Honestly, I think 2023 was my favorite year for fashion trends. My style has evolved more than ever and I’ve never felt more comfortable in my skin. I loved it all
Absolutely !! We’ve seen soooooo many different styles and ways of wearing clothes that there isn’t a ‘wrong’ way of styling anymore :D something that would be seen as uncool a couple of years ago is just quirky now and I love that :)))
I love that you mention you’re sticking with baggy and not going with skinny jeans even if it’s trending! I think people forget you can fully appreciate and love trends without participating in them 🫶🏻 I think (and really hope) conscious consumption will trend too!
yes yes yes pls !! you are so right and I absolutely couldn't agree more ! whilst I try my hardest to steer clear of fast fashion, we should stop demonising fast fashion for the problems that over consumption is responsible for.xxxx
Seriously makes me extremely happy when you pop up in my feed with a new video! Not only are you so enjoyable to watch and your opinions are 👩🍳💋, but your voice is very soothing… at least it is to me! Cheers to you Ash and we all look forward to your content and growth in 2024!!
I totally agree with blue being more prominent! I only wear black/grey/dark brown and I like how similar blue is to grey,, I have a couple neutral pieces that incorporate a faint blue (that doesn’t feel like I’m wearing color even though I am).
i find that lately i've been incorporating more blue in my outfits and accessories and kinda treating it like how i do with neutral/monochrome colours instead of looking at it as a colour from the rainbow. but i don't think im ready to let go with the mermaid core and ribbon trend bc it kind of ties so nicely with the blue trend too :') anyways, im def looking forward to the 2024 trends
ah yes you are so right !! I think once the people who just wore bows bc it was a trend stop wearing them, bows will be cute again bc we will only be seeing it in people who have adopted it as part of their own personal style - I really hope you keep wearing bows and mermaid core bc it sounds like you've found it suits your personal style :Ddxxxxx
Certain silhouettes just look better with skinny jeans, especially in the colder months. Glad to be counterculture with my stack of slim cuts until they’re back en vogue!
baggy jeans and skinny jeans! can always have both! i feel like im always leaning towards needing a good pair of skinny jeans when fall/winter rolls around and my fall boots are sitting there haha
YESSS finally, and I totally agree with the shoulder pads predictions they are so powerful and can be done tastefully. I think overall 2024 is about looking powerful but also minimalistic with the rise of "quiet luxury" I definitely see the Saint Laurent inspo with this prediction the. Saint Laurent | Fall Winter 2023/2024 they have so many blazers with ofc overemphasized shoulders but i can see day to day people rock it (obv not as dramatic)
Ah pls youre going to look so hottttt!! Couldn’t agree with you more oh my, powerful is defffff the word I would use to describe what I think 2024 will be
Totally agree about blue! I think the popularity of navy in the last two years (especially from old money style) and tonal dressing have had that pretty light blue start to creep in more and more
Yes yes yes! Completely agree with your predictions on sihlouette- i've already been gravitating towards big shouldered tops, waist accentuation, and looking at straight cut/bootcut trousers!
This is the first of your videos that I watch, I think you’re so gorgeous, your vibe is everything, and for a non native speaker your accent gives sparkly feelings ✨
I think some would argue that skinny jeans never left...though they have received a lot of hate, as you said. But some have argued that skinny jeans are just a basic category at this point. And since many people just feel they look terrible in wide-leg jeans, yeah...I get it. I am partial to a "cigarette pant"--is that what they're called? ala Audrey Hepburn. Not necessarily for jeans, but for plaid pants and wool pants--def it's a cute, classic silhouette. And wide-leg, palazzo pants are good for the hot months, imo.
The flared sleeves you mentioned have actually been something I've been obsessed with & seeing in some brands I love like realisation par, reformation, & amoy new york. does anyone know where you can find more affordable alternatives?
ah thank you!! lil fan girl moment bc I watched your video the other day n fell in love :D:D pls you are sUcHhhHhh a fairy pls keep the bob n pls know you have a follower over here too hehe xxxxxx
The colour thing was so funny to me! Because I had just done my hair a light copper and fell in love with it, finding my forever favourite. And I was going to start sewing with that greyish silvery blue and that powder blues and such and tie porcelain blues into my room. And as of this past 6 months ive been looking and buying and obsessed now with an adult figure the fitted top for females. Fitted long sleeves and things are amazing without the drop seam. It just wasnt something in style for our generation really . I mean im 27 soon. But to re-explore these silhouettes on a mature body has changed my perspective a lot. I also stick to a straight fit or a slim to flare. Mid rise or lower. Looks best on my height. We may not see what you predicted, but it definitely has been seen in my closet. Although most likely not the skinny jeans unless I go towards a more slp look with it in the future.
ah I love your message so much ! so interesting to read about how trends actually exist in real life hahaha im so with you on the slim and flare fits, they feel dressier to me than a wide leg . I hope you have a lovely evening xxxxx
@ash.callaghan you aswell! Look forward to every video, really enjoy seeing and listening to someone fresh on all these things. Regardless if it is not news to me. I really enjoy listening and hearing plausible new points or views on it. Cannot deny I feel spoiled with how often you upload currently. Extremely lovely listening. And I agree, it is dressier, but that is most likely the reason I adore it so often in my wardrobe.
