Last year I had lsu at 11-1 and they went 9-3.

I don’t see LSU losing 4 games. The new defensive coaching staff is too good in comparison to what they had last season. Did you know that LSU didn’t even have a defensive line coach on the sidelines last year? This upcoming season they’ll have BO DAVIS coaching the defensive line. Kevin Peoples will be the defensive ends coach. Corey Raymond coaching the CBS. THIS IS NOT LAST SEASON’S DEFENSIVE COACHING STAFF. THEY’LL BE MUCH BETTER.😅

Honestly, as long as i see any improvement at defense, im fine. Next year is the year where i have legit expectations

80% of the offensive line is back from last season, including the bookend tackles: Will Campbell & Jones Both of these tackles are going in the 1st round of the draft. Mix in a talented RB room & freaks at WR, & the offense will still be good. Will it look like last years offense? No, it won’t. It’ll still be really good. LSU literally got rid of its entire defensive coaching staff, THANK GOD!😅 They also replaced Matt House with Blake Baker. He turned Missouri’s defense around in his first season, going from triple digits overall to top 40 in the country. LSU has more talent than Missouri. It isn’t that hard to put 2 & 2 together to get 4. Will their defense be elite? No it won’t. It doesn’t have to be, just good enough to compliment the offense. If Baker can get the defense to top 50 overall or better, they should be playoff bound.😅

schedule is VERY managable. i can see 11-1 with a loss to USC, A&M, Bama or Arkansas.. no game they can’t win on that schedule

Never heard of Crazy Lou until an hour ago. I have been an LSU fan forever. Always will be. However, as a huge fan of College athletics I am slowly losing interest strictly because of the portal and NIL. I agree with CrazyAssLou enough to SUBSCRIBE to this channel. I agree that 8-4 is more probable than 9-3. Can LSU go 10-2 or 9-3? Yes but to me with all that Lou described they are an 8-4ish team. I can’t tell you which teams LSU looses to. It won’t be Arkansas and Florida! If we lose to them, we’ll be 6-6 or worse. So there’s that. Not that it matters but my guess is 93% of athletes that are cashing in on NIL are being paid for performance. Dunne, Sanders and Manning have the Name and the Image and Likeness. Everybody else, performance period.

Florida's schedule is BRUTAL. LSU's schedule isn't easy either. As a ND fan, we never knew what BK was going to give us from week to week. Sometimes, he'd have the team looking like a NC contender. Next week, the team just didn't show up at all. In the really big games, he had the deer-in-the-headlights look on the sidelines. 11-1 is possible, so is 7-5. He does a lot of things really well as the CEO type coach. At a win-at-all-cost program, I don't know if he will last throughout the full contract. 10-2 at ND and a cheap bowl win was good enough at ND. LSU expects a NC. I don't hate him, I would have taken the money too. I wish him well at LSU.

Interesting piece of lore with the Alabama vs LSU game going back to 1981 the home team has a losing record in the series Alabama is 7-14-1 at home against LSU, and LSU is 3-17-2 at home against Alabama since 1981.

I don’t see our offense taking a big step back, our oline is one of the best in the conference and we’re stacked at WR. Nuss can sling it and with a complementary run game they’ll score points. I still have questions about the defense, the staff is a huge upgrade though and should get the most out of the players.

I put money on under 9.5 wins as soon as the odds came out. Historic bad defense and the offense will take a big step back with their big 3 gone.

I agree that USC beats them in the opener. Brian Kelley hasn’t done too well I’m openers and that game is closer to USC. Some question marks for LSU this year. I agree with your assessment.

As an LSU fan, I think if the defense can be solid, they can probably get to 9-3 or 10-2. The schedule is pretty manageable for the most part. Great video. Keep it up

Top 100 ranked players currently on LSU’s defense. DL- Jones, Womack, McKinley, Reliferd, Guillory LB- Perk, Weeks, singleton CB- Johnson, Toviano S- Ryan, McBride Also, the problem last year was giving up the most 3rd and 7 or longer plays in the country. They will be top 50 at worst.

Love your videos, but LSU doesn’t have to be great on Defense to be much improved from last season, also their OC Joe Sloan was promoted from QB coach and His Co-Coordinator Cortez Hankins was the WR coach, they both coached the Bowl Game against Wisconsin after Denbrock had left, O didn’t show a huge drop off, also our New DC, Blake Baker, former LSU LB himself, showed what He is capable of at Missouri who had a great D last season, almost beat LSU in fact, that said, we won’t be Missouri last season but closer than you may think, also we missed our big DL targets in the portal, but did bring in two solid DT’s, plus a 5 star freshman DT to go along with Jacobian Guillory, and brought Corey Raymond back.. remember the secondary’s He used to field at LSU? Worth mentioning! I think the amount of emphasis BK has on winning the first game of the year for the first time in 4 years, will be an emphasis and they best USC, also Ark and Florida won’t beat us, that said I think we lose one or two games, to Bama and maybe OU, either way I give us 10-2 with some slight bias, good video, Thanks for your opinion!

