I'm warming a lot to the idea of the next game being campaign only, with Infinite being the dedicated multiplayer experience. I think that could tighten the development cycle by a lot. EDIT: I get why some people might think "That would be the worst thing since cancer," but there's precedent for this and in the past it paid off. ODST was a standalone campaign released mid-dev cycle between 3 and Reach with no PvP multiplayer platform of its own. ODST had Firefight, sure, but that was a single co-op PvE mode. Halo 3 was the dedicated multiplayer experience. I'm not saying I'd like Infinite to be the dedicated multiplayer forever, but I see zero need to sink work into another multiplayer immediately. Now that a lot of the spaghetti code is untangled, continuing to improve Infinite's multiplayer will take significantly less resources than building another multiplayer from the ground. Infinite as a platform easily has the potential to support two mainline titles' worth of multiplayer content. I envision: mainline title plus new multiplayer - > mainline campaign plus standalone campaigns and continued multiplayer support- > mainline title plus new multiplayer. That would make for a great rhythm that would provide even more content than the Bungie era. I personally would rather see a new multiplayer every 1.5 dev cycles or every other dev cycle if it means could regularly get spin off campaigns as well as get mainline campaigns more quickly. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk.
Honestly what I want from halo this year is more development of story, how the Sword of Sanghelios are doing, we’ve seen a little in the novels but not much past Bad Blood/Outcasts, maybe more cross core armor like chest pieces or shoulders, hell even knees. They could make generic new armor that fits across all. And ofc what everyone keeps wanting, playable elites, even if canonically that isn’t possible, yet.
Pretty sure they already said shoulders were next, but beyond that haven't even mentioned anything else. Would be nice to see some of the earlier armor pieces at least get some kind of toggle to match the coatings instead of being stuck their standard color regardless.
Wishful thinking at best, they can't even get the basics, like networking right, or sbmm. Infinite will never be fixed, and most certainly will not progress the story in a meaningful way
@@ChiefVince117Me looking back at all the progress the new team is making to fix things: "Ha! I knew that wearing a tinfoil blindfold would make the phrase "Out of sight, out of mind." come true!"
I really wish the story in multiplayer wasn't gutted. They could have done a lot more there. Also still wishing for a new Halo Legends or Star Wars visions style animated anthology series. It'd be great with their story fracture armor cores.
@@vullord666 that would be dope, in that animated series they could also cover the created conflict in an easily digestible way, Ik reading/audiobooks isn’t for everyone
Thank you for continuing to do the news. I recently bought a series S to revisit halo after being on solely Playstation for about 8 years. Your content has revived some passion for the series for me, and its nice to know what to expect and issues to be wary of jumping back in
Yes, my friend and I complain about this every time we play. So annoying to not be able to have map voting. That was a standard there for a while for halo and cod
I know this has been repeated a lot, but I want more to the campaign and the campaign DLC. The story has (and had) so much potential but feels extremely bare bones right now, there could be so much more done with almost everything. One thing in particular I'd love to see is the flood returning and potentially fighting an infected spartan, alongside floodified vehicles as well.
People when guilty spark comes back: “343 ruined halo 3s ending Johnson died for nothing 😭” People when the flood come back (it was the entire reason Johnson had to die): “wooooo yea baby!!!”
@@Harbingeruprisingofficial Agreed. I believe if you stand on top of the highest point of the map you can see an unfinished/broken UNSC ship that crashed on the ring in the distance, but it looks quite broken texture-wise, with some parts being stretched if you look closely.
Bro, in regards to padding out videos for ad revenue, I think you're probably benefiting in some way from that financially. You're probably the only channel with daily uploads that I actually watch. Your videos are so concise and informative, even if I know what the video is about I watch.
For the channel: I don't really have anything to add, you do pretty much everything from my point of view. I watch mostly for the news and clips. I really appreciate you letting the community know what's going on and keeping us informed. It's been very valuable to me over the past year. The only thing I'd love to see would be a basic sniper tutorial. Your clips are insane and it would be cool to get some insights on how to improve. That is all! Thankyou for everything you do!
I love the idea of 343 making standalone campaigns and having Infinite be the multiplayer going forward. I think considering the launch of Halo 5 and Infinite, being able to be more focused on something like Campaign would be better overall.
Glad we have you reporting on the news Mint. I agree it's often scattered and it's nice that you collect that information and relay it to your audience. Also glad to have you as an intermediary between the community and 343. It seems you do a fine job at communicating the players wishes to the devs and get out biggest wants and wishes communicated (nerf the grav hammer plz). Lastly as for Halo 2's 20th. I would like to see them do a "Halo 2 Throwback" matchmaking list like they did for Halo 3 that includes maps from Halo 2 (Ascension, Burial Mounds, Turf, Lockout, Ivory Tower, etc.) Thanks and have a happy new year!
