RE: Push 3 : I felt disappointed because they did not offer a trade-in program for my Push 2. Shelving out so much money for a small incremental update on totally new hardware, without being able to trade-in my Push 2, resulted in a no-go from my side. I’ll stick to my Push 2 for now, but I’m curious to see what Novation and Arturia have up their sleeves in 2024… Happy New Year Sanjay!

Great stuff and Happy New year to you all! On the spatial audio thing... I think it needs to be proven that people actually want their music this way. It seems very niche and quite impractical (most people don't have all those high quality speakers in their setups). Trade shows are often misleading. I was at CES a bunch of years ago and it was 3D TVs everywhere. How did that go? Does anyone actually own a 3D TV? Then, 2 years later, it was 8k+ TV. 4K was old news and we all need 8K or more. Well, it seems for most people 4K is fine. Only a select few own better. So it is not only about the tools to make the content (as you mentioned and I agree), it's also about the actual desire from the consumer ro listen to it.

Maschine MK4 is my prediction. Native Instruments replied to a comment on their RU-vid channel that they haven’t abandoned the Maschine software and they are working behind the scenes to improve and. implement it with their new keyboards. 🤞

I have loved my Dynaudio NFM's for over 20 years now. They are so perfect, I can get a great mix for every listening environment and speaker type just by mixing down through my set of 8" near field monitors. I'd love to see Dynaudio take that speaker knowledge and apply it to the stage environment. I'd say to the 300-400 seat venue size, 2000-3000 watts, where sound quality still matters over pressure and volume.

I expect more plug-ins to use our GPU. GPU Audio and SWAM just announced a partnership this year, which I'm really looking forward to. Then I want to highlight another piece of gear I got from a Kickstarter this year, that did not receive any love on this channel: intuitive instruments' exquis. It's a well arranged MIDI 2.0 pad controller with a minimalistic yet clever design. It's never been easier to play chords on a pad instrument while allowing you to get out of your configured key and scale, as those notes are only highlighted and not locked in, like it's the case with many other pad controllers. I wished it had a display, but it generally works without it, once you memorize all the button combinations.

1) Better noise reducers 2) MPC and other live Hardware incorporate drum sequencers as a creative option. Not everyone knows how to finger drum. Also arrangement grid for building out and structuring loops thus creating full songs again as a creative option. 3) Chord features on keyboards...

For me it was C + S. Which is actually quite a surprise really as I was expecting the Adam's to have a better top end, but to my ears the Neumann sounded better, despite being a dome tweeter. Been thinking of getting the KH150's from Neumann, or the Adam Audio A8H, and after this I'm actually leaning towards the Neumann's now.

Yup, looking forward to Arturia doing a MK3 of Keylab. The aspect that would be the most important for me personally is more expression, whether it’s using polyphonic aftertouch/MPE. And on that note (see what I did there 😉), utilising MIDI 2.0. I don’t think a large screen a la KONTROL-S is necessary, but improvements are welcomed. Well, I ended up getting more plugins than I thought I would this year. Maybe slow it down even more this upcoming year? 😆. Actually, I’m hoping for less of them as it seems to be oversaturated (no pun intended). I understand it’s a business and incredibly competitive. At the same time, it seems we are swamped and spoiled with choice. In the end, we just need to do it. Personally, I don’t mind the “bloat” I have done for myself because I like having choice, I’ve found ways to manage it all and it’s all a journey anyway. But at the same time, how many times can you make a particular processor? Another thing you could have pointed out for 2023 was the rise of dedicated vocal processors like Sonnox Voca or the Vocal Chain that came with Cubase 13 (Pro and Artist). Given what I’ve said about the abundance of plugins, there will probably be more that will focus on workflow improvements, whether it’s dedicated instrument ones or more “intelligent” ones. But even those are starting to get overdone. But in the end, keep making music. For myself, I’m working on the follow-up to City of Vices (and yes, both of them have and will have taken advantage of these new acquisitions 😉). Goodbye 2023, hello 2024.

Quick question. I just got the Volt 176 and when I try to use it on FL Studio it just bottle necks and crackles but plays other music like YT with no issue. Also hooked my focusrite up and worked fine. Any fix??

I experienced Dolby Atmos for the very first time at the CONSAM 2023 in Mexico (btw you´re invited for the 2024 one in December ) and I wasn´t really pleased by the sound of it, I tested MY own mixes, Old songs like 90´s, 80´s etc and even Records MADE for Dolby Atmos and it was like a "candy ear" sometimes but it´s not worth it IMO

MOTU should add digital in/outs on the m2 and m4 to help expand it like what Audient has. They should also have the m2 and m4 compatible with the MOTU mixing software so you can create headphone mixes. It would be great if you could also use the mixing software with your plugins.

