Since I was a kid, I’ve always wanted these kinda sets, but never got one I may ignore that high price just to fulfill a childhood desire, ngl

$100 seems expensive until you take the 1000+ pieces into account. That means that even with the large pieces here we're getting a PPP of about 10 cents. The 2010 set had 278 pieces for US $35, a PPP of almost 12.6 cents. Lego is getting more expensive yes, but not as much as everyone seems to be arguing that it is.

Man.. of course Lego overprices a set about them. lol.

Definitely will be waiting for these to eventually drop at Costco for half off lol.

Honestly I think this set should be between 75-80 dollars

The issue with the super tall window goes back to the door and windshield parts. Since the door has to be under the windshield, it means you have a 2 brick height automatically. It also means the 2 stud high door has to start super low to fit under the windshield. Overall it makes me sad that the parts for building vehicles including the steering wheel have not changed in decades. There's been so much great vehicle development thanks to speed champions, but still so far to go with some aspects.

What i love most about this set (and the 60408 car transporter) is the new fifth wheel piece. It looks like LEGO is finally going to make a standardized coupling for semis/trailers. The last few years almost every truck/trailer combo had their own unique coupling - some rather weird - which made it impossible to swap trailers without some heavy modifications. I just hope that they keep it up and continue with this new piece.

If the tiles are printed and not stickers, then I think that would make it worth the price. If not, I will pass.

That front bumper would be great, it it was an older style truck and the bumper was chrome. I think it looks good overall, but it's just so bit that it'll take up most of my road space in the city. I guess it's good that I am doing a train/industry/cargo area expansion so I can still make use of this!

when i first saw this, i wasn't properly looking and thought one of the pallets with the sets on it was just a pile of the printed 1x2 money tiles and thought "lego is becoming self aware of their pricing?"

It's been a long time since I've said this about a LEGO City set...I LOVE IT!!! I'm so glad their returning to American style big-rigs! The engine bay and the living area is just icing on the cake! The price isn't TO bad, but I'm defiantly going to see if other retailers have it at a $10-$20 discount!

I love the use of the minifigure seat as a fender on the forklift! I would be interested to see you compare these with the other versions of this set if you had the chance.

I'm 99% sure everything in this set is printed, since all the designs seem to go from edge to edge, and stickers usually have a border around them

I just bought this set today at my local Costco for $75.

I love it! So many hits this summer! The construction crane, the excavator, and now this semi!!! The only thing to complain about is yet another hot dog stand. Give us a taco stand or a falafel stand! =p

Looks so good, but quite expensive compared to the one tbh (which I have but did not have the Toys-R-Us variant), but looks good and hope to see another variant of it or a Toys-R-Us variant of this (even though Toys-R-Us are closed mostly worldwide, but there are still stores or new stores popping up now, so maybe?), so yeah

It appears the black bumper and wheel wells can be easily changed to matching yellow color pieces.

I spent the same amount on the Ferrari F1 truck, which looks to be roughly the same size. It's one of those sets I buy to put in my collection

I don't normally get much City stuff, but feel like I need to get this set, as a guy into Lego, who works driving a forklift and unloading toy deliveries

The builder inside me is telling me to turn the truck into a custom brickformer

ya know when i first saw that cab the first truck that popped into my mind... was Freightliner Cascadia, but i do see some Kenworth in there too I'm just a little bummed out because i got the original yellow Lego semi truck... and here's a new one...sheesh...oh well maybe I'll get it if I ever have the room for it.

This is awesome, Lego city is really throwing it down lately. Appreciate the reviews Jang, hows your city doing on room for these sets? I try to place everything in the city but it’s hard man. Bro, sets like Caribbean Clipper and Red Beards Boat were over $100 back in 94. However, this is much more basic than those beloved ships but the Lego Semi has a nostalgia to it and why price is a little high. Yes, they could’ve added more exclusive minifigures but it is what it is. The Maersk ships never really came with anything either.

This one is more fun than the D&D LEGO set you looked at a while ago. However, if you really don't care for this one then don't bother.

Love the look of the set! I am very curious if it scales nicely with the Speed Champions cars. I don't have a lego city but do have most of those and would love to see if it looks nice with them. Always wanted the Toys R US one or the other Lego ones as a kid but never was able to get them, so this would be a good compromise! Just wish it was like 80 USD maybe but I would be curious to see what you think on the price and the scale if you were to review it!

I feel like we're in the stage where Lego is now pricing with sales in mind fully and all the time. This is a $80 set at best and that's what it'll sit at when it goes on sale.

1000+ pieces? I see a lot of large pieces making up the trailer - I wonder where all the small pieces are being used. $100 is a lot, but for those wanting 10 cent per piece, it's on the nose. I generally like the look of it and would love to see more detailed photos. I agree completely about the size of the window - definitely is too tall and makes that side profile look a bit odd. I have set 3442 which is quite a bit smaller, but they did get the door / window correct [though there's a weird gap due to the wrap around windscreen that doesn't wrap all the way around - but it's a 100 piece set so...]. Honestly I'd love to see a review of this, but I very much understand your hesitation. I'd feel better if this was a $70-75 set, but something tells me this is a set that won't be getting a discount due to TLG knowing how well it appeals to adults [but think of the children! ;) ]. Interesting to see so many large and expensive City sets this year. Hopefully there's more $10/11 sets coming this summer that haven't been revealed yet.

Is the red wheelwell on the forklift using the mini figure chair piece? You recognized that piece in one of the new car sets. Cool that they are using it in other ways.

How are you going to get the stickers without the set? Bricklink? Or you can buy it from LEGO directly?

This feels like the most "We expect you to stick this in your Lego City" looking set I've ever seen. Theirs's like no play value here, it's just a straight up truck and a forklift to use in a city diorama.

I have no interest in owning the set, but I love that lego reimagines certain sets every few years. I had the old yellow lego delivery truck from 2010, and seeing them remake it like this is cool.

Interesting set yes, the cab itself needs work, but the fact that they made it this way was probably so we can access the motor underneath, it's not terrible, but a bit off. I want to see the interior of the cab at least.

That's a pretty good truck, dispite some of the oddness with the cab. $100 though, ouch. I would love a review of this. I'd like to see the full overview and look at the details, and if there's any way this can possibly be worth $100. I missed out on the older LEGO truck sets and now it makes me want to look those up to see how much they're going for now.

Will you be getting this and remaking it into your own? A better version of this new set? Saw what you did to the old toys r us truck and thought it looked great. Would love to see what you could come up with to improve this new build!

It looks like it's mostly prints. That could explain the high price. My guess is the forklift fits in the front of the trailer.

Looks better than the new upcoming (blue color) car carrier!! Probably wouldn't be hard to make the truck into a daycab tractor, along with shorter wheel base!

So happy that I got the lego store and delivery van from 60097 to go with my winther village. This is way to big.

My main issue are those white side pannels of the trailer. I assume those are printed, but the yellow on it does not match the yellow bricks at all. That just looks so cheap.

I pegged that truck as a mix between the Freightliner Cascadia/Western Star 57x, and the International prostar. Not gonna lie though, while yes it's cool...it could be better.

Okay now I see the simularty between the lego version and the real life truck, but also it kinda looks like the Tesla truck also. If the cab was moved forward it would definatally resemble the Tesla Truck. It has a very sleek look to it.
