to hear more of the same over the next few weeks.
@@joer3720He still is and he's a regular on the comedy circuit. His standup is reasonably good. His YT videos are better but still, he's worth seeing live at least once. It's basically just Tom Walker ranting as Pie for an hour.
Unlike most politicians and political commentators, he's actually factually 100% correct in all his assertions made. Obviously he has no chance of making a career in politics.
@@NewRetroRepair And having seen him in London two months ago, I can tell you he's even better than on these videos which are brilliant enough as it is.
It goes without saying that they'd be the most watched debates in the history of politics and television. Oh...the evisssssseration! It'd probably need an R rating...Alien Romulus would have nothing on it.
@@misslanapaulford As Pie mentioned what Labour did invest money in the country between 2001 - 2010 = health, welfare, social programs. They wouldn't have flown out of the country with their mistress when the country was under a state of emergency and needed the leader there. (Boris) They wouldn't have left millions to die by tossing our stock of PPE over to Asia first. So, so many things, it's not just the party but mainly the worst possible human we could have had as the leader to entrust the lives of 63 million people to... The rage since 2016 (brexit) is unreal, never want Tories back again, upper class bunch of spineless twats.
American here. I like that the rule of thumb for lowercase conservatives here works equally well for your uppercase Conservatives over there: if they're accusing the opposition of something, it's because conservatives did it themselves and are projecting the blame onto everyone else and hoping nobody thinks too hard or looks too closely at their actual record.
People on the right don't fact check, and if you hit them with facts they just deny them or ignore them. Conservatives (both upper and lower case) have a mass mental illness that allows them to believe whatever they chose to believe.
Not only is Sunak lying about Labour crashing the economy, Sunak himself played a personal role in causing the global financial crash, by being part of a team that caused ABN Amro to go into liquidation, and facilitating a deal for RBS to buy ABN Amro. This was the first part of the chain of events that caused RBS to go tits up, forcing the then Labour government to bail them out... EDIT: Posted before I'd watched the whole video. Mr Pie does a fine job of mentioning this in the video
How Sunak got a multi-million pound bonuses as one of the Financial Directors when RBS went bankrupt is literally beyond me - what objectives did he halve to achieve to warrant this? Then to add insult to damage he goes on to be made Chancellor of the Exchequer with a failed background before becoming a token PM and sacrificial lamb for 14 years of economic mismanagement, destroying the NHS and allowing privatised companies ruij]n our waterways with sewage as raw as the crap that comes out of his mouth when not awarding govt contracts to companies his wife or daddy in law are in charge of. But he has at least three passports to bail out of the country when he is flushed down the toilet.
Tbh this vid makes me completely lose respect for Pie. Trying to say sunak has more blame for the 08 crash than Labour, which was the government in charge at the time and who deliberately went light touch on the finance sector in the previous 11 years? What a pathetic partisan stretch
Bloody hell, an election-related broadcast that I actually want to hear. The only problem with JP is that I never know whether to laugh or cry. Yes, he's always damn funny, but he's also always very, very right about the fuster-cluck we laughingly call 'parliament'. I know the red-faced anger is all part of the act, but it also reflects the hell of a lot of red-faced angry voters who are out there at the moment, me included.
Don't forget expats. The cluck was fustered a long time ago when Tories realised that UK's further education had become *_their_* existential threat. (Selsdon Committee).
I left my home country many years ago because of this... Politicians are more or less equally bad everywhere but it's a lot easier to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ when it's not your own country
I have never clicked fast enough on a video than when I see Jonathan Pie in my RU-vid feed. The man, the myth, the legend that brings common sense to the people of Britain. God bless you Mr Pie, keep up the good work. 👍👍☺️
This man is a machine, having seeing him at Birmingham front row....he hardly drew breath....👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Tom & James O'brien are my ultimate crushes xxx
James o biased....😂😂😂 he's a narcissistic disingenuous bully who's only in control when he's actually in control of the volume and dump button to squash callers who can argue his extreme nonsense, and his very obsessed weird lbc followers lap it up pretend ding he's intelligent!
@@catlee8064 Whataboutism is not a valid argument. Besides Blair helped destroy Iraq while the tories are destroying the UK. I think even you can tell the difference. The tories inept handling of covid led to 160000 unnecessary deaths and their 'reform' of DLA to 180000 premature deaths. They basically killed 340000 UK citizens.
Good luck to you, your great Nation needs better than Donald Trump, unfortunately Nations have people who dont take enough interest in politics, they just listen to sound bites and think that's it 🤦, anyway good luck to honest and law abiding America's. Muchos Besos de Espaina. 🇪🇸
@@Timlagor Please, please, pleeeeeaase don't let the average English voter be that stupid. Let the fact this is hitting them in the wallet be the thing they can't ignore for this election and for them to blame the Tories, who are rightly to blame for it and then nail the Tories to the wall for it.