If we get a new game announced, I’d love for the campaign to focus on arbiter and what was going on after Chief disappeared into deep space. Especially sense it is halo 2’s 20 year anniversary. Another Arbiter campaign would be perfect fan service for the community I’d argue.
I feel like 343 should make the campaign more separate from the multiplayer sense they started the halo infinite campaign like an open world game and then they could just expand both parts of the franchise easily imo
You're such an animal for this game online and a great community member. Whenever I get sucked back into playing HI again for a bit I always love watching your gameplay and hearing your coverage on stuff I didn't know was happening with the game. Much love homie.
Yes please do a video on the matchmaking system especially ranked. I had a d1 on my team against two onyx 1600s and it’s been completely busted for a long time. I’m also glad you’re keeping vids 3-5 min long, which is one of the big reasons I watch your info content
Definitely more squad Battle maps. SB is the best mode. Quick play the sbmm is too tight, and btb is too chaotic at 24. It's like there's no map control when the maps are so large.
hope we get a halo 2 playlist for the 20th anniversary!! halo 2 reloaded with sanctuary, midship and ascension! could also be the BR starts playlist that people want so bad
3:28 my bad to anyone who has played with me my brother and our friend, whenever we play infinite we’re almost never focused because we play it on autopilot. We literally played a game where we had to guess the year of a piece of media by memory WHILE we played halo at the same time 💀
I’m hoping for warzone since we have ai now and a lot more weapons being added to the game because in husky raid it seems like there are so many hammers and swords. Some of the weapons I’d like to see should be the carbine , fuel rod, beam rifle from halo 2, and a good shotgun.
How I battle going against teams that are better than my team is to group up with the teammate with the lowest kills or deaths. Really helps come back and win
1: playable elites 2:the mantis from halo 5 3:forunner weapons also mostly from halo 5 4:completly remove the weekly challanges and make it so depending how good you did that round thats how much xp and battlepass points u get (like bf 2042) 5:more vehicle varients (also like halo 5 :) ] 6:add field upgrades and boosts to weapons almost like cod killstreaks were you have to go to a spot on the map were the field upgrade button? or pickup? or terminel? or somthing like that but when you die or maby it should be on a time limmet then the effect will be gone untill the next tripple kill or somthing.
Happy New Years! I do hope to see Halo come in with more full force of content updates and just QoL improvements, even going off of how substantial last year went for Infinite!
I'm just tossing this in here. But I'd love to see infinites take on invasion. With PEvPE being possible it could really make battles feel epic and huge
The bug where the settings reset happened to me 2 or 3 seasons ago, I never get it now. But 343i still needs to work on it because the community is complaining about this currently.
If you wanted to pad the news videos for more ad revenue: you could just add gameplay or trick shots to the end of the video. Although I can only speak for myself, I don’t mind sitting through an added on portion of the tail end of the video to get you paid more. This is the best halo news channel
I found my settings reset on PC all the time. The issue is related to the fact that the file related to storing the settings is linked to the account that I first signed into, not my main. If I sign out, and sign into the account I first signed into, changed the settings, sign out and resign into my main, the settings remained the same Not sure if its the same with Xbox
Could you talk about the points earned vs points lost for wins/losses in ranked. If I win a game in ranked, no matter how well I do, max csr points I can ever get is +6, while my teammate who has the exact same rank but went negative, they usually get +9 or +10. If I lose a game, I always get -10 or -11, even if I have highest k/d ratio or most time on objective. My hypothesis is that I’ve been playing the same profile ever since the game came out, so therefore I’m punished for my high spartan rank while everyone I play with has a gold or silver account. I don’t believe in using Smurf accounts, but I literally can’t move away from stupid platinum because the ranking system won’t allow me
really wish they would make a MCC style story game where it is like Halo Legends. Campaigns based on the books or other halo stories (like ODST) which let you play through more of the Halo conflict and stories from across the Halo Universe (Elite, flood, Human, Forerunner/ancient human)
Seeing this game being played at less than 280ms makes me want to purchase a server for middle east for halo. This game was an absolute beast but it feels something superior seeing this being played at less than 280ms latency
Your playing this game on Xbox? Me too! Is that okay if you can give me some tips about playing multiplayer like Slayer? How much sensitivity should I have when moving my character around and killing other players, etc? Looking at your gameplay looks very easy to play multiplayer, but in reality it can be tough lol. I'm usually decent at it, but not the best. Is there any advices or tips you can help we with?
If the next Halo game is purely campaign with no multiplayer (aside from Campaign Co-op of course), I think that would be fantastic as it would help build upon the universe of Halo and give us campaign fans something, while at the same time, it would mean that 343i wouldn't have to juggle Halo: Infinite's multiplayer and the new game's multiplayer because it simply wouldn't have one. And if they wanted, they could easily add stuff to Infinite's multiplayer from the new game, whether that be new armour, maps, weapons, vehicles, etc.
