I think you're missing the main point with the X. It's been designed to be more road orientated than the XE or outgoing XC, perhaps closer to a Street Scrambler but at 500lbs+, non of them are serious off roaders IMO. The lower seat height will certainly be appreciated by shorter riders and some component budgeting almost certainly had something to do with the dropping of Ohlins and Brembo kit but their replacemets are still more than up to the job. The X also has more onboard tech than the old XC in the form of enhanced rider modes, ABS and "intelligent" traction control. 😊 👍