I’m a Maschinist with an ANCIENT axiom midi controller who didn’t get the last iteration of the Komplete Kontrol because I was waiting on a new model and it isn’t as good feature wise. So I want something with MPE, connectability with Komplete and Arturia beyond what my current axiom has from 10-15 years ago. While I use arturia, my rig is Native Instruments based. So while a new flagship Keylab MIGHT be the move, I feel like it’s too specific.

If we get a new Arturia MK 3 update I hope that we get something more on the polyphonic expression side. I want an update to the screen with the ability to tilt it towards the player on a slanted angle so that it’s easier to see while sitting down. My biggest request for arturia is to add a touch screen dedicated to synth control by hand. Motional Pad Control: It would be amazing to bend sounds and push sounds into 360 degrees of spatial mixing. Last but not least better drums placed on the right side of the keyboard.

I expect Maschine and MPC upgrades next year. A half-sized Push 3 would be nice for the couch. PS: I wonder why gear companies don't offer more NAS access (Samba / NFS). People have sample libraries in TB range, so it makes total sense to share on (W)LAN. I'm using a NAS with Koala and Ableton 👍.

I definitely hope there's an updated Keylab flagship keyboard. I need to buy a MIDI controller and I'm waiting for a bigger screen and all the features! I'd also like to see a multi-track groovebox / mini keyboard from IK Multimedia. In my dreams, I hope for a modern MicroKorg with a better screen and built-in sequencer.

I upgraded my Komplete for 2024 to Standard. It's amazing! I bought a lot of great Waves plugins in 2023 too. Also got an Arturia KeyLab Essential 61. I've started work on a new album for 2024 too. It's called 'Hate no more'... But is really me venting all my hate so I can process it somehow, (metal). Music is therapy for me.

The only uad plugin i want is the neve preamp and still unsure if its native yet or not. I sold my deluge and while i miss it i definitely dont regret buying the push 3. Shits a beast for me even with its shortcomings. It will continue to get better with updates. People often forget groove boxes only can go so far until they just become another daw in a box. Might as well stick with a laptop if you want it all

my 2024 wishlist: Omnisphere 3.0 with full support for MPE and a new audio engine that is at least as good as UHE Diva, Gforce OB-E/OB-X, and UVI Falcon. Also, it should have full NKS compatibility.…Spectrasonics has some serious catching up to do in these areas. NI Kontakt 8 with FULL support for MPE, also more plug-ins from NI and others with native support for S-series (like in Kontakt 7). Also, full MPE support in Komplete Kontrol. Full MPE support in Yamaha Montage X for external MIDI controllers, such as Osmose and Roli. Imagine connecting an Osmose to a Montage XM with its amazing array of premium sounds… Keyboard, heaven!!

I'm in a similar position with interfaces, having just bought a MOTU M4 -- in the full knowledge that it was released in November 2019. If an updated version is released soon, I can't really think of anything that might be added to it to make it significantly better *for my needs*. It's the best fitting interface I've ever used (all needs met, no unused features; everything is of excellent quality) and has possibly the best Round Trip Latency of any currently available interface in that price bracket.

I'd LOVE to see a new, improved iteration of the already fantastic Keylab, but if a bigger screen comes at the expense of pads and sliders, then I'd rather have the smaller screen. I think NI dropped the ball and then slid in the mud into a wall on that front. Cold, dead hands, etc. 😉 I'm not sure what else I'd like to see at the moment. Well, other than someone coming to my door with a new, factory sealed Moog One and giving it to me just because. 🤣 Happy New Year!

I want a Roland Verselab MV Flagship 96Khz with 48 VSS digital and Analog tracks with 15 busses which can have 5 inserts, both can be combined, with zen synth pro library built in, mixing and mastering effects (Maselec TG Curvebender and TG Limiter, Roland SRV and SDE 3D reverb and delays with 12 touch inch screen, five plugins on each channel or source 32 drum bass pads.

Although I like the idea of stand alone devices. Imagine a NI keyboard, that could be the perfect stage keyboard, covering any potential need. They could do it, with some sort of NKSX format for solving the issue of not being able to load the GUI. However, the truth is that it would make much more sense to port software to iOS and make a great controller for an iPad. An iPad will add less to the cost, than any built in CPU/storage combination for a relatively small company in the music business, for they even smaller audience of a stand alone unit. Perhaps including a touch enabled display with support for use as an display, that way that product could be used with a mac-mini, with a custom skin for a stand alone version of the software, as well as work with any other computer, if it isn't desired to have a large screen in front of you, or if you also need that computer for other tasks, and offloading the virtual instrument view for that keyboard on to that hardware instead. Like I commented in my push comments, it would have made sense if the stand alone version enabled running ableton inside other daws. Or possibly an instrument with a feature similar to Vienna Ensemble Pro, where you can compliment a new Apple computer with Apple silicon, with storage and RAM to host your plugins, but that would then basically just be a computer in a box, with typical computer hardware to allow users to insert RAM and storage bought from typical computer resellers... But it could have an interface adopted for running with built in display and controllers. But that only makes sense because of the price of RAM and storage for new Apple computers.