Elle you are the absolutest cutest person ever! Seeing as you started posting recently, your channels doing brilliantly! Cant wait to see how far you get 🥰 Also you’re videos are really intriguing to watch, quite relaxing too!
Got v excited when I saw your video pop up in my feed! I feel like I’ve been seeing the same old stuff in trend videos and this video feels so fresh and new! Love it❤️
Eeeee yes I couldn’t agree more and pls I ac can’t wait !! It is so much more up my alley than piling on every item we own in our wardrobe every time we want to go out hahaaa :D im so grateful that 2023 has made every outfit wearable but I’m looking forward to 2024 and seeing how the maximalist gals respond :)))
thank you so much Andreea !! love seeing your lil messages on all my videos thank you so much for such big love :') I hope you have the best day too xxxxxx
thank you :D:D the label says primark but I got it from a charity shop so im not sure if it is current season and still in stores :( I recommend trying vinted or depop if you want to find the exact one bc idk what year its from :))) I hope you have a lovely day xxxxx
ill pass on the skinny jeans. then and now. I am happy to do a straight leg, flare, more fitted through the hip and thigh and wider from the calf down (my preferred, usually), but no to the skinny. y'all have fun with that though LOL and maybe (showing my age here!) because I was around in the 80s... also not doing shoulder pads. Even though I was a kid then.... once was actually enough for that one ;)
I also think skinny jeans are coming back, and I'm here for it honestly, since baggy jeans don't look good on me. I also really hope you're right about shoulder pads, they look so good in my opinion and already have some pieces like that. Love your channel, became a fan very recently
Definitely there for "normal" belts. I personally don’t think sambas will be as big next year as they were 2022/23, just look at what happened to nike dunks. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re going to see things that were so hated on a few years ago/for a few years like the side part, skinny jeans and adidas superstars slowly becoming popular again the next years.
eee couldn't agree with you more !!:D pls I want a pair of superstars so bad oh my, I used to have a pair back 10 years ago or something and wore them until they disintegrated ahaha
I think it would be cool to look at fashion in terms of a revolving 3 years or even every 5… instead of a new year new year new year because that doesn’t make sense to me for it to go that fast. Also who is the “we” you are speaking of? Pinterest 20 year olds? Maybe think about it in a different way . I love your videos and your perspective I just like to blow peoples minds sometimes 😏
ooo interesting ! thank you so much for your message :)) I think your idea is brilliant, I guess we can normally pin point trends from decades in the past rather than specific years (e.g shoulder pads from the 80s) but now in the age of TikTok and other social media trend cycles are so SO fast and something considered really trendy at the beginning of the year will be completely outdated even by the end of the year! I loved your message, it made me think hahah xxxx
I got it from the charity shop so Im pretty sure you won't be able to buy it in stores anymore :( but the label is primark! I would recommend searching vinted for it if you would like the exact same one :DDD
Eeee thank you !! I use elf pinkies up lip stain :)) but tbh it’s basically all gone so idk how much I’m ac wearing hehehehe I really want the benetint for Crimbo though !!!!
I have to disagree with the corset/waist aspect, that feels very 2018-2020 to me. Trends focused on creating a small waist like corsets, crop tops, high waist pants or even like BBLs have become more outdated and so I don’t think we’d see a resurrection of the waist focused clothing
interesting opinion ! I think in 2024 we will be wearing more fitted clothing and creating shape with clothing more than we have in 2023, I think specifically we will be doing this using clothes rather than the body, which I think is what differentiates it from the recent crop top trends. for example I think in 2024 we'll have belts tied at the waist rather than the hip, blazers buttoned at the waist, exaggeration of the shoulders and hips which all create an illusion of a slimmer waist rather than just having our breakfast hanging over our jeans in a tiny crop top hahaha. Thank you so much for your message I love the differing of opinion !xxxxx
the label says primark but I got it from the charity shop so I am not sure if it is still sold in store bc idk what season its from :( id recommend searching vinted if you want to find the exact same bc it doesn't matter if its current or not !! hope that helps !!:D
aaah im sorry hahahaha :') I tried to say that I didn't mean the jegging type ones n meant more of a straight leg but maybe should have made it more obvious hahaha xxxx
the label says primark but I got it from a charity shop so im not sure if you can buy it in store anymore as im not sure if it is current season or not :( if you want to find the exact same one id recommend searching in vinted as it doesn't matter what season its from ! :D
im British :D id love to hear your opinions ! I should make another video for the southern hemisphere girlies bc we are in winter over here n even in summer I still wear coats and vests hahaha :D have a lovely day xxxxx
I agree sm with blue since the pastel blue eyeshadow that we also saw on iris law went so viral (tbh I am sometimes unsure if something really went viral or if it is just in my fashion bubble and no one knows about it) ❄🫐🩵💠🧿🫧
