I drive a lot from California to New York got a really good deal on a 2021 Altima SL. Was kind of hesitant on buying it at first because of all the talk about how bad CVT’s are but 2 years later and 320,00 miles later I actually really like this car, comfortable, I get around 41-46 mpg driving 65 mph from Cali to NY, and has not gave me a single issue whatsoever
The latest Altima is reliable and trouble free, however you've to keep it well maintained with regular timely service and the CVT gear oil must be replaced as recommended by Nissan. I work at Nissan middle east and it's our top seller model in Dubai. Wishing you many trouble free miles
@desertblade1874 the previous generation is reliable, also. My 2018 has not made any unplanned trips to the service department other than for faulty batteries from the manufacturer.
I have a 2015 Altima. It has been a great car. I don’t drive aggressively or too hard, so I’ve had nothing but smooth rides so far. I would like a new one soon, though.
I also have a 2015 with 120,000 miles on it and have driven from Illinois to Colorado and back the last 3 years in a row with it and it honestly still feels brand new. And I drive going 90mph basically the whole way there and back lmao. I'm gonna drive it until the CVT explodes on me like everyone has been saying will happen
Too bad Nissan won't drop their corporate 9spd transmission with optional AWD on the VC engine trim. That would a very competitive option in this class vs the Camry and Accord.
@Brian_Eugene_Lee Nissan redesigned thier cvt in 2019 by adding a torque converter and replacing weak links and improved software for simulated shifting ( 8spds). My 2019 has right at one hundred thousand on the original and it works great still. Change the fluid every 30 thousand miles and your good.
Wow! You are really concerned about the tail lights? 2019 the altima got some of the best front led headlights on all the models. Going down the road at 80 mph , personally I love how far you can see ahead of you. With auto dimming high beams and some with led fog lights too. The rear lights are just as good as they need to be.
I rented 24’ SR model in Utah. For some reason it felt under powered going through mountain roads. Once you go past 60 mph then it’s fine. Going up hill the car was struggling. In the east coast, this car would be great, but for southwest region of USA, it struggles a bit.
If 2025 is the end of Altima it'll be very sad. They should go all out though. 310 hp, diamond stich seats pano roof, and ambient lighting. The body kit looks solid enough
Please test a VC-T model like mine. Not sure if I misunderstood this video. The Premium package does have leather appointed seats. It has the orange perforations. Mine looks the same. Sounded like full leatherette? Otherwise love watching y’all. Grab a VC-T to test soon. Thanks.
I thought about purchasing the Altima SR after my 2016 Altima SR got totaled with 133,000 miles and never had CVT issues. Instead I downgraded to the Sentra SR Premium. Love that car. It's interesting the 2024 Altima has that old traditional key fob, while the 2024 Sentra has a new updated key fob.
My brother is currently having his 2011 ford fusion sport in the body shop for his rear driver door to be fixed after it was smashed by another car that backed into his car. So now while he’s getting it fixed enterprise gave him a 2021 Nissan maxima SV with the black exterior and interior is leather and everything and it’s a really nice car. Nissans are really nice vehicles they almost gave him an Altima but someone got that car that was in front of him in the line at enterprise
I had one as a rental for 2 weeks, it drove great! Comfortable refined and peppy. That rear visibility to horrendous though! The small rear window, the rear deck sloping up and the 3rd brake light makes it so bad. I
Nice review as always. But the truth is Nissan just called the 2023 Nissan the 2024. It is the same car nothing is changed. So in honesty the 2024 altima wasn't made.
Other than headlights, I don’t understand reviewers infatuation with LEDs. Also, the reason that Nissan’s rear legroom is listed as less is that the front seat travel is much greater.
theres a typo at 17:28 how the vc turbo get 35 in the city, 34 on the highway and 29 combined? pretty sure the turbo doesn't get that good fuel economy
Good review gentleman. The JATCO CVT which Nissan has had a poor reliability record so this will be a pass for me. Did a 5 day trip from Boston to Canada and back and it almost blew up reaching the hotel. Would not recommend.
Why did Nissan get rid of dual zone automatic climate control on so many trim levels? It used to be standard on Altima SV trims and higher and now it's only on the SL, I wish that would come back
I like your car reviews, but did you realize the Nissan SR does NOT have AUTO BRAKE HOLD, which is a very important feature to many drivers. Nissan forces buyers to either move up the SV Turbo, or the SL Trim, which are both more expensive. If I'm wrong, please let me know. I would like to purchase the SR Altima, but without brake hold, I will wait for the 2024 Hyundai Sonata to be in the showrooms at the end of this year.
Brake hold is not a big feature that many people care about or even use. That said if you get the SL or any awd model they have brake hold with the electronic parking brake
@@BCJDM Well, that depends on where someone lives. I live in Brooklyn, NY. Every other block there's a stop light. I have a brake hold in my current car, a 2022 KIA Forte GT, and I'm so glad I have it. If other's experienced it, they may say, I wish all my previous cars had it. In stop and go traffic, where rural areas may not experience this very often, it a great way to rest your right leg and the bottom of your right foot. As well, I shouldn't have to upgrade to the SL for $2,000-$3,000 more in order to get something so basic, even my $27,000 KIA Forte GT came with it.
You've got to be kidding me. I have to spend more money on the next trim up to get rear vents. Soon we'll need to go to the next trim level to get the tires.
That picture was a great example of an average altima 💀. These are not only the most popular cars on the road. Its the most dangerous too. According to me or course 😌.
@@christopherfleetwood3229 you mean 200kms not 200k miles right don’t worry it’s coming let us know when it happens I’m not trying to be negative but it’s coming 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Too bad it doesn't come with the 1.5L VC-turbo that the Rogue has standard. That extra torque would've been nice. The 2L turbo is great, but as someone that shops used/CPO, the standard engine is pretty much all that matters to me.
God, for that price you could get a Kia K5 EX with premium package. 8 speed dual clutch automatic, 12 speaker Bose, heated steering, dual zone automatic climate and on and on. Plus the 5 year, 60K warranty. This is no value... I hate to see how high this goes when you add the goodies.
My boo better not buy this car and try outrunning the police!!!! You’ll never beat them Shyam so don’t ever try it!!! Spend that energy buying me a Bimmer for my phat yams!!!!
@@texan903I have a 2021 K5 I’m not sure what you’re on about. It’s the best driving sedan I’ve ever felt in my life. And I’m coming from a 2018 Toyota Camry SE
