A 5-minute video about the 2024 Polaris Xpedition ADV. I really like the idea of this machine and wish somebody made it sooner, maybe a little more affordable, however. Is the price a concern for you? I know it is for me. Will you/Would you buy one? Let me know in the comments below. Please be respectful.

no not worth it!!!!! I have a 2024 Polaris Xpedition XP 5 -- WAY TO NOISY - revs too high - apparently according to Polaris customer service - their engineering is DILIGENTLY working on a fix-- I REGRET MY PURCHASE - this is probably due to improper gearing (too LOW) I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MACHINE AT ALL - Please note that there have been HUNDREDS of complaints about this problem and POLARIS is dragging their feet - PS - I have added sound barrier to area behind and under the seats and on the firewall in the engine bay - this helped the noise a bit but the HIGH revs are UNPLEASANT to say the least - OK if you have earplugs or you are hard of hearing - otherwise PASS PS I traded in my 2021 Polaris General and regret it - also the ADV is even nosier that the one with the dump box PS - you have to take off the rear skid plate to get at the oil filter - ridiculous

Thanks for your detailed comment. I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience. I remember people on RU-vid doing reviews of that machine very early on. I remember them saying how incredibly loud the machine was, almost deafening. Their comments appear to be confirmed by your experience.

Yes - I cannot believe it - It is a very expensive machine and should be a lot more refined - I spoke with Gilomen and they have a clutch kit that will drop the RPM by about 2000 BUT their competition Dalton does not believe this is the right approach and believes the problem is with too low a gear ratio (Dalton says there are HUNDREDS of complaints about this) . I then spoke to Hunter Works and they said that their belt will drop the RPM by about 200 (I ordered one) They also suggested putting on 32 inch tires (Yeh right - mine are brand new- what Am I supposed to do with them), So after having a lively discussion with Polaris customer service they assured me a fix is being worked on - so I will have to wait to see what that is - BUT now knowing how Polaris thinks they will probably want to charge for this fix . Please feel free to spread this around - I suspect Polaris may be in for a class action and they deserve it!!!! @@EastCoastATV

I ordered a new defender hd9 DPS cab model. It has all the features I want and the price point of $27800 plus taxes and fees which is just under $32 k here in Alberta. It needs a winch and a few other accessories which can be sourced out aftermarket and installed at home . That new Polaris is an impressive machine but wow prices are crazy these days . I also looked at the ranger North Star , general, and defender limited. All over $45k set up how I would want it. I sold my og commander and have half the new machine paid down before it arrives. At the end of the day if it’s your passion and enjoyment then you spend what works best for you. 🙂.

I have had quite a few SXS machines over the years also 4X4 trucks over the years as well. When you get a SXS stuck you generally can get it out with ease, but a 1/2 tone or 3/4 ton truck not so easy. The great thing about a SXS is you can go almost go anywhere with ease. SADLY THE MARKET HAS GONE WAY OUT OF CONTROLL AS FAR AS PRICING GOES. I think because of "CORPORATE GREED" like so many other industries no a days, they are making it ridiculous in pricing. For $50 grand buy a jeep or truck. In the long run better bang for the buck. Spend wisely.

@EastCoastATV , love your vids from here on the island, makes me want to venture out further and explore more. Have you been to the Can Am site lately? You can build a expedition like vehicle for about 32g. I used a 2 seat Commander XT-P because it comes with 30 inch tires, Fox shocks and the full locking front diff, added soft doors, glass windshield with wiper, roof vent,the have an Adventure cage and adventure enclosure, which closes in your dump box, level with the roof. And a LinQ cargo rack to divide the bed into 2 layers for stacking. If you wanted to go to a XT model, that would put you in just under $30g. Seeing how a General is almost $30g without any enclosure, its the best buy in todays market. I consider myself a Polaris diehard having owned Polaris sleds, quads and SXS, but I am looking hard at the Commander. Money talks, and at the end of the day they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Cheers boss, Have a good one.

Dust magically being forced into the seating area and I have duct taped every dam hole in the body. OVERHEATING, A glass flip up windshield from Taylor Made, that you OEM. EVERY one of those has a huge gap passenger side lower corner. Tell you suppliers to FIX their fitment. Upper doors that do not seal properly. So 50K or more? All I can say if people start reading the Polaris forum and all of these issues carry forward into the expedition in this economy? When you think about the safety tech that goes into a modern vehicle at the same price and all of the regulations those vehicles are required to meet it’s pretty obvious how much profit Polaris is trying to generate. What needs to happen is for banks to wise up and stop lending on ridiculously over-priced luxury items. Here in northern Wisconsin we’re faced with ridiculously long waiting time for repairs. A friend recently waited 9 months for a simple valve grind on a 580 Sportsman which cost him $1200 out of pocket. With lack of product support like this you better spend 100K and purchase a spare so you have something to ride while you wait for service.

That's a good point. When you think of the cost of these machines and they only have a 6 month warranty unless you pay more money to extend it. I'm sure they'll still sell lots of them, though.

I would like to see them actively engaged with their customers. For God's sake Polaris, read the dam forums? It ain't rocket science just product refinement through customer feed back. DO you need me to come in as a consultant to teach you to the product refinement model? THis is low hanging fruit Polaris.

@@kractass this thing won’t go over 10,000 miles without costly repairs. Parts aren’t cheap on these toys. At least a bronco you got a decent warranty. Riding trails would be fun in this but I couldn’t justify the price. I’d just go with something a lot cheaper if I wanted to trail ride. I can find places off road can take my truck if I wanted to go off roading and camping.

You could, but it's far too large to take it on backwoods ATV Trails. I see what you're saying though about the price, I agree.
@MrTjulius
@MrTjulius Год назад
@@EastCoastATV true the raptor is very wide. I know it's not the same my point was just from all the engineering that has went into a raptor in regards to the price point of the Polaris.
@EastCoastATV
@EastCoastATV Год назад
@@MrTjulius I agree. I made a comment to someone else earlier basically mentioning what you did. The amount of engineering that goes into modern vehicles like Jeeps and Broncos for crash testing, unit body construction, HVAC, wind tunnel testing etc and Polaris charges as much for an offroad toy. It's a bit much. And it's not just Polaris. Most SxS manufacturers have models costing over 50K if you add up some options on them.

Anything over 10k is way outer hand and wallet, especially when it cant be driven on highway. I could buy a pretty good Jeep or any street legal 4x4 for that price, this is clearly for folks that are well off and dont work for a living............