Are you and Caitlin long distance? I always just assumed you had met in person, and just both happen to play and love Halo. But when you said about her flying down and spending your first Christmas together, that surprised me for some reason. Hope you had a great Christmas with friends and family, and I look forward to more great Halo content, be it trickshots, multikills, or news updates. I really appreciate you always covering news with Halo, because as you said, it is often Twitter ("X") comments, on Reddit, etc, and a lot of us don't actually know what's happening with the games, especially when I take breaks from Infinite, and sometimes play other stuff, or take a break from games, I don't typically keep up with what is or has been happening, so I can always rely on your videos to keep me updated, even if I don't get around to watching them for a bit. I can still see what content, patch notes, have been released, and what upcoming updates they are working on, even if it's say, a month later.
Can anyone help me with my problem? I have online, but whenever I try to play an MCC multiplayer match it kicks me out of the lobby like 3 seconds after pressing play. Are the servers down or is it just me?
Multiple btb dev maps and community forge btb maps added to matchmaking. Pregame post game lobbies, veto/voting system. Social features more weapons from classic sandbox and vehicles.
My wishlist: - Real firefight - OG weapons (beam rifle, etc) - Assassinations - Get rid of armor core system - Social features , pre/post game lobbies - Map/mode voting - OG carnage report - Service record and commendations - Meaningful career rank rewards - Forge map playlists for each old halo game - Completely revamped UI, it’s god awful right now - Better custom games browser - OG emblems - Continuance of the live service storyline - 20% reduction in bundle prices - Able to buy individual pieces outside of bundles - meaningful weekly ultimate rewards - more weapon skins - music in the forge - better firefight ai The list goes on…
I’m honestly not opposed to the idea of a new halo campaign, whether it’s a Halo Infinite DLC, something to follow up with halo wars 2 and the Spirit of Fire/Red Team, or maybe even an ODST 2, that way we don’t need a full multiplayer experience for those games and 343 can still consistently allocate resources to Infinites’ multiplayer
Regarding sbmm, it might be tough to compile the data, but trying to see how team composition affects difficulty for top players could be interesting, as well as cross referencing to game type and maybe a logarithmic model for team balancing. Three solid players and a weak player for a total of 1000 vs two solid players with two weak players for a total of 1000 plays drastically differently depending on the game type. In slayer or flag the 2 weak players really affects the team, vs other game types such as strongholds. And the team skill of 700 versus 1500 makes the game feels drastically different. When it's 700 vs 700, I feel like a god where I'm mowing the opponents down but my team is useless. Whereas at 1400 versus 1400, I'm actually the worst player on either team and just trying to go positive kda. Although most of my games are in the 1100 vs 1100 range and I typically have 2 weak players and 1 solid versus 3 or 4 decent opponents. Edit: this being hidden mmr, not rank, as I'm a 1200 rank player, but I dont know exactly how they apply the hidden mmr to a team skill rating.
It’s time for new campaign, map voting, new game modes or modes taken from halo 3, overall just more content… there’s plenty of maps now, it’s time to make them more fun with additional modes.
All I want is SOMETHING story related in-game (like the seasonal cutscenes from before reimplemented). But I really don’t see it happening. An update on the future of Halo from official sources would be nice too
I still play on an Xbox One back when it came out with Halo 5 and I get a maximum of 30 fps. Normally it is fine, but I notice it is difficult to play on forge made maps as it results in lag.
Speaking of Halo 2, on MCC I can’t even play online co-op with a friend without the game disconnecting in the middle of a level. If Halo MCC doesn’t get anymore content updates like what is speculated, I’d at least like smaller updates revolving around bug fixes if nothing else because I know co-op across the board is buggy and I know the most recent update introduced a lot of other issues too.
The thing I want for halo is halo mcc to get one more final update to where they at least fix all the campaigns to legacy audio and visuals as close as possible that's what I really want
Yesterday I played a slayer match where I went 35 and 8 and we still lost. I pray to God that sbmm and the multiplayer algorithm change in 2024. It might be best for player retention within a single playing session, but I cannot fathom how it's good for player retention over a longer period of time. Every time I stop playing halo infinite, it's because I've been frustrated at getting unwinnable matches. Let's hope they change it
I'm a big halo guy, play all the games, read all th books, make my own forg maps for customs with my friends but the finals has taken me away, the finals has given me so much and I'm addicted
As long as they can get the desync problem sorted out, I'll be happy. It's not as bad as when the game first launched, but I still frequently have nights where I try to play and there's desync. Usually it'll just be small stutters throughout the match, and while it's annoying, I can usually play around it. But other times it's so bad that the game is literally unplayable because of all the rubberbanding.
The Halo Infinite campaign really needs to finish the fight in 2024. As is the open world is just missed opportunities (where are my biomes) and the story felt more like a prologue (or like chapter 1 because it felt like it skipped the prologue) of a really good novel I'm still waiting to come out.
Main problem is countries with low population have been locked out or high high search times. where back in days it would just throw u in a USA lobby quickly on past halos.
