No they're not, it's just above the base model tundra, higher grades have silver grille surrounds. Same with silverado, it's not the base model which has completely black plastic grille
@EAK1437 Yes, but that's just the engine. In areas where the Chevy was better the presenter skimmed over details and tried to make it sound like the Toyota ordered the better feature for no additional cost. They also weren't fully honest about how the hybrid works. Line up a TRD Pro hybrid against a Trail Boss LT or ZR2 with the 6.2 engine and see who gets to the finish line first. The Chevy's 6.2 delivers 90% of its torque at 1,500 rpms and it stays there throughout the powerband. The 10-speed trans keeps the engine in the sweet spot. Last I checked, 1/4 times were close even though the Tundra has over 100 ft-lbs and 60-ish hp.
Well know we know why we haven't seen the TRD Performance package tune for the Tundra. Toyota knew the issues with the engine were coming. Toyota has turned into such a great company, just like one of the big 3!!
I’d rather have a base model Toyota than a fully loaded Silverado with their French transmission but I trust my 05 Silverado more than any new truck & I have a new Tundra
Toyota is ruining their reputation for quality. Forcing a v4 twin turbo that has an issue with blown engines. How does quality drop so low that engines are not cleared of metal shavings when they leave the plant? Even the Tundra upgrade to v6 is laughable. I could go through other models with similar complaints. Toyota has, in one failed swoop, lost the qualty of a 300 plus thousand mile vehicle to engines with a few thousand miles blowing up.
The Toyota Tundra is a 3 power system nightmare. 1.A V6 engine, 2 turbos, and a Hybrid system. Not a long term vehicle. Toyota, u should have modified the V8 engine and prayed Trump got in 😂
Toyota's the only company that said. Hey, let's see if we can destroy everything good about our trucks in one year. Toyota now known as the worst trucks company ever made.
How is it 2024 and ppl don’t understand how turbines work? The 4 cyl won’t work harder to get the same V6 power output folks! The rpm is more or less the same, and it doesn’t mean less reliability just because you’re scared of change! Turbines have been powering our grids and planes for better part of the last century. The first gas turbine car was introduced by Chrysler in 1954!
