It's definitely a blow to the gut once you become older than most of the players drafted. It happens again when you see all of the great players you grew up watching turn into the veterans and start to look old. Watching Matt Ryan last year really got to me, I vividly remember sitting on my moms couch watching the new young gunslinger at BC Matt Ryan. It's rough man, I'll be 30 this year so pretty much all of my favorite players from my younger years are gone now.
Quinn Ewers reclassified; he skipped his senior year of HS and went to OSU for NiL. He is a true sophmore age wise. He was a true freshman last year starting for Texas
JJ McCarthy has so many tools going for him. Great athlete, great arm strength, elite football character. He just needs more snaps. His Jekyll and Hyde prospect profile was perfectly represented in the TCU game
Cam Ward has a ton of potential with all of his tools. I feel like he flashed WAY brighter than Spencer Rattler did early on to get the hype he had. I think Ward could be the guy that gets everything a lil more polished & shoots up boards next year. Grayson McCall is gonna end up making it to the NFL & having at least a Kirk Cousins/Derek Carr type of career.
Glad to get some confirmation bias on Jordan Travis lol. That guy just popped whenever I watched him and I never heard much about him before watching some of his tape like 4 months ago .
@@libertyaboveall5960 I don’t have all that many fond IU football memories considering they’re never a great football team. But that game is definitely one of them - albeit slightly controversial haha
Y’all are forgetting something major about Ewers’ tape after the Alabama game.. he was playing with an injury to his throwing shoulder… the Alabama tape was healthy Quinn Ewers, after that he’s not healthy which is while you see inconsistency and less accuracy during pressure.. when my shoulder is torn apart I’m gonna anticipate the pain that comes with making this throw and the hit that comes after it.. don’t forget context guys
The Tennessee Vols "rocket arm" QB Joe Milton will probably be drafted in one the later rounds. He will of course be developed in the NFL by some team.
1. Caleb Williams 2. Michael Penix 3. Quinn Ewers 4. Drake Maye 5. Jordan Travis To be fair I haven’t watched Cam Ward tape he might be above Travis because I wasn’t in love with him Jaxson Dart, DJ U. And Grayson McCall are all getting slept on coming into this year.. I think DJ could develop nicely at the nfl level in the right situation
while certainly different looking release styles, ewers reminds me some of philip rivers. you wouldn't coach it that way, but it's natural looking for them nonetheless
"Unique arm talent that can roll and move the pocket one way, then deliver with velocity to the other side of the field in advantageous coverage" I immediately thought mahomes when conner said that.
ouuuuuuuhhh lol you bois have done it now! muhahaha lets Caleb simp 😎I've been thinking of giving him the nickname/moniker, "The Calebrity" is this a good one or no?
Allow me to add to the Simping, there was play, i think it was in the 1st Utah game, where he has an unblocked blitzer, he knows he's coming and i forget if he either claims the pocket or spins out or he just stands there takes the hit and delivers the ball between the corner and the safety in zone with touch and when i tell you i haven't lost my mind so hard since i saw Patrick Mahomes fire a go ball down the field vs LSU and flex on everyone before the throw was even caught. understand what i mean when i say this Celeb is the dude to me, he's the true heir to the claim of generational. i genuinely haven't seen another guy like him since Elway. once in a lifetime potentially. My mind will break if QB's can get any better than this.
Bo Nix physical ability wise reminds me a ton of Trubisky but with 5 years of college experience I think he will have a way easier time developing in the nfl.
Penix all the way back in 2020 almost carried my Hoosiers to a win over OSU. Think about how crazy that is; we are talking about a program as bad as Iu. His best wr was UDFA ty Fryfogle🤣
Drake Maye looks so great on a stat sheet but when you watch him play there’s not much thinking to his game.. lots of half field reads, two step progression, then tuck and run.. scares me
I was hoping Bo Nix came out last year mid-season when the Colts weren’t looking like the pure bottom of the barrel to get someone good in the middle of round 1. Luckily we tanked for Richardson at the end though.
Wouldn’t put so much on the throwing motion of ewers. Just look at guys like mahomes, rodgers, lamar, and allen all have unconventional releases and motions. The game is moving towards more of a slinger release to help with rpo and quick game passing
With absolutely no mental game.. pre snap and post snap reads, understanding protections, how you get through your progressions and accuracy are the things that translate to the pros.. KJ doesn’t excel at any of those things
Everyone is sleeping on Jordan Travis. While he has physical limitations, he has better intangibles than everyone in this class outside of Caleb. His work ethic, leadership, and hunger to win are truly special.
Caleb is a great QB, BUT PLEASE STOP!!!!! pretending this guy is over 6' or over 200lbs, Do an Image search of him & Lincoln Riley( listed between 5'7 &5'10) or Jordan Addison( who just went through the combine & measure at 5'11 173) Caleb is not as tall as Lincoln or 40lbs heavier than Addison. His stock is gonna rely on Kyler Murray bouncing back & Bryce young not getting destroyed in Carolina.
Ewers is the most accurate thrower I’ve seen in a while and it’s so effortless.. I didn’t know his game until I broke the tape down, but once I did watch I was like holy shit he doesn’t miss.. his receivers couldn’t catch Covid in a wuhan lab last year..
Love the evaluations but you missed the mark on Caleb Williams cons and it felt intentional. Williams constantly demonstrates a lack of maturity and self awareness. He plays and carries himself with a sense of entitlement. Lacks humility in losing and shows signs of being a toxic leader. Caleb Williams is an extremely fun player to watch and he has elite level tools and playmaking ability but his character, leadership and maturity is extremely worrisome. He has generational QB talent with a 1st round bust attitude.
If panthers finish with the worst record the bears will take Caleb Williams regardless of anything fields does for the bears! No way the GM poles passes up Williams who he can have on a 6yr deal and get picks for fields in return. Any bears fans who loves fields better pray panthers don’t finish #1
As an Eagles fan, Justin Fields is not the guy for the Bears. He always getting sacked all the time in every game. He's not the QB the team was hoping for since the 2021 NFL Draft and they won't make the 2023 playoffs since he's still not an good enough Bears starting QB. The Bears will end up parting ways with Justin Fields and draft an QB in the 2024 NFL Draft like Grayson McCall from Coastal Carolina University who has an great cannon of throwing the football, has won alot of awards at that college and helped CCU make the playoffs alot in his career. Grayson McCall will be the Bears new starting QB in the 2024 season after Justin Fields is off the team when the 2023 season is over. Grayson McCall will look great in an Bears jersey to be sold in stores in future. Justin Fields needs to go anyway. Go for Grayson McCall to replace Justin Fields as your new starting QB in 2024 in the upcoming draft so bye bye Justin Fields.
@@chandler2I will go as far and say if Williams came out in 2023 bears don’t trade the pick and fields is in Carolina and Carolina picks Wright still who he and fields are traded for
I mean clearly this comment was meant to ruffle some feathers but realistically I think at times he’s overly confident in his abilities and is dependent on completely open receivers.
@@michaelpelchat5579 Exactly. He has a little diva in him too. Im not sure where the diva comes from or how serious it is but just give me Maye and call it a day
@@iurunner34 Wheres the diva coming from? are you referring to the F*** Utah nails thing? depending on perspective Drake Maye is as big a Diva as they come.
