Thanks for posting. I’m not a candidate for the Woodland as I prefer the softer ride of a boulevard cruiser. Still I learned a lot. Your clarity of speech and speed of delivery is just right with no annoying background music!! You mentioned that because of the width of the console it could press against the leg. I’d forgotten that and it can cause discomfort on a long trip! Overall well done!
Most customers: Wow, cool, I want to get a Subaru Wilderness (Outback/Forester/Crosstrek). Oh wait, that MPG sucks, I drive on streets and highways 90% of the time. Ok fine, I’ll get this Woodland…. It’s fine for what it is. Just wished they gave the same options as what’s offered in Canada for 2023 model. Wish they didn’t cheap out and gave us higher ground clearance, skid plate, full size spare, and a 1500W inverter for the back plug instead of 100W (like on the Sienna). Nice review video.
Let me know when you finally get one. I had it for almost a year now and love it, especially the 38 -41 MPG is great for any SUV. I cannot stand the way the Outback looks now after 2022 it just got so dam ugly with all of the boxy black plastic trim in all the wrong places. I was not going spend 40k on something so ugly and the MPG is not even close to the RAV4 hybrid nor is the engine reliability especially on turbos.

The Rav4 isn't fancy but that's not its purpose unfortunately the real world purchase price of these vehicles don't align with the utilitarian purpose of the vehicle thanks to the lack of supply.
Nicely done Video... What are your thoughts when comparing this to the Sportage Hybrid ? I am really trying to decide between the 2 and I live Down Under. Only question in my head is reliability between the 2 which I recon the Rav4 will win. Appreciate if you can give me your opinion too. Thanks.
The sportage had a more traditional feeling powertrain, more natural (less vague) steering and Much more comfortable seats. I can’t vouch much for its reliability given the brand’s inconsistency there. The RAV4 hybrid has a much more intuitive interior and the longevity/resale would make it my personal choice, both are great!
I was thinking about getting a toyota rav4 hybrid this year but seeing videos it's hard to decide which hybrid is better. I don't want a electric car with no gas. I want a car to save gas, speeds well, dealing with cold weather. What is your guys opinion?
The hybrid is the best of both worlds. Granted on the highway you will lose mpg which happens for all ICE cars too. I know in the summer months I avg 40 - 41mpg and in the winter I have been getting 34 - 38mpg and have averaged exactly 38mpg in the colder months and higher as the weather gets warmer.
I have never understood why Toyota came out with the Woodland (note: I am on my 8th Toyota, a 2006 Sequoia, so I am by no means a hater)--why not drop the hybrid into the Rav4 TRD Off Road and call it good? The TRD Off Road gives you an extra 1/2 in. of ground clearance (I believe it is at 8.6 in, so right there with a non-Wilderness Subaru) has the same suspension, the syntex leather seats were already there, already had the all terrain tires and is all around more capable. I have a feeling, though, that the TRD Off Road is on the way out and this will be staying. Heavy sigh . . . .
I think the difference in ground clearance is due to the hybrid (the TRD OR has the same clearance as other cars and all hybrids have 8.1). I think they could have reused the suspension or given it a more cool interior like the TRD but having it well under $40k is nice too. I think they knew it would need a whole lot more changes to make it actually capable so the woodland just allows hybrid buyers to get something a LITTLE more rugged.

@@Realistick In some ways that’s a good question. In many parts of the world and in NZ we have the RAV4 Adventure Hybrid. Looks nicer than the limited and is similar cost. North America doesn’t have the Adventure trim level. Unsure why.
Yeah I noticed that too. What I did as soon as I got my Woodland in my driveway I lifted the entire car and painted the exhaust with high temp paint including the cat, and also used black undercoating for any areas that were not painted. I did the same for my 2008 Rav4 Sport back when it was new, and the exhaust is still in great shape little to no rust with 174k miles and I am in the snow and road salt east coast climate.
No if you want to experience the worst interior from the 90s it would be a 2021 Chevy Equinox my god is that ugly inside and out. I had to rent one for two weeks and it was just bad, and the touch screen is much smaller then the Toyota. Also side note for the Chevy it does not even lock the glove box, no gas tank lock and does not even have a gas cap.
@@obsoletecd-rom It seemed to be equipped but it was not the lack of features but the placement of them was awkward and not pleasing to look out either. Looked ugly and felt cheap and I did not experience that on a rental 2021 Toyota Corolla base modal.
No far better than the 90s. And a lot nice than the new Kia. Saw the2024 Kia in a show room yesterday and it’s not comfortable or pleasant on the eye. And a horrible auto gear selector.
