Sadly car companies nearly have no choice to have big engines without batteries(hybrid), but new m5 just looks like fat bmw that ate up whole pallet of marshmellow
This design, both on the inside and the outside, has a very 'look what they’ve done to my boy!' vibes all over it. Dear lord, BMW, don't go down that road...
@@nikitamarynich1794 Being a hybrid means massive reliability issues in future. This thing is meant to last 5 years and be scrapped. The "way newer" technology makes it heavier and not any quicker or more efficient out of town or on the highway which is where it's always going to be. There isn't a single upside.
Dude are u guys slow? U still trust bmw on paper numbers jesus. Go check out Joe Achillies review he just uploaded he got 3.1 sec 0-60 and this guy got 7.13 60-130 making it faster then the old m5 comp and even audi rs6 modified to 800hp and the m3 cs.
It doesnt look bad, but being slower and like 500kg heavyer than the old M5 kind of makes it laughable Edit:Apparently they managed to make it not feel that heavy
That's only because there is no direct reference. If you would get out and directly drive a 700kg lighter car after it you would feel massive difference. You can't never mask weight... Never!
I've heard "they hid the weight incredibly well" or things like that so many times, yet I've never felt that myself...heavy cars always felt heavy. It'd be great if this really is an exception, but until I drive one I'll remain unconvinced. One area it's impossible to hide weight: tyres. They'll heat and wear quicker, sure the new tyres might be great, but stick those same tyres on a car half the weight and they'll wear and heat half as quickly, obviously. However, I do find the styling somewhat OK in this colour - and the touring rear end looks pretty good. The interior & ergonomics...well they stuck dumbo ear buttons on the wheel yet couldn't put the seat controls on buttons. Those aren't deal-breakers, but they are a bit silly. The big question for me is: why wouldn't you just buy an M3?
lack of shifter is quite a bummer. drifting will be painful now. glad to see it at least drives good despite it’s weight 👍 M2 taught us weight doesn’t always mean bad
Gorgeous car and incredible performance! The shift kicks literally resemble the M5 E60 SMG, but per his words there that's awesome and adds to the feel and here it is not. That looks like an amazing car to drive. Since this is still a test car, I can totally see it hitting 6.7-6.8s 100-200 kmh in the actual M5's that sell and have the normal rims.
It's already faster on his leaderboard then a modified 800hp rs6 .. this thing is insane and joe achillies got a 0-60 of 3.1 sec... bmw said 3.5 😂😂 my ass
Bro the E60 is soooo slow compared to everything that came after, both in straight line and cornering wise. Stop glorifying it just because it sounds amazing. It surely does, but even the engine is a ticking time bomb.
i tried to sugarcoat it to myself several times, but there is just no way to find anything positive about the concept of this car i saw it in real life and the looks really got me, but knowing you move around 3 tons if there is some luggage and a passenger in it is just too crazy. i bet the car drives good, but imagine how good it would drive with 2 tons
well the m5 was never about lightweight but yeah its heavy, it was never a track car, its a big body highway ass hauler built for speed and comfort, not sure I love this new car but its seductive in some ways
If the car actually drives that well, how much better would it drive if the car had at least 2.2 tons? I can't wait to see the new M5 without the battery and how much it will weigh
Because of EU regulations. Even the top speed of modern holy trinity(F80, W1 & the upcoming Porsche V8 supercar) have same top speed as the old ones(P1, 918 & LaFerrari).
F90 prices will skyrocket, that car was perfect. I can't afford any but I'll have a look at what audi has to offer, hope they haven't hired chinese boat designers.
As a old F90 M5 comp LCI owner, I do not think I will buy this one. I am driving AMG GTR now. But to be honest I miss F90 M5 comp. Wish It could be a little less sleeper.
The S63 has the best sound of BMW V8 engine. The competitiion & the CS variant of the G90 could be a bit faster than the F90 variant as expected. The next M6 Competiton will be a PHEV 6 series using the same engine as the XM & M5 but I wish BMW should build a hybrid V12 SUV & sporty luxury car like S63/65 & M760LI.
The current 5-series HAS to be a Touring. The back looks too funky on the sedan, but the wagon really hits the spot. Just a shame the rear diffuser is so chunky, it ruins the look (not that it was a looker in the first place). Also sucks that the window on the trunk hatch no longer opens on the G61/G99, that was what made Tourings unique.
@@nikitamarynich1794 Definitely is, I still don't like the front too much but the rest does honestly look quite cool. I've been seeing G60 almost daily since the i5 came out so I've gotten quite used to seeing them around.
I don’t really like the M5…yet, maybe it will grow on me eventually. But rn it’s just way too bulky, especially with that sorta minimalistic/futuristic designing BMW had in mind. It’s supposed to appeal to the Chinese market I think, but with those bulges on the hood and that separated diffuser it’s just like a as if a kid had to draw an M5 and managed to make a Lego-Brick-BMW Hybrid. The interior is meh as well, but that’s because I don’t like those openly displayed displays with two support brackets on the back, it should have been more like with Audi or Mercedes imo or keep those displays separated.
7.13 is really not fast, I expected it to be much faster, the car is heavy, but the weight no longer plays such a big role when the car accelerates from 100 km/h
Soon as i saw you had to use the interface to move the seat, i lost complete interest in this car! What the hell are car companies playing at taking something so simple as seat controls of instant hands reach!
I am not convinced ) looking at this footage and corners looool, you cannot mask 2.6T ))) she floats like a boat. Also on a motorway after 200kph its pretty dead, just like my S4 B9 2019 St 2 )
Finally good news! I’m glad all the keyboard warriors, that could never get a car like this, got schooled. I was sure BMW wouldn’t fuck this car up. Probably one of the most iconic cars ever.
XM is a much larger car, much less streamlined and weighs even more. The drivetrain is similar but the cars are vastly different. With a bit of tuning, they can easily make this M5* into a 2.5-2.6 sec car.
@@nikitamarynich1794 when you critique a drivetrain you dont include the other aspects besides what makes the wheels turn. The difinition of the word drivetrain is " the system of components that deliver power from the engine to the wheels, enabling the vehicle to move. It includes parts like the transmission, driveshaft, differential, and axle, working together to transfer engine power to the wheels while allowing for speed and torque variations."
