All of the car companies had compact trucks in their lineup at some point in the past, why are they trying to reinvent the wheel? Just update the safety features and bring them back, not all of us want a 4 door and some of us need something to get through snow and mud and still be able to go down to the big box stores and pick up sheets of plywood so a 6 foot bed would be preferred.
We need an AWD Hybrid, extra cab with a 6’ bed and Tan or Brown interior. Screw the 1990 gloomy grey and boring black that every automaker has been shoving down everyone’s throats since the last millennium.
I have a Maverick Ecoboost, but will be first in line to buy one if Toyota brings this truck to the market, i dont hate my Maverick but it does have quaility issues which makes me cringe at times when i drive it, not sayting Toyota is perfect but with their reputation i hope they will prove it right, their proven hybrid will be a plus but if difficult to get i will the gasser just like i did with the Maverick.
I will never buy a hybrid, they'll never get rid of fossil fuels, all trucks will have a flaw but thats what happens when you depend on lazy luxury. All anyone wants is a vehicle to get to work and out of town with decent gas mileage.
The Ford 2.5 hybrid is among the longest lasting reliable engines made ...and you're talking about getting a toyota hybrid in this stout ? What's wrong with your Maverick?....besides you chosing the gasser initally
Nothing wrong with the gas engine, I like it. Maverick sounds like a 30 year old car that sounds like it's going to fall apart with all the rattles, Ford dealership as usual (and I figured )they didn't find nothing, I've slowly been finding where the rattles are coming from and trying to fix, big part is in the front part of the car, the headlights housing are loose, the hood, stop bumps were not high enough, corrected some of that, the rattling not as noticeable now but still there and the inside dash is another story, and there is something rolling around in there every now and then, had Ford's most of my life but very disappointed in this one. Maybe the last Ford I'll ever by now. I had planned on keeping it but I doubt I will now. It may be a one in a thousand but one bad experience is enough for me not to go back to same brand.
Funny thing, whenever I see Toyota's tricked up TRD variant, I'm reminded of a conversation in a pub some years ago, where a bunch of guys referred to it as a very apt name, but Toyota left out the letter U, as in *TURD* ...
Your title is misleading. It seems that you are advocating 10 reasons to *NOT GET* the Ford Maverick, to which I would agree to. It's a crying shame that an iconic Auto Manufacturer like Ford, should be beset with quality control issues, resulting in numerous recalls. Come on Ford, get your game sorted PDQ...

This is nonsense The man starts talking about the Ford Mavericks capabilities and issues almost right away. Comparing Ford Maverick to the Toyota Stout which isn't even out yet is nonsense. Stout deserves a chance here just like the Maverick & Santa Cruz were given. All He's doing is guessing on the Stouts capabilities until Toyota releases the truck sometime in late 2024 or early 2025 We won't really know what we're really getting, it's price and reliability. What a joke of a vid.....the Maverick has only two engines ...and neither are plagued with issues....the 2.5 hybrid is tried and true tested for years and is incredibly long lasting and the 2.0 turbo has it's main problem corrected 3 years ago.
