I went to a main dealer last week and they offered me £18500 for main I shook his hand and walked out they have dropped in price dramatically.

Yes very tough choice between them. In terms of the driving dynamics I would say the GTI Clubsport will still be ahead of the Golf R in the facelift versions due to the less weight in the front wheel drive setup of the Clubsport. I also experienced it in the MK8 version and felt the car was setup more aggressively with its suspension compared to a MK8 R. Hopefully I will have the chance in the future to share on the channel what the MK8.5 versions of both cars are like should VW release an R version to help with your decision should you decide to change from your MK7.5 GTI PP

Great car and very much more into the premium section now. Brand new hot hatches are hard to come by in 2024 and for sure with all the options this is likely to be over £50,000, on par with a Civic Type R in fairness, however I will be interested to know the starting price as not all the options maybe essential 🤔

There’s some good BMW deals on the one series there’s 135i M sport X drives for £40k with low rates of financing & not very big deposits. The 128ti looks decent good specs & low rate of finance

@@jamesbrowne7601 I was going to say the same, I have a 128ti currently but considering a change to a M135i. However, the new F70 1 Series is due very soon. The build quality of the BMW is much better than competitors IMO, however its good to see VW have upped their game with the MK8.5.

@@billionbear There’s a dealer near me that’s got the white 135iM sport for £360-90 per month with £4k deposit 48 month deal at 3.9% the blue ones are a bit more but only £30-40 extra per month. Haven’t seen anyone else offering these sort of deals apart from Ford on the Puma

I'm hoping by the back end of next year there might be some 8.5 GTIs used on sale maybe, only way I'll be able to afford one I could get a mk8 but I think the 8.5 is a big improvement in terms of style and the interior so I don't know I really want a golf GTI 🤣

@@SamAustin I like Volkswagen but if you can get a BMW 135i M sport or Mercedes A class AMG for the same price & better rates of finance you have consider them & then save your money for the repairs when they come out of warranty 😂😂

You can get finance deals from dealers... the further north you go in the UK the better the monthly payments (a colleague has a Mk8 Golf R, bought it in Coventry, we're based in Hampshire)

Me too and I see your point about the gloss black. I personally have found it all okay in my MK7 Golf R....just a wipe down every couple of months does the trick. Gloss black interior console is not available on all model from my knowledge on the facelift.....it was not present on the MK8.5 Match version I spent time with last week. Great little car this one and I look forward to sharing more of it on the channel in the future 👍

@SamAustin Well as you know Sam if I'm going to buy a new 8.5 its possibly going to be either the GTI or Now the GTI Clubsport or the R but going by what possible prices are going to be it maybe that I will go for the new facelift Cupra Leon as the interior alone is matt finish everywhere the Golf is Gloss black!!😬 But anyway lets wait & see!!🤷🏼‍♂️🤞🏻👍🏻

Sam what one of the Different versions will have 4 Wheel drive the just the R!!🤔

Pretty big difference in the headlights..... And the bumper.

Front bumper where the licence plate sits is flushed and more streamlined. Not as frumpy looking compared to the MK8. Headlights are slimmer and more aggressive.
