I have had a new Duramax every 2 to 3 years since 2004 One thing I learned never track any fluid usages until after second oil change I change every 5000 miles
I got a 2024 2500 Zr2. I noticed the fist 1000 miles I had to add a good bit of Def fluid. I was thinking they never filled the tank all the way from the factory which irritated the hell out of me. Now it seems fine and I barely use any. I think it had something to do with the computer and the first regen. I was starting to think something was screwed up. Give it some time.
I believe they leave the 2 gallons as an absolute emergency situation. Because supposedly at 1,000 miles left of def it tell you something and then again at 800 or 500 miles. I’m guessing they just want the truck to go empty on def.
@@kdissed 3500 same as 2500 Just secondary leaf springs in rear for additional load rating Drops 1” with 1100lbs on tongue 14000 lbs trailer with load Still doesn’t use 3500 s
Nice ! I bought years worth of blue def brand 12.99 shipped right to my house free Home Depot, can’t imagine what freightliner was on 15 x2.5 gallons I win Home Depot lost on freight
Just be careful, DEF shelf life isn’t great. Keep cool and in shade. I use Tractor Supply Traveller and it’s usually like $8.99 a 2.5g jug…. Wal Marts where I live are kind of a disaster, so I avoid…
I’ve used tractor supply, wal mart, peak blue, shell rotella, and ac Delco without issue. I tried the peak platinum blue, and truxk threw codes. Never buy the peak platinum, everyone seems to see it throw codes.
