Klay Thompson won't be your typical free agent. He's not gonna go to just any contender, he's not just gonna go to the highest bidder. He's not going to New York or Philadelphia. He's not going somewheres cold or anywheres he might get booed, he sensitive. He's either re-signing with GS or going to play with James.

If lebron dips if im the lakers im def consider full rebuild. AD cannot be 1.A and i doubt they can get a 1.A to replace bron this summer. Then you just risk next season being just good enough for your pick to be meh but nowhere near good enough to win.
Unlikely to happen given NOP will likely own their pick in the 2025 draft (Lakers will probably pick up their pick this season) as well as owing their 2027 pick Top 4 protected. I dont disagree with your last statement, but we've seen front offices remain stubborn to protect their own jobs and interests and dont think LAL will revert back to the pre-LBJ era given how long that took.
Jrue Holiday to the Spurs would be absolutely perfect for them. He plugs one of their biggest defensive gaps while bringing in elite shooting and solid passing chops. Also, since his pts total is down, the Spurs would probably be able to pick him up for less than if he was going crazy this year.
Dang it. Idk why he even put Jrue on the list. He's got a player option for $40M ini 24-25. Unless he signs an extension for similar money, there's no way he doesn't pick that up.

beasley and klay are around the same level at this point. Beasley may even be better bc he doesnt expect star level touches and has better shot selection

Proven winner, performed at the highest level and won’t be scared of the moment. If your comparing percentages sure they are roughly the same. But no way I’m taking Beasley over klay in a playoff series. Not really close in my opinion

Klay isn’t going anywhere. No team will be dumb enough to pay him a lot. Lebron’s ego won’t permit him to sign elsewhere for MLE. He leaves LA only for the Cavs, or not at all.
I think its overall bad for the NBA if a max player or any player take a significant pay cut. Sure, that player have a higher chance of winning, but I think its damaging to the competitive integrity that is somewhat being questioned already.
@@bart6208 No it doesn't because then all the star players, or more of the star players can go to one team. It may not work out like the Nets with Kyrie, Durant, and Harden, or Harden on the Sixers. In theory, those moves made those teams stronger. It did not turn out that way but that was the theory behind those moves. I know Harden did not take a pay cut in Brooklyn but he did when he signed his extension in Phili. Imagine Lebron, Doncic, Giannis, and Jokic on the same team. That decreases competitiveness throughout the league because the one team has all the star power which makes the league less balanced.
The only way I can see Lebron be able to justify signing for the MLE would be if a team like Cleveland or Miami, that he’s played for already, drafts Bronny.
If I was Lebron, I would want a max contract sign and trade with Spurs, if they are willing. If not max, maybe two years less, so three years with 2 years as player options.

Unless Paul George is willing to take a lesser role and come for the MLE or something like that, I don't see Indiana bringing him back. Just because I think keeping Pascal Siakam is the more important thing for Indiana to do. Not saying it can't happen, I just don't see it until the Siakam situation is resolved. The team with plenty of money to offer max deals though is tied for the worst record in the NBA. Detroit. So I could see DeRozan and George possibly going there. Because Detroit wants to put a couple of guys around Cunningham who can raise their profile. They have plenty of cap space to make it happen. Hell I think they would use a pick to get Bronny James in the second round if they could get LeBron James to sign with them. That is how desperate for talent they are.
I feel like Miami may look at picking up bronny in the second round if they can snag a serviceable big man in the first and Dj Wagner is gone in the second
@@Keedz Possible. But I think he is still very unlikely to declare in the draft this low. I think he would look to raise his profile with a fully healthy season and see what he can really do. This would allow LeBron to pick up the option and wait a year, knowing he is likely to have to take a significant paycut for any team that drafts his kid.

This is going to be a pretty lame free agency class. Most of the big names are questionable, at best, to be free agents in the summer. It's why I find Spurs and Wemby fans to be so delusional when they say that they have so much cap space and can build upon Wemby and their 16 win record to be "scary". Like sign who? And those signings will magically add 30+ wins to the team? If Wemby just plays 5 minutes more per game as well? Like are they even hearing themselves?

Lebron wouldnt ever sign a minimum. I love the guy, he's my GOAT, but dude values his money and time. Hell make sure he's paid for that properly. I don't think he ever takes a minimum, I can see a possibility where he signs a 1+1 on a 20 million/year deal maybe.....But there are teams including the Lakers that'll be offering 30+ for the guy. He just brings way too much value to an organization outside of basketball to justify the price. Sponsors, ticket sales, and generally post-season runs, jersey sales, marketing opportunities. Even if I was Charlotte, id be eying an offer in that range for him. Even if the Lakers suck, they'll be getting the monetary value of his spot on the roster back and much more. Its a business move to sign Lebron and he knows it.
Kinda grasping for straws here tbh. Absolutely no shot we see guys like Lebron, Jrue, or OG on the move, and it's quite unlikely to see Siakam move either. It's really just Klay and Demar, two guys on the wrong side of 30 on the decline.

Klay is washed. I'm going to love if a team gives him a huge bag because he is going to be one of the worst contracts in the league. He's played well in a few games since moving to the bench, playing against teams second units. Congrats champ. Really soured on this guy after he started being a dick to every reporter after he started playing like shit.
