Got a 2005 cbr 600rr, had it 18 years, got 22000 miles and still goes like a dream…..as I’m 50 now I’ve been looking for something a bit more sensible like the new Daytona , then this comes out and I think, fook it, whilst ignoring my back….this is 10 and half grand, I’m having it.
Back in 2000 I bought a BRAND NEW R6 for 6k. According to the Bank of England inflation calculator, that amount is now 10.8k so this CBR 600 is right on the money but with MORE technology.
Sportsbike 600s struggled to sell when they cost almost as much as a 1000 superbike to buy. But now Honda and Kawasaki are selling their sportsbikes for just over £10K (half the cost of a 1000, and only a little more than the parallel twin crowd); it’s a bargain!
Another idea is that the used market was so saturated with these, that people would just have bought a few years old used one. Now that they were off the market for a few years and the old ones are quiet dated, people are interested in buying new ones again. At least that's my guess looking at the used bike, most super sports are 1000CCs between 2000 and 2010. But yea, currently this bike looks like an amazing bargain compared to other bikes.
no not half the price of the 1000 I just saw it is 11k vs 16k not 22k which would be double....i mean LOOK before you spew something....well unless they are gouging the liter bikes in the UK?
@@dougiequick1 I bet you’re a fun guy to have a drink with…..🤣🤣🤣 And if you’re going to get pedantic, at least quote the correct prices before you spew something - the CBR600RR is only £10.5K 🤣🤣🤣 Just checked prices and you can’t get a Fireblade for anything close to £16K so I really don’t know what the hell you’re smoking 🤣🤣🤣
@ciuffoarancione8929 just too bad it doesn't have even the minimum of safety features such as ABS and a personal preference but I'd like it more updated to today's bikes
@@ciuffoarancione8929 but GSXR has like NO tech where the Honda has it all....otherwise I would aggree the gsxr is kinda a rip off considering the tooling is loooong ago all paid for....Suzuki just milks old bike models like forever....shamelessly
@@dougiequick1 then for 80% road 20% track an RS 660 is the right bike. And also looks good. It has more power and torque at mid range than 600cc 4cyl and it s lighter. It lacks grunt end, on track is not as fast as a 600cc 4cyl (if you are good driving it) but on road it s more funny..
Looks ace with that exhaust. A great bike for learning how to ride on track. Shame about the weather. I hope you guys manage a big sportsbike/supberkibe shootout again. I'd love it for the liter bikes as well as the "'middleweight" class
44teeth, smashing other channels right in the Gary. Love your stuff. The CBR600RR is perhaps the most beautifully balanced road/sports bike ever. I’ve got the 1000RR. Ooooh suits you.
My local dealer has taken 8 deposits on them and they arnt a big shop. They sell cos we all want the new blade but dont have 1 million dollars to buy one. These are at a great price point.
@@lonewolfriding3815extremely restricted. Get a good exhaust and tune, and they're hitting 180mph.... With 2 gears left to shift to. The stock gear ratios are extremely long, and also it's ECU tune just dials the timing back all the way to 5, and hence no hp and/or torque from factory. Change sprockets as well as the retune and exhaust, and now you have absolute monster acceleration on track.
I’ve had me first bike for 14 years now. 2002 CBR 600 fs sport and I’m convinced it can still do more than I’m capable of! I don’t ride it much these last few years but I’m still wanting a change. The next step up but can’t decide what to go for. That bike hasn’t missed a beat! I like the 765 street triple but I can’t get past the look of the front end
Glad to see this CBR600RR goes world wide, because in the most of Asia region this new gen already in the marketplace for a few years now and glad you guys have a chance to buy this beauty, enjoy 👍🏻
welcome to present honda 600! slipper clutch in 2024...something to be prod of really? This is coming from a honda lover, I love it on track but having to invest so much to be able to get basic braking on the track is a bit rough if you are on a budget... Awesome video as always #44 !
I SOOOO.WANT ONE OF THESE!!!! My favorite bike of all time, loved the 600-F4i and then even more when they added the undertail exhaust!!! SO GOOD to see it back again!!! What's the difference between wet and dry weather slider pucks? Are the wet ones a little softer, for more grip and better control, because the moisture will allow them to slide more, possibly allowing you to lose control and low side??
Would love another CBR600. After the previous eyebrow lights model, this looks really sharp (except the T-Rex arm wings) and keeps the underseat exhaust as well. Slipper clutch on a 600🤔...great. Great paint colour though Honda's usual dull designs.
I have 2005 600rr for almost 10 years now, 5 of which used as a track bike. It never even once let me down throughout the years. At this point it's more like a family member rather than a bike😂
Hi, i search for new bike to use on track only, and have question which one to choose the new 600rr vs r6? Can you say something about brake calipers in 600rr compared to r6 or how the new 600rr brakes in general
We’ve had this revised 600 in Australia since it became Euro5 compliant. However, the asking price was just ridiculous! Way too expensive. However, from my perspective, learning how to ride these fast on track provides more scope to improve before jumping onto a 1000 cc bike. When I started out racing in Australia the steps were 250 cc production class 2 strokes, then the 600 Supersports before stepping up again into Superbike Racing. As around Phillip Island had lap times spread with incremental lap time increases of between 12-15 seconds per category. Possibly one reason why a country with a comparatively low population has produced so many world champions in different classes.
I had the 600cbrr 2008...i loved it ..the overall look and lightness of the bike .. unfortunately i smashed it into pieces in a awful smash ..2 yrs on recovery and im thinking about getting another 🤔. Love the black n silver 2005/6 but never rode one and heard thats its nothing like the 08 handling wize .. im not a big fan on electronics..abs ect .. although slipper clutch makes sense. Uhmmm ...ill have to try the new one .
