This is exactly why i bought my 2023 V6 Tacoma. Ive been in the automotive repair field for 30 years and i can tell you turbo or supercharged engines do not last as long as naturally aspirated engines. You add stress to the engines with power adders which shortens the life of that engine. The turbos are also a point of failure as well. Extreme heat and moving parts will fail eventually. You just cant beat naturally aspirated engines for longevity.

I had a 2008 wrx until 2016. Same clutch, never burnt oil, pulled like the first day I bought it, not garage kept. 205k miles when I sold it. They’ll last longer than most ppl keep their cars if designed correctly and maintained. Ppl start bumping boost and gunning off the line every damn light, no they won’t last. Thermodynamics takes over and things degrade quicker. These are trucks, not made for speed, they’ll be just fine.

I have a good friend that has a 2012 tacoma with the 2.7 engine. A few years back. He used the tacoma with a snowplow on it for couple of winters, and it started buring oil like crazy. After engine tear down by a master toyota tech, it was found the the cylinder walls had severe wear, and the engine had to be replaced. The engine was over stressed. Point is what do they think is going to happen to the 24' tacoma, when the little 2.4 turbo is stressed. Its going to damage the engine. I keep seeing silly comments of folks saying , oh just get rid of them before the warranty runs out. LoL The whole reason i purchase toyota tacomas is for the years and years of reliability. I honestly feel Toyota is jumping on the band wagon for cheap thrills tech for the new generation of drivers and the new era of disposal vehicle's where nothing last for 10yrs now which is sad because they were the pioneers for long lasting reliable cars. People also need to be more vocal on car channels to be pushing back on things we don't want or we will be having crap going forward. The manufactures do look at comments to see what people think, for how much vehicle's cost now we do not need them telling us what we think we would like versus what we want.

Dodge has nearly perfected a bulletproof 8speed automatic though so who knows, it's a matter of time, just isn't logical for the general application manufacturers are doing as of late...

Toyota wants to sell new vehicles. Making reliable, long lasting vehicles is against their “new business model”. Toyota wants to sell new vehicles every 5 years or less to each consumer.

Who made the headline for this video. It says it's going to explain the new engine. The video is not about the engine(s) at all. It's about the frame and suspension. C'mon you guys, get your act together.

A truck without leaf springs its not a truck. That rear suspension looks weak especially dealing with salt in northern states.

No matter how they’re trying to make this new Tacoma Turbo looks good, but, it’s not as same as old V6. I always had Tacoma. I was waiting to get the 2024 model but, totally changed my mined. I don’t think many people will go for this screwed up model. It’s not gonna be the best sellers anymore.

Bro why did he say compact instead of mid-size at 1:52… there hasn’t been a compact from Toyota in NA in decades. The Tacoma has the best selling midsize in America for years. Why would he say compact and not mid-size when talking about the Tacoma… I think this is a Freudian slip and he accidentally revealed a new compact concept based on TNGA-F platform and not a compact on the TNGA-K (RAV4) platform as is being hypothesized online

I smell BS from Toyota a mile away because Toyota brought the 2024 Toyota Tacoma X Runner " Concept " to SEMA 2023 and the LA Auto Show. Now, Toyota brought out the 2024 Toyota Tacoma X Runner " Concept " at the 2023 SEMA Auto Show in Vegas but, the same engineer said, " We putted a V6 Toyota Tundra's engine in the 2024 Toyota Tacoma. The Toyota engineer made for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma can carry a V6 from the Toyota Tundra's in the 2024 Toyota Tacoma. Soon or later Toyota will or would bringing back the V6 on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma when the US President changing hand this year. I know what you saying, " It's only a concept and they never putting it into production ".
