@@NorthernSkiAndCycleinteresting enough with inflation those prices would be about high 50s to low 60s today anyways. Problem is most peoples income has not grown that same way 🤣
I see these everywhere here in South Africa, people love the American experience that the Raptor offers seeing as we dont get large trucks in our country. They've become quite popular and are accessible to alot of the middle class.
I have one here in New Zealand, and i love it, its such a grouse truck, fantastic long distance truck, it eats up the miles, and super fun in the rain on tarmac too,
@@morstyrannis1951 you might get through it in a FWD sedan but you will get through it faster and more comfortably in this truck. It's like saying "I could build that house with old hand tools!" Sure, you could - but you'll be getting it done a whole lot easier with the right power tools.
@@morstyrannis1951 Ford is getting press drivers, people who aren't used of actual challenging off-roading, to showcase this vehicle. Of course its gonna be easier. But a small sedan won't do the speed and be as comfortable doing it. Some of those jumps that Raptor was doing was easily 3 feet or more off the ground, and to land without breaking it or hurting the driver at all, that's impressive. Edit: I forgot the biggest difference - Ford is liable for anyone who gets hurt at the event. So of course they're not gonna get them to do anything more.
My mate had his ecu tuned and the car was spitting 370 kws and 800nm of torque which is insane for a truck Wish we got this khaki green here in Aus as it’s a sick colour 🥺
I love my raptor but i also live in ontario and this would definitely be way more practical in the trails around here. Sometimes i barely fit through full forest service roads in mine
The Raptor is my dream truck, but it not going to be as reliable as my Nissan Titan Pro-4X. If sales of Frontier keep going up, maybe Nissan will make a V8 Titan Warrior in the future.
@@truthserum5310 I live in NC and saw a black RR for 57.3k sticker. They were asking 60ish on their website, but another dealer had one 500 under MSRP and they said they would match the price, so it would have ended up exactly at MSRP. I want cactus gray, spray in liner, and the keypad so I'll have to wait for a build queue. I plan on getting one, just gotta get out of college and switch jobs. The months it takes to build it I'll be saving for a decent down payment, need those monthly payments at a reasonable price lol.
Just because of this review, I am going to buy this truck when I have the means to do so. Mark my words. p.s. I bought myself a 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport because of your review on it, thank you TheStraightPipes
That nose heavy landing looked kind of sketchy haha! What a badass little truck! I’m slowly upgrading my 2021 F-150 SuperCab STX 4x4 5.0 in Lead Foot Gray to be more off road capable. Recently added a 5” Billie Bars bed rack with a Free Spirit Recreation Aspen Lite SEI edition tent and a bike mount. Can’t wait to go out on some weekend adventures! Great content as always, much love from Texas!
The truck jumped what seems like 3-4 feet in the air, and had an airtime of at least 3 seconds, not bad I would say and didn't even bump, well absorbed and way better than any other vehicle trying that kind of jump at this level.
Here is South Africa we have been doing a lot of Baja since last year and in cities u cannot go for more than 10 minutes without seeing one at the malls.
2:48 funny u mention that because the offroad event Ford did for the Ranger Raptor in Vietnam had a crazy bumpy track. Really pushed the suspension to its limit
Link? I did not know Raptor was in Vietnam, seem like the perfect setting for a Raptor, considering a large portion of Vietnam jungle look like the time of the dinosaurs.
1.9 milloin baht here in Thailand about 53,000 US.these are Aussie but built and assembled in Thailand..if a vehicle is not built in Thailand 300% duty..and no used vehicle period..
@@lookingthroughice7843why do you think that 4 cylinder engine is unreliable? Do you have a negative experience with it? I used to own a number of great 4 cylinder cars for the last 20 years. As well as 6 cylinder cars and a v8 Chevy. Engine issues are not connected with number of cylinders according to my experience :) For example VW EA888 engine is 4 cylinder and it is just a great engine. Probably one of the best in the world for now) So what exactly is your concern? @thestraightpipes what is your opinion?
I’m a huge fan of new cars mainly trucks rn factoring aftermarket and enthusiasts into the designs. Something as simple as having a setup for a GoPro, aux buttons, the slot for aftermarket ambers, all just make a more appealing car for enthusiasts
@@zorankarabeleski392 that's because Ford/Dearborn hates Amer...meh too early in the day to go there. plus, not really relevant when any consequences would have to wait for Tru...truly good times to return and everyone on the 🌎🌍🌏 buying each other a🥤🥤🥤.
@@rezawannenberg5931 This is completely incorrect and a simple search would tell you the correct information. The US and Canada version of this truck is built in Wayne, Michigan in the USA. Don't know why people constantly give out incorrect information when the internet you are currently using to watch this video can easily tell you the correct information.
Yes I'd like to see how that tiny hybrid battery is going to deliver the same power as this turbo V6 under load. I have a feeling the battery will deplete and then the taco will be left with turbo 4 banger
I have a 2001 F350 that weighs 5195lbs and I go way harder than any Raptor ever could because the frame was designed to flex and it cost a 10th to run it like a skate board in the X games. These are just going to be seen at Costco picking up bulk items and you know it.
I had a guy thrash past me in one of these a few days ago, driving aggressively the whole time. I couldn't keep up in my Subaru Liberty/Legacy 3.0R. They are pretty quick.
