Great review Anthony. That is a really well equipped SUV for sure. I've heard a few comments about the transmission and I know that 2 brothers that have a channel ended up returning the one they bought because of the transmission but I'm guessing for the most part it's okay. I still think I'd go with a Pilot personally. We've had 2 days of very nice Spring weather here which has been so nice. I hope that things on your side have been good and that you are doing great!

Hyundai has a lot of features for the price but that dct has been a lot of talks. Sadly it is a carry over which would’ve been awesome if they changed that out. The Pilot is a great choice with a v6. It is hot again but Chevy made the day amazing. We have the z06 coming soon with the new Colorado and traverse 😎. They gave great service which helped because I’m sun burn again 🤣😂. Thanks James and enjoy the cooler weather.

Great review and overall content on your channel. I have a 2023 Calligraphy which shares the same engine and transmission. I agree the DCT transmission has issues and wish Hyundai would have moved away from it. But I have over 20K miles, and have not had any issues. Also i feel comfortable because I have the Warranty to cover if anything goes wrong. I am not a fan of the rear of this 2024, but I think it will sell well because its modern and has a trendy look.

So the cons are the tires and 8 speed transmission and FWD? Any catastrophic failures that have been reported? How about the transmission?

It’s been the same for a while and it would be better if they didn’t do a dct as this is for a sports car not necessarily for a family suv.

Reliability is the real problem. The cat carfection brother bought one and had to put two Néw transmission under 1000 miles

Ready to move on from my 5 seat Santa Fe and Hyundai threw mea box with a third row. I’m slowly coming to grips with that but I’m reminded of the issues with this 8speed dct that they still haven’t managed to fix after these years in use. Reminds me of the excuses on the Theta engines that they downplayed until the class action lawsuit forced their hand. So to avoid the possibility of being without a car while waiting for a repair/replacement, I’ve decided to go with the hybrid/six speed and lose some horsepower. And as you mentioned, the 21” Pirelli tires will be a big blow to the wallet in about 35-40k miles, so the hybrid makes an improvement by using the same brand, but in a more economical 20” with the same wheel design.

Def makes me glad I have the 2020 2.0 SF w/ the standard 8sp tranny. For the life of me I didn't understand why Hyundai switched to the DCT in a basic CUV setup.

Passing on this version, the exterior plastic keep getting worse. Spending 50k on the Caligraphy only to have rippled shiny plastic wheel wells is obsurd. So disappointing. For 50k in a Hyundai, needs to be a home run

It's not always true! Having been around for 23 years, Hyundai's Santa Fe has come a long way. Until today, I know someone who drives a 2001 Santa Fe with 250k miles with no issues
