Although I have never met you 2 in person, having followed The Random Show and your individual endeavors throughout the years, (14-15 years at this point) I would also like to express my gratitude to both of you for being a constant inspiration and an example to follow in many aspects. I wish you both a fantastic New Year and keep inspiring us to do more and be better humans
Same here. Listened to the audio and switched to video once Kevin started his gratitude speech to take it all in. Deeply grateful for these conversations! Much love! ❤️
Listening to you two every year has become such a lovely New Year’s tradition for me. Thank you so much for being so open and generous. I wish I had grown up seeing more good role models like yourselves. Cheers to a great 2024 for everyone! 🎉
Same here, I don't listen to the podcast much anymore, but I don't miss any random show. There is just always just something inspiring to take with you and It always makes me laugh. Even though I don't know Tim or Kevin on a personal level, but I feel like I do a little bit through these episodes. And further more maybe because we have been growing together for over 10 years now (that's how long I have been following KevKev and TimTim). It just always has been a part of me as an adult.
This was a pure blast! Kevin is incredibly changed after ketamine sessions. Soooo much love and understanding and calm wisdom puring out of him. Tim, as always great attitude. Allowing yourself to hear nice words from Kevin.
No matter what's going on in my life I will always make time to listen to a Random Show. I'm old enough to have followed both of you before you knew eachother and watching this powerhouse of a friendship blossom has been one of the great joys of my life. From coming home after school and watching Kevin Rose's Dark Tips on TTV, the rise and fall of Revision 3, Digg and going to the live Diggnation here in Arizona, starting my first little business with 4HWW by my side, cooking a Sexy Time Steak for my girlfriend who's now my wife and mother of my kid, and the list goes on. I can't thank you guys enough for continuing to inspire me to do and be more. Can't wait for the next one.
omg can someone please direct me to where to get that pilates ball Tim is using in this video that he just showed us?? I can't find it online. Many many thanks 🙏
So lovely for you to talk about your relationship and love for Molly. I got my first dog 2 years ago and I couldn't agree more, it fundamentally changes you. I feel now everyone should have the dog experience. I’ll always have one now. Thank you Tim ❤
Great talk as always. As for the dark tipper excited for your video podcast reboot! Been watching since the early days. Did anyone mention the backdrop? I don't recall but see it was recorded in Austin but that view was low key spectacular. Cheers to you guys + HNY.
Got in on the app thank you! 🙏 I just started meditating a bit more again recently. I really like the idea of it not having a ton of choices in the app and just having an experience on rails that is one way. Good luck with it
The movie Thirteen Lives (based on true events relating to the 2018 Thai Soccer Team Cave incident) has brilliant piece about how Ketamine played a role in the rescue. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, one of my favorite movies in recent time.
Caffeine blocks your REM-sleep, that‘s probably why it felt so good without it. Thank you TimKev for sharing bits of everyday wisdom combined with the right amount of humour. Happy New Year
Love you guys. Been following both of you since Diggnation. Always my favourite and love seeing you both evolve through the years. But damn how you both didn’t cry during the end comments I’ll never know. Wishing you both every happiness. Big love x
I totally didn't tear up during the end of this podcast. I've been listening and watching these two guys for more than 10 years. And in the spirit of telling people how you feel about them, you guys have been like big brothers to me.
A touch tamer New Years show, dog paws and nft's have a connection that is less than obvious. Long year filled with serious issues involving Character and Comfort and in some ways just being human.
Random are the best episodes. Super inspiring conversation about quitting coffee for a while but all that talk about the sauce made me pause and go make a fresh cup of coffee nectar. 😂
About the coffee ☕️ How MUCH coffee does an average person drink? I never experienced withdrawal symptoms, call me European… but I drink a very small amount of coffee each morning. Do you guys think it can be the quantity intake that is causing problems for most people?
I bet Tim’s co-author is Cal Newport, and this is the Deep Life book Cal’s been referring to. This collaboration makes since because Tim inspired Cal, and Cal has now inspired Tim. They can work well together because they both suffer from similar types of ambition.