@@TheStraightPipesCurrently mine is running 480hp and 590ft-lb. Goes like a cut snake. I hope you get the chance to drive an upgraded one as then you won’t care which way the ecu is mounted, you will just be hanging on.
@@Don-pk2uy I would call it a really brisk car. The next step up would be quick. It pushes you in the seat but doesn’t slam you head into the rest. Yeh it’s heavy, only about 100lb between it and my f150. It is not TRX or raptor R fast, but is very punchy for what it is and the size helps with it being way more nimble, and therefore confidence inspiring than the bigger utes.
Here in America they are going to mark these up so much it is not t going to make any sense… it WILL be a six figure truck by the time the dealerships are done.
Well they tied too. They had them going for over 80k in my State. Now they dropped them down to around 60k, because no one was buying it for F-150 Raptor money. 😂
We can thank Tesla for that in a way. Fifteen years ago when the e92 BMW's were around, we would get excited with 15-20hp increases on the new refreshes. Tesla appeared with it's insane power and suddenly cars and trucks had to counter with far more than 20hp bumps. The competition Tesla brought on the scene was well worth it for everyone.
As much as I love the look and selling point of the Ranger Raptor.. just 2 things really worry me as a potential customer: 1) I don't like that virtually every control is on a screen... how are you supposed to be able to adjust these if you're on a bumpy trail or wearing gloves during a cold winter; 2) Anything and everything with "Raptor" in the name gives dealerships a reason to charge "market adjustments" and markups, as well as adding ridiculous aftermarket modifications that aren't OEM, aren't covered under manufacturer warranty (dealer only) and charging more for those than it would have cost if you just bought it without and installed it yourself.
Actually, it is the same price as a full-size raptor, the one that I am set to get in April if I want is being up charged $20,000 from the dealership so it ends up coming in at $80,000
I always prefer the smaller, more affordable version of cars that still offer the same type of excitement 🌚❤️ (You know, I prefer a BMW M2 to an M4, a Cayman to a 911 and a Ranger Raptor to an F-150 Raptor) However, I do suffer from that Caymanism you know, "The Cayman must always be lesser than the 911 which is the more expensive love child", and I see that reflected here with the Ranger not having amber headlights 🙂 It's like "Yeah, this is a Raptor but not so much xd If you want that go for the F-150" which for smaller, lighter car lovers like me is dreadful 🙂 Still, these are great! I see them rolling arround all the time in my country :)
Great video guy's... Looks like you had lots of fun. Looks like Ford built a winner. Even though it looks like it's a bargain it's still going to be a tough pill to swallow. Cheers!
@@JamesThomas-dn6ee after destination a base no option would be over 57k. No way anyone gets out the door for less than 60. For a midsize that is laughably expensive. 20k more than my 2021 full size trail boss.
Can you not take the Raptor badge off? I'm on the Ford website trying to build one and there's no option to remove. That's one of the things I love about my F150 Raptor. It's almost a stealth Raptor with no badges.
I don't think there would be a point unless they went with the 5.2 Predator. Which isn't likely. Bolt-ons, downpipe, and good tune will probably have close to the same power as a supercharged 5.0. Ford Performance might even come out with an official tuning pack that will be factory warrantied.
You guys should do the 2-3 day Ford Off-Road adventure course for the Bronco, love the Ranger Raptor. I was waiting for the tree to knock your phone out of your hand.
Interior is slightly different than the Aussie spec. For one there isn't any memory functions for the driver seat and no rear window sliders. Seat belt anchors are not adjustable for the Aussie spec although we do get the rear air blowers
Hopefully these will come soon, my guess if those features were probably held off to give something for year to year upgrades. The seat belt adjusters is a weird miss however.
I looked at one this past weekend. Asked the dealer if there was a dealer mark up, and they said no. Once we started talking numbers, an additional $10k was put in. I walked right out. I'm not putting money in someone else's pocket for being a middleman. I want $60k out the door. How hard is that!?
Hope you eventually get yours at MSRP! Initially, I wanted the Tacoma, until I found out it was turbo/overprice/Mexico. The Ranger Raptor was impossible to find and out of MSRP range. The ZR2 exterior design is my favorite out of all the mid-sizer. Frontier Pro4X is the most reliable but does not have manual. I got fed up and bought a 24 Titan Pro-4X instead. Plan on doing the Reno to Las Vegas trail next summer!
Not affordable when you will get priced gouged at the dealership. Dealerships that can barely keep stripped out 2024 Rangers in stock, what do you think will happen when a Raptor shows up for sale.
@@nathanroodt437 It had nothing to do with South Africa, it was designed and Engineered in Australia at Campbellfield in Victoria for the global market
Ford recently has quietly taken cars new to the market and priced well like the Bronco Raptor, Lightning and raised the msrp astronomically over time. I expect no different from this. And they still haven’t put dealerships in check like they keep threatening. If you want a Ranger Raptor at this price get it now because I bet it’ll start at 70k in a year or two
A lot of companies have done that. Look at the Nissan GTR. If you bought that brand new the first year, you pretty much wouldn’t have lost a penny on it selling used today because the prices went up every year
In my opinion, I wouldn't consider the Ford Ranger Raptor affordable, at least in the U.S. Most dealerships are tacking on a 10-20k markup above MSRP, for that price you could buy older generation mid-size truck and modify the living piss out of it.
