I like your review. You drove the versa the way it’s intended to be driven. Squeezing the throttle instead of stomping it to the floor is the best and most rewarding way to drive the car. And it’s the way I would drive this car. I do not expect this car to be neither quick nor fast. But it does have the capability to get up and go in an acceptable manner for most situations and uses. It sounded surprisingly quiet while you were driving it around. A nice plus.

For me, the Versa is an excellent option as a first vehicle. Good video and greetings

Ive been completely satisfied with my 2017 nissan sentra and its got all of the features I wanted for what I got it for. its the mid SV trim with Sunroof, Rubber matts with rims and net kit for the trunk. The car was 22,000 dollars back in 2017 so I would assume due to inflation would have been more than likely over 25,000 dollars. I now have 122,000 miles on it.

@@zerocool5395 I live in Texas. Everything here is far. My last car was a 2001 Toyota camry and it had 564,267 miles on it when It got totaled. I got it back in 2004 and got rid of it back in 2022. I always drive a lot because of my job. I just take care of my cars and never have issues with any of them.

@@zerocool5395 Where I live nothing is close. My last car was a 2001 Toyota camry when it made it to over 500,000 miles before my dad totaled it driving it in the rain back in 2021. I had the car since 2004. What's funny is I am still on my original CVT and even at the dealership they are shocked its still working. I do not know how long it will last but if it makes it to 200,000 miles. I will be very happy. I do think it will as its been working just fine since I got it new with 25 miles on it.

Across the lineup including the Versa, Sentra, Altima and Rogue, Nissan has remarkably improved their CVTs compared to where they were at 10 years ago. So much smoother and more responsive to drive nowadays and the complaints of transmission failure has gone way down as well

The majority of people with CVT that had problems are ones that were never serviced and or were run very hard. I have had more trouble out of conventional autos.

Great review thank you. Was curious about these base model Versas. Looked it up on the Nissan site and it seems like the rear seats on these don't fold down unless they're have optional 60/40 rear split. Still neat to see a base model car like this available.

With the "S" trim you can't fold down the second seat. If it did fold down I'd buy one in a minute with the manual transmission. The "SV" trim and upward gives you the folding back seat but no manual. So. . . I'll just keep my 2015 Versa Note.

@drsysop

2022-2024 Versa S does not come with a key fob or keyless entry as my fiend learned the hard way & had to put a aftermarket alarm in to do it. The CVT transmission is very bad & he had to get a replacement on his 2023 at 16k miles. I would recommend you get the 5 speed manual one as I test drove a 2024 one in blue which was surprising they make. The radio is absolute garbage as it does not have HD Radio, SiriusXM, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay on this trim level. The rear seats do not fold down only on the upper trim levels. Getting a aftermarket radio 7 to 10 inch screen to fit this car is impossible as no aftermarket dash kit available. Worst part it's made in Mexico not USA, Canada or Japan & will explain everything as they have poor quality control issues there.
@JamesJones-mg3ts
@JamesJones-mg3ts 3 месяца назад
Don't need the key fob or key-less entry. That stuff is just wasted money. I have the 2019 5 speed and it's rock solid (and yes... with window cranks). $10K new! Yes, CVT sucks and you'll pay thousands more for it (waste of money... just learn how to drive a 5 speed and get a durable car that has low cost of ownership that will outlast any automatic... and cheaper to fix). I'd imagine that _if_ you can't find an aftermarket radio now, you will at some point so not a deal breaker. People get fixated on features they can live without (seduced by car companies... tisk, tisk). I always get the least I can get (less stuff to break and the cost/benefit analysis doesn't justify that "fluff"). Less is better. If you have money to burn on mildly useful overpriced 'fluff' you really don't need, car companies will take you for whatever appetite you have for overspending (and I don't have much of an appetite for overspending)

Wow thank you for the review. Rarely see reviews on the lowest trim. Btw, in your opinion is the cabin noise louder than the corolla le, civic lx/sport or rio, especially from road noise? Because when I drive a civic or corolla, the cabin noise is super loud. To be honest, I feel like the kia rio cabin is quieter than civic and corolla.

Regrding how do you fold down the rear seats on the Base S version of the Versa: You don't. They don't fold down on the S trim level. But, you want to see something actually Basic? Go track down a 1998 Ford Escort sedan. Yeah, drove one for about 5 years until it was totaled. Wouldn't have happened if some obnoxious bean-counter over at Ford hadn't decided that its drivers didn't deserve anti-lock brakes. Crash never would have happened. I'd have lukely driven her for another 5 years. That bean-counter miserable accountant is an old man, today. Assuming he's still alive. He desrves every terrible, horrible thing that ever happened in his life. It's why I woll *never* buy a Ford vehicle again for the rest of my Life. (And yes, back then, anti-lock brakes were cheap enough that you did see them on some economy/basic cars.)

Never fails with these reviews. The car is always some ugly black or gray or white. Just once I would like to see a new car review in which we have a nice bright blue bright green, something to make the car stand out Especially these smaller vehicles because they need to be seen for your safety, with all of the large pickups and big rigs on our roads.