When Tim describes the release of his back pain when he allows himself to feel the emotional pain of his breakup, he mentions Sarno, but kind of debunks Sarno at the same time. I'm surprised Tim is relying on 20-30 year old info on this super dynamic research area of neuroplastic pain. Sarno didn't understand all the mechanisms, but we've come a long ways since then. Check Bessel van der Kolk, Alan Gordon, Howard Schubiner, the Boulder Back Study, Nicole Sachs, the Curable App and many other more recent developments in this area. Tim could be of service to millions who suffer needlessly from chronic pain by making these concepts that he has now self-witnessed known to others.
From The Broken through today, Kevin has continued to inspire my own growth and interests. The year end Random Shows/Kevin Rose podcasts with Tim are always something I look forward to. It was so heartwarming to see Tim’s face beaming after Kevin’s kind words which clearly meant a lot to him. This year end episode felt much more emotional than prior episodes. Cheers to you guys and thanks for giving a renewed reminder to tell your friends you love them!
I'm sure a lot of people say it, but I first heard the phrase, "No solutions, only trade-offs," from Dr. Lane Norton on the Hubermanlab podcast. Genius saying!
Lil bit late to the party here on 4/16 great discourse. Curious if either of you have heard of access consciousness energetic bars session effects upon depression/suicidal ideation and more? I am hearing/learning of profound and lasting results with this modality.
I used to take modafinil before bed and it actually fixed my circadian rhythm. But I wouldn't recommend it, mostly because I'm not a doctor, I'm a nobody, so if you take my advice then you also better send me money, lol. Don't do what I do.
It looks like you guys would benefit from a caffeine expert on the show to answer some of those questions that you raised and remained unanswered. Someone like the Matt Walker or Huberman of caffeine.
I can see the vision of doing this as Tim and Kevin gets older. And then recommending tools like the best walking stick, good nose hair trimmers and the best old age people home. I’m the same age so it’s funny. Kevin sounds high on Ketamine the whole episode.
I like to think of Tim as a practical scientist, not a theoretical, but a practical, because he's going to try and see if it work, not just talk about it.
The advisory roles are something i just got into in 2023 in my clinical research industry and something i want to work more on in 2024. Thanks for paving the way for this past decade or more!
Wait, is Tim Ferriss saying he doesn't know where "No solutions, only trade-offs" comes from? Can I still trust someone in his position that doesn't recognize one of the most iconic Thomas Sowell quotes? I mean, I can understand if he knows the quote and forgot the origin, but he seemed to not even be familiar with the quote.
Hey Boys, this might have been the best Random Show, so many interesting detours, you're great together, Kevin: just make the new podcast doing more of this 1-1 with Tim...Thanks from Ottawa Canada
Re Michael Singer: I’d suggest starting with “The Untethered Soul” first and then transitioning to “The Surrender Experiment”. It’s like laying the canvas before painting.
Best Random Show. Done my first PYR yesterday, it was great. Tim, fellow companion via head phones. Thanks so much for great new episodes this year. Keep it up and I wish us here all a great new year. Cheers.
All I can say as a 58 year old retired Wall St male is wow. So real, so raw, so honest and so very helpful. Really appreciated the vulnerability, transparency, empathy with which it was delivered. Keep it up my brothers!
This was so wonderful!!!! And relevant on so many levels. For example, I have recently had surgery for a brain aneurysm (hope yours stays small Kevin) and I've been struggling with unexplainable back pain that has left me in agony these past few weeks no matter what treatment I've done!!! I'm now convinced it's the stress as it started randomly 2 days before my last angiogram! Anyway, happy new year to you both! Love ya's 😍
Man, I've been following you two for over 10 years and really love seeing you both get together. Best wishes to a great start to 2024, Tim & Kevin! Happy New Year 💖 Thank you for the continued inspiration and teachings, particularly, this year.
Tim, seriously for you low back issue, learn anything about PRI (Postural Restiration Institute). Neal Hallinan has great educational content on this..
But u two didn't hug and say u all love each other for one minute at the end of the video to show us all what it really means to love ur friend. Too tpot, too intellectual, let's add this in next random show.
Kevin! You should look into the dog aging project or just putting your dog on rapamycin to help with the decline. Can restore a bit of health span and provide longevity.
These random show episodes that drop before new year actually make my holidays feel special. You two talking is actually grounding, fun nad warms my heart. Been listening for so many years.
Is there somewhere with more info about what Kevin was talking about with iOS and using the google fi number as a backup? Like a guide or something on that