A new Novation 61 SL..and...a premium FL Studio offering (maybe called the 61 FL?) would be welcomed. Something with a quiet premium keybed and not entirely cheap hollow plastic. Also something Ive wanted to see for some time now is an all in one premium mix interface. Something like the SSL Big Six but with a control surface layer and proper transport control like the UF1 and with a very premium mastering DAC grade clocking and conversion, and a passive proper monitoring control section with mono and polarity flip. From wither SSL or Universal Audio. Not for $8000 either lol....also the Yamaha MX series could use a refresh big time. Maybe a "MT" series with Montage sounds but streamlined for studio use so it'll have a DAW integration with the 32 stereo outs over usb, maybe even compatible with the new plugin version that Yamaha said they are releasing ink the future and definitely with w quieter premium keybed. A Montage rack or tabletop might be cool also. I understand sales volume has is top of focus but I would definitely buy the rack version especially if it has multi out over usb with a vst editor or some strong daw integration.

I‘d like to see a Machine Drumpad, only the pads, nothing else. I don’t work with the Maschine software, so I can’t make use of the Maschine MIDI controller but I‘d like to have a drumpad with the Maschine pads for playing some finger drums.

A Maschine mk4 with Kontakt & Battery 4 integration plus MIDI standalone capabilities is too much to ask for?(if there's an update firmware with those features for the mk3 that I already have that would be a miracle, let me keep dreaming haha)

Mr Sanjay, there´s one type of gear you NEVER review and I would love to see that in your channel for 2024 and that´s ELECTRIC DRUM KITS , I ended up buying an Alesis Surge Mesh kit cause they didn´t ship the Command or the Strike to my country but I would like to know about more brands and options out there

I would really love for Ableton Live 12 to become the best of the best DAW EVER! Allowing Native Instruments Traktor and Serato integration better, plus having the stem separation and more. Letting it be producers one stop shop. Have a safe and happy new year. 💝

And I would love Ableton Live 12 on my ipad! Now we have M1 chips on tablets, Logic Pro was ported to iPadOS, now it's time for Ableton to do the same 😁 Using a Daw with a touch interface is game changing

😂 good luck.. first they would need to fox their routing system so you can actually mix properly with real bussing capabilities along with submasters etc etc. And the fact they just told me recently that some old vst2s woule no longer work moving forward if an updated plugins version had a different id is a joke. Ableton can kick rocks. Done with that daw outside of exporting older projects to be mixed in pro tools

Hi, Sanjay, thank you for another Saturday top quality video of yours. I’m almost sure my purchase of 2024 will be the flagship Arturia Keylab (would have purchased the Arturia Essential if it offered Aftertouch, which it doesn‘t), although I’m also fond of a Novation MK 4 that you at least mentioned. My interest in the Korg keyboard controller which will be released soon has diminished. Don‘t think I‘ll buy it. Predictions? When I see that all the plugin producers want to sell their plugins at a bargain prize I think that they are developing their plugins with AI abilities. That means that AI will dominate the plugin-world of the future. For me such a plugin that does the all the work for me should be an EQ. An AI-EQ-Plugin, a top One Knob AI plugin, e. g. would be my dream, one that corrects harshness, boominess, necessary de-essing, etc. automatically. I’m sure such a thing is possible! Have a nice New Year‘s Eve and all the best for 2024.

Talking about Standalone gear, remember the old Arturia Origin? Wish they’ll make an Origin MkII using modules, effects and other elements from V-Collection - with modern day tech, it would be a lot more stable, flexible and speedier than the original Origin.

If Arturia released the keylab with their entire collection, including pigments, in standalone…. It would be the greatest digital synth of all time. Make it usb c, give it the same i/o as the korg keystage and it’s instant purchase from me. Audio over USB, as well as a sequencer like the KeyStep… too good

The upgrade kits to standalone are available now, they managed to get them out just before the end of the year like they said they would. Same specs as before for now.

I'm a little late on this but I'm hoping to see GPU Audio get their API out. I'm hoping to try their API out and maybe develop some plugins with it. I look forward to seeing what products will use it.

I am a pipe organ player. I enjoy a great pipe, Oregon and Cathedral, Oregon and small chamber organs along with the chimes hop and Vibephone I would like to see more sounds of this at a reasonable cost that you can buy individually I’m not a rock ‘n’ roll artist, but I’m strictly church, music and classical music. I would like to see more of this type of thing come out that you can buy at a reasonable cost
