We wanted a very lighweight tent for our upcoming walk around the Isle of Wight.
This is our first time setting up the Cloup Up 2 tent and It was very quick and easy to set up.
It comes with a floor mat which can pack away in the tent bag.
This is the 20D version which is slightly lighter than the 210T.

Have the exact same tent it is great even in the rain I've had no leaks only fault i can say is if it has been raining when you open the main door you will get dripped on a little bit other than that super quick and easy and lightweight

I love this tent. Best value bit of kit I have. Most of my stuff is end. Not bothered upgrading this though, it's great. Is it for 2 years over hundreds of miles. No leaks. Buy one.

How have you had this for 2 years if this is the 2024 version?

I've had mine for a year now and I'm really enjoying it. Loads of space as a solo camper. It's actually 1.8kg though. Unless they've reduced the weight somehow.
@outdoorgaz5
@outdoorgaz5 3 месяца назад
I think the weight difference is because I have the 20D fabric you may have the 210T which is heavier.
@MG-bs5mr

@@outdoorgaz5 no I've got the 20D upgraded one. I wonder if Naturehike have tweaked it again.
@MG-bs5mr
@MG-bs5mr 3 месяца назад
@@outdoorgaz5 I'm sure it weighed 1.8kg because I checked when I got it. Another explanation is that I paid for the 20D and got sent the 210T and I've never noticed 😳
@outdoorgaz5

@MG-bs5mr The 20D has a very smooth fin feel to it and 210T feels more like I'd say normal tent material. I'll weigh mine and let you know.

@@outdoorgaz5 ok cool, thanks 👍 Mine does feel quite smooth and waxy and a recent photo before sunset shows the light really shining off if it. Hopefully it's the nylon one. Too late to complain if it isn't.

Adding to the comment about not having fires, whether its a permanent one (there should be a stone ring for a fire and also have water/sand or something near by to put it out if it is) or not. THE FACT ITS STILL SMOKING WHEN YOU'VE ARRIVED THERE SHOWS HOW IRRESPONSIBLE PEOPLE ARE WITH FIRES! A little wind and the right conditions and thats a wild fire that'll be out of control putting people, wildlife and the fire fighters who have to deal with it all at risk! I for one don't agree with having fires, its against the wildcamping guidelines as it does leave a trace. However, this isn't an attack at you (even though I don't agree with the fire), thank you for taking the rubbish of the previous irresponsible idiots.

Still think the Mongar is more practical for two people but as you said for x1 person it works nice watch, see ya out there .
@outdoorgaz5
@outdoorgaz5 3 месяца назад
I agree the mongar 2 is perfect for 2. The reason we will be taking this on our upcoming walk is for weight saving only.

@@outdoorgaz5 Lookin' great! I forgot about my GoPro 3 or 4 already, but turned out pretty psychedelic! Gonna go on an 8 day hike soon after years I hadn't. Seeing how you place this pad below your tent [which I do not have or plan to carry]- makes me worry a bit about the Forclaz MT500 air mattress I'm taking. Worried how much those things could get punctured. if easily or not...

Nice review of the tent, but mate, you should *not* be having fires when you're wild camping. Even if someone has had a fire before you.
@outdoorgaz5
@outdoorgaz5 2 месяца назад
I disagree for this location. This site has multiple permanent fire pits. I never damage the ground when wild camping as you can see from my previous videos. If you're safe and leave no trace I don't see the problem. On this occasion we took lots of other people's litter home.
@deaneager
@deaneager 2 месяца назад
@@outdoorgaz5 It's great that you cleaned up other rubbish on your departure, I really respect that, however I really don't think that the rest of your argument stacks up as a reasonable excuse. Others regularly damaging the area with fires (they are not permanent, the ground will recover if given a chance to) is not a reason to perpetuate it. It *is* leaving a trace. Although wild camping is technically illegal in most parts of England & Wales, it is tolerated, because the majority of wild campers are respectful. The Woodland Trust even offer the 'rules' below, to guide wild campers... • Check for 'no camping' signs first. You must respect the wishes of the landowner. • Leave no trace of your visit. *Use a stove rather than a campfire* and always take your rubbish home. • Be mindful of causing damage to sensitive habitats. • Don't overstay your welcome. Make sure you leave on time. • Do your research first. • Be considerate. A local village green probably isn't the best idea, so make sure you choose a spot away from houses. • Tell someone where you're going and for how long, especially if travelling alone.

@@deaneagerFair comment but I think people will break the rules regardless and having a permanent fire site stops so many random fire sites appearing in this area.