The only people I've seen comfortably limbo below the bar set by the Tories are other Tories. Boris Johnson set a bar so low no one thought it could get lower, then comes Liz Truss who shows everyone that bar might as well have been as high as the moon.
Labour have always been an improvement. The late 90s to mid 2000s were genuinely the healthiest and happiest the country had been. Everything just worked. Yes, we had a little national debt, but what country doesn't? Now that debt has more than tripled despite endless cuts, frozen pay, increased taxes, and increasing prices of everything we need to survive, and that was all before 2018.
@@peterrenn6341 reform don't have enough people to have enough seats to do anything. It's a wasted vote. But those who would do it aren't bright enough to understand that.
@tonyduncan9852 trumps 4 year term as president was 4 of the best years america has had in a long time, also no wars ever happened under his command, TRUMP for PRESIDENT M.A.G.A.
He said a lot of this in his live shows and I'm glad he is repeating it on RU-vid. A bigger audience needs to see this stuff. I left his show dumfounded at what I learnt. Bravo Mr Pie.
The news we need, sadly the mainstream don't actually practice any investigative journalism and present what is actually going on and holding public figure's feet to the fire over their responses.
Actually the BBC is great at investigative journalism. Why just the other day I saw an article about how Mr Beast had overtaken some other youtuber in subscriber counts! Truly top notch journalism.
That'll be thanks to the hold that Murdoch and the Tories have over most "news" media. They either avoid or spin anything to do with Tory mistakes, and only shun Labour, Green etc. for anything they do wrong. ... Always analyse sources.
Nearly all the biggest stories are uncovered by the mainstream media. Watergate was uncovered by Woodward and Bernstein. The clerical abuse scandal in Boston was uncovered by the Boston Globe. The Post Office Horizon/Fujitsu scandal came to light thanks to a journalist on Computer Weekly and the Private Eye team.
The irony of being recommended a Good Morning Britain tripe fest of a video for how Reform UK are 'simply too strong!'. Turds, the lot of them, all complicit in this country going down the drain. Its true that comedians now have a better grasp on reality, as what was once satire swans over into reality. Jonathan Pie out here doing a better job than anyone else!
That is so true. The likes of Johnson and Trump as heads of State signalled the death of satire and former satirists are now the real political commentators.
These videos need to be shared far and wide. Every single one of us needs to take personal responsibility for sharing these with everyone that they know.
Haven't they had 14 years though to fix things so that they can only get better? (Commenting while remembering the good old days of 2010 fondly, 2 years after the crash of 2008, just before the Tories got in, to mentally escape the dystopia of 2024...).
…..shhhh, our Tory MP is actually pretty good but I think he is in a very very small minority. If Labour bothered to field a candidate here they would get my vote, but if not, then……..
@NH00531 your 'pretty good' MP will have voted for every tory catastrophe, including the lettuce's budget, cutting benefits for the poor, and the ridiculous Rwanda bill. There is no such thing as a pretty good tory.
I love that the truth comes from a comedian. Crazy that the guise of satire hits the nail on the head with every single skit. This man is a hero. Our government (regardless of the party) are lying sacks of entitled garbage with no concept of what it is like to be working class.
@@mydogeatspuke Do you realise that Jonathan Pie is a fictional character and that he is played by comedian Tom Walker, or are you just trolling us with your comment?
@@stephengraham1153 do you realise that I was talking about the general election, not the (obvious) character, or were you dropped on your head as an infant?
I suggest you provide a greater level of clarity in your comments. "It's" could have referred to the video, Jonathan Pie's performance in addition to the General Election. I would also suggest that you keep your rude insults to yourself.
Good to see Jonathan Pie back, hopefully we’ll get more of these insightful videos over the coming days. Someone needs to hold these criminals to account.
Then the Tories in opposition will shout "Look , labour have been in power for a year and nothing has improved, they are useless" and the people will fall for it again.
Mr Pie, we **need** you in parliament. The country **needs** to see them squirm when you say this to their faces. I genuinely cannot think of one single thing that would do us all more good.
I've been singing and playing Guitar now for sixty two years, and I'm telling you, that this is one hell of a great voice, the Falsetto is as powerfull as the gut voice. I really enjoyed it.
The truth is Labour did far more privatisation than the tories did through their PPP and PFI contracts. Everything from hospitals to car parks, schools to prisons and libraries were privatised under Labour. Well not exactly privatised, see the government sold the land and buildings, outsourced the cleaning and maintenance, outsourced our IT systems, HR systems, sold everything right down to the staff canteen. But kept the front of house staff, kept the management structures. So now we are stuck paying increasing rental obligations for buildings that are falling to pieces due to 0 maintenance investment and paying services contracts worth billions to companies like Mitie to send a minimum wage foreign worker round each night with a bucket and mop, having received no training for working in the specific environment in which they routinely work. It was Labour that sold off our public sector, it's been the tories that have increased public spending and increased the size of government. Now we face an election with Labour promising austerity and the Tories promising more spending. This whole government is a joke. We are not a serious country anymore, we are a glorified retirement village.
