Oh man!...what a Champion Driver this guy is, and the rest of the group were flying under the old Cup record by a huge margin. Xfinity is as interesting now as Cup, it's stepped up massively.
@@scottwilliam6141 he won in Australia. He and Scotty Mac are both kiwis. Americans always get us and kiwis mixed up. There is a huge DUTCH between us tho 😂
Probably also happy he’s in a series where he’s not held back by gag orders from the ones running it despite saying said drivers are free to speak their minds
@@mista2621 Started in a Ford. Stone Brothers Racing ran Fords when SVG failed to honour his Contract and jumped ship. BTW 888 Racing also ran Fords before switching to the bowtie, If I recall correctly. The fact he can still win racing a ShitboxChevy shows how good he is. lol Mopar, or no car for me.
Nobody was doubting his skill on a road course/street circuit. The question and challenge is on the ovals and it's still there, but it's still early and he's doing what he needs to do to learn them which is run all the laps. Having the simulators they have now is certainly going to help him progress in that area as well because he'll be able to run thousands of laps at tracks he's never seen before ever actually being there. I do think he will eventually win on an oval, but it might be a couple of years before we see it in Cup. That series is stacked 20 deep and the top 3-5 are so damn good.
SVG was one hell of a sprint car driver, NZ drifting champion, finished 2nd in his first time in a RallyX car, and has tested open wheel cars before. He can drive anything, those ovals will come to him as he gets more experience and time goes by
@@nomadman5288yeah the ovals for SVG will come to him as time goes by and he gains experience on them which is like what you said basically running all the laps but I also concur with you, I don’t see him winning an oval anytime soon at least not in his rookie year in the Xfinity Series. I give it another two to three years at least before he becomes a weekly contender on every track type in NASCAR
Watching the race back in NZ, good seeing SVG giving the others a hard time. And they say Kiwis can’t fly don’t believe it. As l as write this SVG has taken the lead love it
As soon as I read people saying he won't repeat Chicago, I knew they'd be proven wrong. This with limited time watching the Supercar series. What the fans of the other drivers really have to worry about is, him learning how to drive and perfect the oval, that's what you have to seriously worry about. Talk about being caught napping.
@@SneakyGhosty Yeh your right. I am Aussie and a bit lazy to attach the NZ Flag to my menu. Shane has been in V8 Supercars for many years and Aussies support him. Cheers.
Commentator needs to work on his commentary. "He never continues to amaze us", "celebrates with a "clutched" fist". Mate. I didn't realise how good Aussie commentary was until now. Lol. Go SVG!!
