2024 GMC duramax 6.6 Def usage update 1000 miles per gallon

I have had a new Duramax every 2 to 3 years since 2004 One thing I learned never track any fluid usages until after second oil change I change every 5000 miles

I got a 2024 2500 Zr2. I noticed the fist 1000 miles I had to add a good bit of Def fluid. I was thinking they never filled the tank all the way from the factory which irritated the hell out of me. Now it seems fine and I barely use any. I think it had something to do with the computer and the first regen. I was starting to think something was screwed up. Give it some time.

I believe they leave the 2 gallons as an absolute emergency situation. Because supposedly at 1,000 miles left of def it tell you something and then again at 800 or 500 miles. I’m guessing they just want the truck to go empty on def.

At a half tank on mine is 3 gallons at the pumps

What is your tonneau cover info?

On a trip now only 300 miles and this thing is burning through def idk why I did way longer trip and never filled and that was 700 round trip 24 2500

is that 2500?

Walmart same DEF 8.88……+ tax…..BLUE 19.99…..same cow piss and water!!!!!……I have seen most RV users use mostly Walmart too
