My old man a I took one for a drive yesterday for him and he immediately fell in love. He wants get get of of diesel cars and is getting older (55). Still has 3.5t towing which was a big thing for him but also petrol. When you compare features with this car to its competitors the gwm shits all over Toyota, isuzu and the ranger but not a raptor which is another 34k. I was never a fan of a Chinese car but after seeing and driving one definitely changed my whole prospective on these.
When will reviewers stop complaining about the driving aids and start being honest and blame ANCAP? All new cars have them but this review, like many others, makes it sound like a GWM problem.
It’s a hybrid petrol electric there’s no mention about where the hybrid battery is located and additional weight it adds to the vehicle. I had the Haval SUV hybrid and was told It was not intended to be driven through water I.e. floods. I traded in and went back to a diesel 4x4 cannon because of the risk for battery failure driving through water. Would like to know your views?
For 65k what are you whinging about? Pay another 100k if you want more power or carry 5kg more. Value for money. And Oz is only a small portion of its business so keep buying the Ford's if you want to be bent over.
Here’s what a lot of these reviewers dont get, the majority of these vehicles regardless of brand are seen in school drop offs, not off road, this means people are looking for a very comfortable affordable hybrid pickup to enjoy that they can throw the kids bikes in the back.
Subscribed. Like this review. Like more competition. The new Prado is going to increase its price by $12k when it cones to the market in a few months, it’s greedy. The Japanese/American/European car manufacturers have ripped off us so long and so much!!!
Great vid. The one question i was hoping might be answered directly is whether you see enough value to jump from spending, say, the mid forty thousands on Cannon X..to potentially in the low sixty thousands for an Alpha. Or whether the Alpha just points to the X being really good value for what it is. Keen to know how your spending decision would play out..
It just refers to the size of the Ute. Nothing to do with payload. The ford f150 has less payload than a ranger but the f150 is still called a 1 ton Ute.
I have three critisms the badges front and rear are extremely oversized and overpowering it also needs refined coil springs on the rear end. Also unless it's an optional extra and not shown in the footage they need some sort of cover to go over the rear cargo bed. It's going to take some more work to beat the Toyota Tacoma Hybrid that has just been released in the USA. 😎🇦🇺👍
