On top: I don't think that he really used the launch control. If you listen, you can hear the exhaust brrt brrt while shifting. It's usually not doing this with launch control

That Jaguar is one of a kind. One of two V8 in its segment if I’m correct 🤔. Used to also be the GLC but Merc killed the V8. BMW X3M twin turbo i6, Porsche Macan GTS V6, GLC hybrid 4 cylinder. It and Levante is a cool exception.
@@JVMP58 Hardly. Porsches launch control systems are very harsh on the drivetrain. Consistent launching will require much more maintenance and costs to keep the car in good shape.

My god what is this, can the jag driver not just pin his foot and go? Both drag races short shifts below 4k revs, just put the thing in S, let the car do better as it knows better, and the Macans left for dead
8:53 he short shifts probably as low as 3500 revs, instant cock up, 10:42 he short shifts again, the guy even grumbles because hes cocked it up, get somebody who can drive in a straight line and change gears properly, stevie wonder could tell you he cocked up both drag races, anyone with a set of ears can hear it, the fact you cant, is even more worrying
The fact is that the driver who sits the Jaguar doesn't know how to start lunch properly. I myself own a stock Jaguar F-Pace SVR from the 2022 model year. I personally overtook X5M Competition 2020, X6M Competition 2020, X3M LCI Competition, X4M LCI Competition, Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, Mercedes G 63 AMG 2020, Mercedes GLE 63 AMG 2020, Porsche Cayenne GTS 2020 in Drag Racing. Overtaking a Jaguar in Drag Racing Porsche Macan GTS is no problem at all if a competent driver is behind the wheel. So change the driver to a more professional one and then the result will be sad for the Porsche Macan GTS.
Interestingly there are a number of people commenting below that it was rigged etc etc, I must admit I’d expected the Jag to win when looking at Power and Torque but when you look at the claimed acceleration times for the Jag (Jag doesn’t understate) against actually tested (proven) times for the GTS they are very very similar. But of course the GTS is actually about handling not drag racing, I don’t think the Jag would get close on a lap time
AMG G-wagon perhaps? 🤔 Yes I know it's got the wind drag coefficiency of a barn and built for off roading and mall crawling but interested to see where it lands.
The ZF8 is the better transmission, and can hold far more power and torque reliably. The PDK has lag at low speeds and off the line. I've driven one in the new Macan S, and wasn't very impressed. I don't think that clutch dump is very healthy for the gearbox.
Some of the results is Porsche efficiency, a lot appears to be driver skill level; Sam acting surprised at the Jag's top end is wild based on the specs...
The Porsche also has a far superior and higher maintenance transmission. You must learn more about cars my friend This race is really no surprise if you understand both brands.

@alengreen589 I don't know ,they should have it in sport on the transmission, in manual mode when they are rolling and then once they floor it just quickly put it back into auto mode ,but for some reason it wasn't the case
SVR over spicy expensive Tiguan any day for me. the 5000rpm launch control cheater + PDK does give a slight edge off the hop, but man there is nothing like a big ole blown V8. Stay to the end and enjoy. Great racing good buddy. #drivermod
So......... Essentially, what you're saying is that a Tiguan just beat the biggest baddest version of the Jaguar F-Pace. That's pretty amazing. But everyone has long since known the Germans make superior vehicles to the once British/American/Indian or wherever the F-Pace is being stapled and glued together these days. But I digress. @@9fiveb180 If thats how you interpret it, good for you. I'm not spending 100k+ on a Macan GTS, when I have options like having blown V8. I, don't live my life and make automotive choices based on fractions of a second of 1/4 mile time. I was waaaay happier in the FPace then I was in the Macan.

But in an equally teasing manner, as that tends to yield the best results. But that's assuming the individual has the capacity to gain a broader perspective, and not revert back to anecdotal references to support their original (flawed) opinon. It would've been nice to see the same drag race, but without the brake boosting/launch control. I think the Jaguar would win by a large margin due to being supercharged (i.e. no turbo lag)
This guy doesn’t know how to drive I bet if you let the computer do the shifting it would be a totally different scenario for the Porsche, the second race u let the computer shift and the car won bravo 😂
As an FPace owner, I sincerely hope you put the SVR in S and Dynamic modes for a drag race. I'd hate to find out you didn't and just went with it on the porsche with launch control. Listening to the SVR gear shifts, it sounds like you didn't. It doesn't add up. The SVR is a beast and will chew out a Macan any day! From 2025 the SVR will be a collectors dream.

Also if you're looking to compare and drag race equivalents, the 3L T V6 version of the FPace is a fairer comparison to a bloody GTS. Also they mention they dragged it 3 times, where's the second? This video was designed to make a Macan GTS look good.
I'm willing to bet $100,000 with anyone on this earth that I can easily outrun a Porsche Macan GTS Drag Racing on a stock Jaguar F-Pace SVR 2021-2024. A totally incompetent driver sitting in a Jaguar. And you as the creator of the channel are totally unfair to race such an unprofessional driver. This is a terrible comparison. The jag doesn’t hold a candle to the Porsche. The Macan is FAR more reliable, better looking and so much more enjoyable to drive every day…
