@@rav05pimpin Toyota Australia official site, current drive away for the GXL which is base model is $47,717 which is close enough to 50K. the next step up is 55K for the Koba and the GR Sport is an eye watering $60K Fucking nuts imo.

Unfortunately, this vehicle attracts the European car tax because it is made in Turkey. I have the GR-Sport model. Excellent vehicle and while it is somewhat expensive, the amount of tech onboard in this model is fantastic.

Brilliant review quality. Thanks for not mincing your words and calling out brands that need highlighting for real world not matching their excel spreadsheets of specs. This new CH-R is now made in Turkey, I believe. How was the build quality?

Great review! I have been looking for a review of the GXL model for a long time and finally stumbled upon yours. The straightforward, no frills explanation is what we need when carrying out our research, the reviewer does need to be over friendly or humorous, but to the point. Driveway @ $ 47 + K for a brand-new car sounds a lot, though not these days. What one gets in the base GXL version is a great looking car, bound to turn heads with a 360 degree camera, Wireless ACplay and AndAuto, 10 airbags, plenty of safety features, a great hybrid, 17 in. wheels (cheaper to replace), low service costs, a 388 litres boot and the clincher for me a space-saver spare tyre! As a 60s something urban dwelling female, that's all I need!

they should’ve given the option to have the 2.0L engine on the GXL and koba

You don't need to tape over the Driver Monitoring Camera ...it can be turned off in the settings menu. I leave mine on as it does Face ID to identify the driver. This allows the car to set driver seat position, HUD position, external mirror positions, air conditioning and radio station based on that drivers presets.

I don't think these Toyota Hybrids are amazing in terms of fuel efficiency. I use them at work as fleet cars and find them meh. Cars with diesel were so much nicer to drive like the Golf, Focus etc. Why do we do these things seriously 😂
@MattyClivingthedream
@MattyClivingthedream Месяц назад
In terms of highway consumption, diesel is great. But city, my experience they use double what a hybrid consumes and sometimes more than equivalent petrol. Add to the nasties that these thing pumped out and they should be banned.

Hey Toyota, keep this one in your showroom as well! Way overpriced just like all these new cars coming out that you rarely see on the road... Geez I wonder why! You'd have to have more money than brains for this one.

It's pretty tasteless and not even an appealing type of car (not that I'm in their target demographic for it) but its nice to aee that they bothered to deaign and build it properly. I'd back it to be running a long time from now and retain its value which is a better way to go than buying a horrible (if cheap) throwaway Chinese junker.

@@mahcooharper9577 It's not even a general car, it has acceleration figures of general cars from the late 80's. Merging at high speed in these cars has become dangerous in 2024 because modern cars are generally quite quick.
@ytyndale3643
@ytyndale3643 Месяц назад
@@peter_smith I don't need to own it to appreciate the slow acceleration figures, imagine overtaking on a highway. You would put your foot down and it would barely move, too bad if a truck is coming the other way soon and then you have the problem of the person your overtaking toying with you because they can see you are struggling to get in front. It's very dangerous, people don't realize that acceleration can actually save your life in a car.
@mahcooharper9577
@mahcooharper9577 Месяц назад
@@ytyndale3643 0-100 in 10 seconds isn't quick but it is a long way from the slowest vehicle on the road. Delivery vans are slower than that, especially laden, and they cope fine getting on and off freeways. Let alone trucks etc. Brett tested a 2023 MG3 and without stalling it up it did 0-100 in 13.3 seconds. With brake hold 12.7 seconds. That's MUCH slower than this. Did you make the same comment on that? Are they dangerous too?