So pressed that this version isn't in the US. I want to buy a 600RR but I'm not gonna pay full price for an outdated model when this is available in every other country 😭
My 02 F4i just recently got crushed in a rear end accident. Devastated to lose my steed, was still in perfect condition, what an engine it had. This video has me rethinking my next purchase from something more upright and sensible to what I know best.
Gorgeous bike and I personally still prefer the supersports class over the superbikes (on the road). Probably cause I'm a big wuss and need to keep my license. 44Teeth spoiling us with the uploads, I like.
Very happy they’ve released this. I’ve got a 2003 CBR600F-sport, and I love it, 38k on it and it rides a dream. Looking at this does make my eyes wonder
I had a 2013 CBR600RR HRC. Loved everything about that bike then I let a friend ride it November 26th 2022 and he totaled it out ( 4 broke ribs and a punctured lung, He's fine now ) Now I have a 2019 ZX6R. It is the faster bike by far.. I was going to get another Honda, because I like the looks of the CBR 600 more than any of the other 600's ( What few of them that are left ) But I got such a good deal on the ZX6R ( $5,500 with 8,000 miles on it ) I couldn't pass it up, and now I'm glad I didn't even though the CBR600RR is a better looking bike... CBR600RR will always hold a place in my heart. I've owned 2 of them, a 2004 tahitian blue pearl. And the aforementioned 2013 HRC tricolor
Laughing at 9 minutes in when you overshot the sharp bend same as the Fireblade test, I would probably have binned them both in the wet, still a good watch though Al. From the viewers point of view the 600 looks very fast and rides nice and stable. Question: Why are we still being foisted with EU compliant nanny state stuff when we are not in the EU any more, I am straight piping my SDR very soon
Gives me a lob on seeing this. I've got a 2017 model race bike. By a long way the easiest bike to race. The shit you can get away with it mint. I've browned my leathers many times
It’s all a bit mute now, can’t get one only 400 coming into the country, 200 of them are for race teams and dealer demos and the last 200 are back ordered until November. They’ve way underestimated the demand
I had both a cbr600rr and street triple at the same time and the midrange of the street triple made the cbr feel so slow to get going. If Yamaha launch the R9 the cbr will be obsolete.
I bought my 2005 600rr as my first bike because when looking for common issues across different brands the Honda was the one I couldn't really find serious issues and I put on a trouble free 20,000+ miles before I totaled it. I replaced it with my friend's wrecked 2008 600rr and rebuilt it and through commuting, canyon runs, and track days it hasn't had a single issue. The only downside is a lack of slipper clutch until 2015(?) model year.
When are Honda gonna make a V4 400(like the nc30) to compete with kawasaki's new zxr400rr and when is honda gonna slap a 1 litre V4 in the fireblade style.
i like a nice torquay midrange and the top end rush on a 1,000cc so its not my cup of tea ... but looks like a nice bike and a track weapon as always with a 600 with the right rider it will humble 1,000 bike
Thanks for your insight to the new 600. Sooo many people out there have older 600's like myself and love them. Will they go out and buy a new one. Probably not, as they are pretty much one of the best sport bikes out there for the money. Looking at these comments you can understand why. Would be interested in seeing what you can do with one in the dry on a uk track. (if it every stops raining that is) Just keep doling what you do best, great videos. BTW, laughed my tits off at BBB Bratislava... Oh you've gottta do more of them for sure.
Love the CBR 600RR - The Sweet Spot of sports bike. They should name it the "CBR 600 RR RTH"; because it is perfect out of the box for the ROAD, the TRACK and the HOOD. There is not a single bad thing about it. Is it a 1000 - NO - It is a 600(599cc).
would you trade in a mint 2015 daytona 675r for one of these? Great review..thanks very much....i will try one but im not sure it will 'feel' quite so ...well...charismatic somehow
I wouldn’t… those are holding their value well on top of the fact that you can’t even buy one new anymore. If I had a Daytona 675r I would keep it forever
did you put the third slider on the end of your dong, it has to be big to go that speed on a wet track and right on the edge of grip, great stuff Al, your pieces to camera is really good to.
Just got a 2008 that I've got to pick up Tuesday and ride back 200miles thats going to be fun for my back. On pain killers now because I fk'd it making space for it in garage. Wanting to put a Suter slipper in it, but finding it hard the justify for a road bike. Slipper clutch or replace my 30yr old helmet(D.Beattie Rep). But seeing I can't afford a Suter 500 at the cost of 100,000 euros. It might be the only way to have a bit of Suter. Don't think the CBR is going to match my RGV250P but it will have to do. To much electronic s*&t on new bikes for me. Emissions rules/laws are a scam.
I've had a fked back from a diving accident when I was a teen..I don't find the 600cbrr gives me any trouble..there are lots of subtle positions u can use to help take stress off ur back ...just make a nice coffee stop in-between ur journey...pleasure n pain .😅 good luck lad ..be safe .
I'm not a Honda guy, but I'm definitely buying one when they hit the states. Hate that other companies are doing away with their inline 4 600s and 1000s, staring at you yamaha even though I have an MT10SP!
As a Yamaha guy, are you excited for the R9’s potential? I’ve been anticipating that bike for some time now and I’m hopeful it will be a powerful addition to the available below-super lineup options
@@frankfeng6199nothing like an inline 4 screamer. Thats where I’m at. I’m torn between the things I KNOW I love, and the POTENTIAL of these new choices. I love options, but hate choosing 😂😂😂