LSU's hope for beating your predictions has 2 X factors. The young defensive talent MUST step up and prove to be better than what is already there (so this does play into your "inproving trajectory" scenario). Secondly ... the All-Star defensive staff Kelly assembled this off season could show a quicker turn around than expected. I'm not so purple & gold colored glasses to think it will magically become a top 25 defense ... but if they can get them to go from 107th to say 60th, thats probably enough to flip those 2 major upsets you have at the end of the season (Arkansas amd Florida). Which puts us at 10-2 ... and likely making the playoffs (all else being equal and injuries dont pile up). Other side notes: LSU offense will be more balanced run/pass (with traditional running backs instead of insane QB rushing yard numbers). Kaleb Jackson is going to be a stud. Also look for TE Mason Taylor to have ridiculous numbers this year. Defensively in the secondary, one missed question mark is the recovery of Xy Alexander from injury last year. That time frame to getting him back to 100% will basically determine the defense from being that mediocre middle we are hope we end up with versus being bottom half of college football again. Javien Toviano also a name to watch as a possible break out player to help alter some game results.

As a LSU fan, it’s a fair assessment. Kelly brings some needed consistency to LSU but won't bring a championship to Baton Rouge.

“Faith, confidence, or trust” The LSU DLine gets a bad rap… That’s a bunch 4 and 5 star players. Thus far they have not earned any faith confidence or trust… but for me that doesn’t mean I’m going to treat them like Vandy level talents. LSUs defense was just fatality in the wrong place and tackled poorly. I blame the secondary more. Injuries a players playing CB when they really should be safeties. And then missing tackles giving up a ton of 3rd downs and letting 1st down catches become touchdowns. That room needs to be better. LSU could have a defense about as good as Texas. If you took the time to compare the talent it’s about equal. LSU with a top 50 defense wins 9 games.

LSU and Ole Miss are "Dark Horses" to win the SEC. Missouri will play "spoiler" for a few teams in the SEC.

I think LSU should be in everyone game this year. My prediction is that they split ole miss/bama and Florida/Texas a&m. Then go 10-2

Lou, I like your show but you are wrong about LSU. They won 2 of their 4 national championships with 2 of the worst coaches in football. Brian Kelly is building a solid program through recruiting. They missed in the portal because they refuse to get in a bidding war. LSU is loaded on offense with a great offensive line, one of the best tight ends and 4 or 5 deep at wide receiver. Defense is showing signs of being much better.

I applaud your courage to pick an L to USC, especially as a guy in SEC country (not that I sure USC will win, I'm not). That game is a toss up. Both teams have so many untrustworthy units.

Thomas Castallanos at BC is better than QB1Sanders at Colorado. Look at their records last year. Thomas almost beat FSU. They won 6 games cs 4. He’s more electric and just better.

LSU has probably the best OL in the country. Two first rounders. Depth at WR. They will run the ball at will. Defense is much better than last year. Less than 10 wins is a disappointment

You had some great talking points till you said a win against Ole Miss. The only reason they stayed in that game last year was because of Jayden Daniels. Now this year you have communication in the helmet till 15 seconds. Now you really take away home field advantage.

Last time that I checked, USC’S defense isn’t anything to write home about either. To be honest with you, there was a lot of talk earlier this year about Lincoln Riley trying to get out of playing LSU first game of the season.😅

Sage Ryan was the best db and they move him to his nature position at safety and brought in Gilbert from the portal. They have a stud Delpit level freshman in Mcbride. Safety should be much improved. Burns was moved closer to the line since he was so bad in space last year. LSU should be good at edge as well. DT and CB are where they are iffy. They have good talent but unknown. The offense will still be top 10.

Lou, My Dad made the trip to LSU when Billy Cannon returned that punt to beat Ole Miss in the late 1950s. Dad took us down there for a night game when Archie was a sophomore. In a great game, Manning drove OM to a game winning 4th quarter score. Little did we know that many Manning would be so successful over these last 50 years.

I can see lsu losing to Arkansas. The rivalry in that game has always been serious. I remember when a bad Arkansas team beat the undefeated number 1 lsu team years ago that was a total shock

I'm an LSU tiger fan, but I'm also honest. LSU has an Achilles hill this season, and it's the D-Line. We are top-notch just about everywhere else. I think we go 10-2. If we can't fix the D-line, it'll probably be worse! We are going to have to score 45 points a game to win.

Kelly seems to be the polar opposite of Miles. Whereas Miles was a great coach during the summer and would bring a team into week 1 that was rock solid but lost down the stretch due to boneheadsd game plan and play calling. Kelly has brought a sloppy team into week 1 but has cooked up some wizardry to pull off wins. I hope coach Kelly is working hard right now to get them ready. Losing to USC would be NEXT level shame

As a long time LSU fan, it's hard to get excited about LSU football, can't believe I said that, but NIL and the transfer portal makes it hard to get excited when you don't know what the team actually is going to be like as far as overall talent. Back in the day we had recruiting parties for signing day, we knew who we had coming back, coming in and what we lost. Now not so much...😮
