@@quaizers not sure why people say that. The GTR transmission is perfectly fine, and it tightens at the limit. It's well known for performing 10/10 when you really get on it.

I came into the comments just because of that.😂 I think these drivers sometimes forget that the camera is rolling. Not once was that GTS in manual mode. It's a pity. Because if the ZL1 was in auto, it would've won that roll race as well. Which makes that entire race pointless.
And this is what I hate about this channel. On the rolling race from 50 mph in manual mode, the owner of the ZL1 who couldn't even line the car up evenly with the other cars at the start of the video, clearly hit the rev limiter and didn't upshift manually on time, and what does this channel do? Uses that run and doesn't re-run them. smfh

He started off in 3rd gear if anyone was paying attention🤨………like why at 50kph would you start a race off in manual mode in 3rd instead of 2nd at that speed……plus the merc was clearly moving faster because he was behind and tried to level before the line but was moving faster when they started! 😒🤦🏽♂️
Fun fact. The new AMG GT 63 a 200k plus car does an 11.1 quarter mile. Meanwhile, a bmw m3/m4comp xdrive does an 11.0 quarter mile. 😂😂 and that's not even the new LCI ones with even more HP which someone already got a 10.6 .. embarassing for mercedes
lol you must new to RU-vid. Mercedes and Porsche dethroned the GTR long time ago. The GTR is one of the crappiest unreliable car as a “super car” even when it was launched.

The GTR while fully claiming it was beating super cars, had a huge transmission issue and also it dies after 3 launches looool porches and Mercedes are the king of the ring long ago. The GTR pro AMG destroyed the Nissan GTR despite being a rear wheel drive. 911 turbos are the benchmark of drag racing. Maybe you have been comparing the Nissan GTR with bicycles in your area. lol deluded kid
I was about to say how much of a fail that was for the Camaro until the guy in the GTS opened his mouth and yelled POWER! I think that was the biggest fail of the video lol
🏆Great races! Thanks! It’s impressive how the Nissan, a car designed in 2007/08 can hang on to sport cars launched in 2024! By the way, the ZL1 could do better with a driver mode. Not that the driving was bad, but the ZL1 is just hard to get the best performance with an average driver (on the 2nd roll race the GTS was on auto mode and the ZL1 driver was using the paddle shifters, I could heard it “clicking”). Besides that, the big rear wing is not ideal for high speeds.
The ZL1 1LE was going to have a disadvantage from the start due to its aero giving it a lot of drag at higher speeds, and its stiff DSSV dampers. I don’t know if it was the only variant available to test with, but a non-1LE ZL1 with the same 10-speed would’ve performed better. Though, for an incredibly track focused car, the 1LE did well.
The driver of the GT-R needs to go have some classes. Couldn't line up even in the roll race, couldn't launch perfectly twice and cost the race. That GT-R was PULLING!
Sam, I did a 10.63 @ 128 mph 1/4 mile with my 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance and some weight reductions the other day. The US version of that car is way quicker than the Canadian version. I am moving to the North East of the US next week. It would be really cool if we could ever test the US version against the Canadian version some time?
Not that it would change the outcome, but using the 1LE version of the ZL1, with all the extra drag, was kind of a cop out. Should of run the base ZL1. It’s a solid .2-.4 seconds quicker
TO all the naysayers and complainers, the GTR is STILL a boss on the road and look at how it does on a drag strip!!! Still the exotic one for me and sadly it wont be here very long! So well developed and refined and also handbuilt! Keep me aware of your GTR hunt! I m on one for later this year as well! The dream would be to own a brand new last year model, but it seems that people are going to go nuts trying to gain access to one ASAP. Maybe you will find one that has not been beat on for me haha! I do like the special colors the green or multi shades, even the metallic gray or silver to be slightly low pro!
I'm happy with my 2015 GTR .. amazing how detuned they are from stock .. I'm at 850 whp ..maybe 1000hp crank ?? .. before that just a good tune and intakes I was ~620 whp ..
It's a 1LE which has tons of aero for road courses and creates a ton of drag the higher in speed you go. It's focused more on high speed cornering than straight line speed. They need a regular ZL1. They always do stuff like this on this channel.
@@sebastianbriones9597 They do and it's usually traction & gearing. Less sophisticated traction control systems than the Germans usually being the culprit. Harder to make use of the power from a dig. C8 Corvette seems to have gotten it right. Ford GT too but that's an entirely different price bracket.
Man, the fact that the GT-R keeps up to modern sports/super cars is insane. No wonder I was such a fanboy back in the day. Honestly, if Nissan would just give it a modern transmission but keep everything else with some new styling, they could probably keep the GT-R around for at least another 5 years without spending too much. The race between the ZL1 and old AMG GT was great! Didn't know it would be that close! I prefer the old AMG GT to the new one though with the weight difference and dry sump system I loved both comparisons today. Today's video was awesome!

from a GTR owner who drove performance models from other makes like Audi R8, BMW M, Merc E63S, Aventador, porsches: Changing to the GTR was the best choice, never regretted until today. It was also the fastest among all and the only car that brings along emotions. the R8 and Aventador was closest to it, the rest was just too tamed and comfortable. They are quick too of course, just not as fast as the GTR even tho its a 2008 model. I rebuilt the whole car from head to toe and it pushes 1100hp now with 1300nm torque.
GTR is insane man. Such an amazing machine. Remember that thing came out in 2009!!!! Still keeping up with 180k super sport cars(I don’t consider the GT a super car)
Man u don't even need that. The m4 comp xdrive would hang with these and most likely win. The new LCI with more HP has already posted a 10.6 quarter mile. So that would 100% win.
In conclusion the Nissan GTR is faster then all of them with similar reaction time on launch. I hope Nissan keeps producing them as new with a power increase. It's certainly capable of making more power reliably.
GT63 is nice but with that added weight they should've added more power. For that price too im getting cars like McLaren 570 Spyder or McLaren GT, 991.2 Turbo S, Audi R8 V10 Spyder, C8 Z06 or E Ray
People seem to forget that the Mercedes cars are heavy cars with lots of leather, wood and other luxurious features in them that the other cars don't have. It makes them heavy so it's not just about the engine . So don't be surprised that Nissan sort of still keeps up with them.
