If I don’t hear the head room “it’s good” line it’s just not a Ben Hardy classic .

All it needs is a twin turbo strapped onto that 3.8 L to make it really special.

I’m going to get pricing on this model in the morning. I was happy to see the black one finally. If you use a tripod, a view with the car going down the road is always good to see and hear.

I still can’t believe they haven’t added the power fold mirrors yet! It’s still a beautiful vehicle and incorporates many features of the Genesis.

Great review man. I always liked the palisade ever since i saw it at an auto expo. And now with this all black edition I'm even more sold on it. Sadly i can't get one. Yet im a college student snd i live in a country where palisade is not available 😢. However i liked how you took us on a ride in the car. Again great review. And keep coming with even more of them😊.

I must admit, the new Palisade just looks way better than the new boxy shaped Santa Fe. At first I thought Hyundai's strategy on bringing the new Santa Fe closer to the Palisade was a "model suicide", but now I understand that some people, just like me, might not like the new look of the Santa Fe. Very glad for the Palisade though.

Cheers to Hyundai for understanding that as technology advances the cost curve decreases. Very nice vehicle. However, one thing I do not understand. Why is every manufacturer installing a large plastic cover on their engines? I come from a perspective that heat kills performance, seems like the large plastic cover is a heat trap?

2 reasons I heard. 1) usually lined with foam to help w engine noise 2) aesthetic

We had a 2024 Palisade White with Red seats. Iin the Philippines last year. With the 193 hp 2.2 I4 Turbo Diesel. The only engine offered there. Nice SUV but coming from 400 hp Ram, and 800 Hp Hellcats. It was a Dog at WOT. It got good MPG, around 29 Hwy. We only had it 4 months. I had to return to the US For Medical. Being the Manila VA Sucks A$$. We never had a problem with it. Was nice and quiet SUV. The Ride, Brakes and Handling where Very Good. The only two things we did not like. Was the no power. And the push button auto. Some time it would clunk. When you but it in park, or drive. Would i buy one again. Yes if they offered the 300 hp I4 Turbo. Or better yet. The 380 hp Twin Turbo V-6 in the GV - 80.

Definitely not a bad looking vehicle. I could never do a Hyundai, but its features like this that make me take a second look. Nice review Ben.

The only feature I hate about Hyundai is the car unlocking when you put the car in park.
@Nitebreeze
@Nitebreeze 3 месяца назад
You can adjust the settings so that the car doors do not automatically unlock when you put it in park. The owner’s manual has the instructions or you can call your dealer for a quick “how to.”

Hard to understand why Hyundai doesn't charge a price premium for the night edition. Others would really hand it to you for that.

Hyundais are notorious for being…. easy to get taken without permission. Imagine paying $60k for a hyundai that you might not see in the parking a day later
@nickb.249
@nickb.249 5 месяцев назад
@@JoseDiaz-qw7mg people keep saying this but that's only true for the super cheap Hyundai models from several years ago with the physical key. the vehicle he's reviewing isn't even remotely on that level and doesn't have the same problems. what you're doing is like holding a Ford Expedition responsible for Ford Fiesta problems because they both have a Ford badge on them.
@JoseDiaz-qw7mg
@JoseDiaz-qw7mg 5 месяцев назад
@@nickb.249 in essence it’s true. the brand as a whole is responsible for the safety if their vehicles big and small. it’s like you’re justifying that the brand owner got robbed because they bought a cheaper model. And that hurts the brand, because it’s their vehicles. Remember the Kia Boyz? A friend of mine’s Tucson got stolen this weekend. And that is no longer a cheap vehicle.

@@nickb.249 in essence what you said is true. The brand as a whole is responsible for the safety and theft of their vehicles, big and small. It’s like you are justifying that someone’s car got stolen because they bought a cheaper model of that brand. Why do you think that more insurances are refusing to cover Hyundais and Kias? Problem I see with Hyundai/Kia is long term build quality. Initially they seem great. A few years in and they don’t age well. I’ve heard several people that have owned a few models say they are just “throw away cars”. They will never compete with the build quality of German and Japanese manufacturers I’m sorry if that hurts some feelings but it’s true.
@nickb.249
@nickb.249 5 месяцев назад
Just saying it's true doesn't make it true. Hyundai, like many base-level manufacturers has economy models and they have premium models. because Hyundai has more traditionally skewed towards the cheaper models in previous DECADES, morons such as yourself like to keep spouting the same crap and keeping the same mindset about them in 2024. Palisades are excellent vehicles that are generally regarded as one of the top two 3-row family SUVs on the market by nearly every auto publication, only being beaten by a rebadge of the same car from Kia. They not only compete with the Japanese and some German models (most German vehicles you're probably referring to are classed as luxury vehicles and then you're talking about Genesis GV80) but they're currently spanking the pants off of them. The Grand Highlander was a direct response to the success of the Palisade and Telluride. Your beloved Toyota made a whole new model specifically because THEY couldn't compete. It's okay to learn new things.
