As an old geezer mechanic, can not overstate Sarah's level of automotive knowledge.. couple that with stellar wit & matchy outfits. Always an informative watch. She's a RU-vid Keeper.

Nice eCVT description! So many people rag on hybrids because of CVTs when in fact, hybrids have gearsets, and not chain- or belt-linked CVT pulleys.

The Rav 4 is quite common here in Sweden too, but we only get ordinary versions - no specials like TRD Pros or Woodlands or such - and the majority of those I see are driven by well fare workers doing home visits to elderly people... As always an exceptionally great review - and penguin shenanigans before even one minute had past and even as the outro; that is OG fan-service right there! 😉 Thank you for what you do and Stay Awesome!

As a long time Toyota 4Runner owner I looked at the car but opted for the Subaru Forester Wilderness. So far not disappointed, not my 4Runner but I picked up 12 mpg in the process.

greeting from saudi Sarah i have a tip for you from desert driver. we lower the tire pressure in dunes from 30 to 15-12 PSI and if its so fine sand we lower the tires to 5 psi and then we fill then back to 12 psi. i suggest you do a video to show people the differance between differant and important tire pressure in outland is .

The car is green, the skirt is green, the Like button is green. Great review! I hate the way Hybrids sound, this being no exception. The choked-off last dying breaths of a combustion engine with it's tumor of an electric engine attached. "Dynamic Force" Haha!

Your bolstering test with that top and fabric seats looked like it would generate about 10,000 volts of static electricity.

Honestly Toyota is a hero, the non plug in hybrid is exactly what will sell. Especially since the so called Infrastructure bill failed to deliver any charging stations. This one simply makes its own power and makes owners happy by costing them less 👍👍

Chefs kiss to your black leather jacket. Fits you perfectly, and you wear it very, very well.

Falken wildpeak A/T are a great set of rubber. We run them on our CX5. Very happy with them for on-road and in rain too.

You look very nice today as always. I love the colors on the RAV4 on that hybrid. But I am so shocked that the 2 Toyotas you tried to take up the hill climb will not make it. And the Subarus that you have tested, just eats the hill alive. Great review as always till the next one.

That’s crazy with All Terrain tires it wouldn’t crawl up the hill. My Venza with garbage highway tires crawled up a hill very similar to that one. It was a mostly gravel hill and that’s probably why. I wanted a RAV4 but I scored my Venza barely used for 6k less than a comparable RAV4. Plus I’ve found it has the same struts as a 2019+ RAV4 so it’s getting a lift kit! I’m new to the channel, and a new subscriber! Great reviews. You and Car Care Nut make for a complete review on a car!

Hi Sarah. My brand new 2024 KIA Telluride with 777 miles on it, needs a new engine. 2,900 of us got a bad batch of Valve Springs installed and they've been failing causing severe damage and sometimes punching holes through the engine causing fires, accidents, etc. You may have already seen this on TikTok. What a pain in the ass. Oh well, enough on that. Nice review on the RAV4. Nice little SUV.

Saw this Rav4 in the background of your last Celica video and have been waiting for this video ever since!

"Electricity is blue" 😂 - if you say so Sarah! 😊 That very steep uphill dirt track you tackled - that's for hardcore 4x4's, which the RAV4 is not. Typically traction (read: tyres) is your main problem with that kind of obstacle, with a set of Mattracks fitted almost anything could go up there. As you said at one point, "The tyres make a massive difference" - and that's something many people don't realize. Apparently the RAV4 hybrid has been out-selling the Prius, which is saying something.. thanks for a fun review!

Your editing skills have come a long, long way in a positive direction since the early days of your channel, Sarah. I'm loving the little video-in-video technical popups. very cool!

The approach and departure angles coupled with the ground clearance will hold it back when venturing off the road.

So, a ECVT is not actually a CVT? I can see how this will confuse a lot of people. It confused in the beginning but now I know the difference.

Great job as usual Sarah! It looked like a semi full throttle and a longer runup would have had it bounding over the top of that incline. I guess it could get dinged doing that so for your test you'd rather crawl. Since it's relatively low bucks maybe a decent used one with a few mods would make it a better off roader?

P.S. I really hope you get Ineos Grenadier for a review. It'd be very exciting to see how it handles your off-road course.

With the rally section please, please can we have it timed….That would really add to the fun factor. Hope for more on the hill climb….then so disappointed, Toyota RAV4 nil points as an true off roader, more like a soft roader…..brilliant review as always.

...and because this is the Woodland edition, it has a Trail Mode which will simulate a brake-based limited slip differential [which actually simulates a differential-based limited slip differential]. Awesome! 🙃

I figured it out. "Woodland" is a sort of appearance trim. It's like Audi has its "S-line" package that makes a regular A4 look like an S4, or Acura's A-spec that makes a regular TLX look like a TLX Type-S. Similarly, Woodland edition makes a regular RAV4 hybrid look like a RAV4 TRD Off-road, but not even close in off-road capacity. One good thing about this trim, apart from the great looks, is it cames ready for light outdoorsy trips with its accessory mount, all-weather floor mats and cargo liner, and roof rails with cross bars standard.

Sarah you certainly do your homework and come to the party well prepared and charmingly informative. 😊

Great as always. Like you, kinda disappointed with the hill climb. Also not a fan of transfers on paintwork, rather have a badge, hardly a deal break though😂. Another no nonsense review ❤.

The rav 4 has come a long way that’s for sure. To get the best regen when decelerating, gently press the brakes - it will use regen only to slow the car down. Once you get familiar with the car, you can tell how far you need to push the brakes to engage the pads. Going to manual mode 1st actually just uses the engine to brake for you.

If honda could make engines in the 90s that made 200hp out of 1.8 liters AND was still fuel efficient....why can't toyota make a 2.5 liter that makes 250hp? I feel like engineering is lackluster and lazy. "Just slap a electric motor or turbo on it" mentality sucks.
