Around the 8-minute mark there's a funky repeat. We filmed this in a rush and after we filmed part of it we were given additional info on the new Sasquatch so we re-filmed half the video and meshing the two takes together was a pain. We initially included the duplicate section, but we've now gone back and edited it with the online editor to cut it out since people didn't seem to like it. The re-cut version should be live eventually...
Out of all the usual channels I watch who covered this vehicle, I got to tell you, you did the best job with detailing info that was right to the Point ! No Fluff and wasted time... Appreciated !
I would love a Ford Bronco Sport L. Just a slightly longer version of this. So you can have more storage/second row leg room and with the second row folded flat, a full size mattress. It’s just a tad too small
there’s supposed to be a ranger based suv coming. i’m hoping it will keep some of the off-road prowess of the ranger. and a raptor version would be dope
Alex, I wish the US-made Escape had such a practical, boxy shape and so many clever features. The only trick Ford missed here is a fold-flat front passenger seat. On the subject of compact but capable SUVs, the upcoming Land Cruiser FJ will be around the same size and sitting on a full frame if it gets to this market. 🤞🤞Of course, the loaded Bronco Sport's mid-40s price tag does not bode well for the affordability of other options. 🤨
Ford should just discontinue the Escape and add the hybrid drivetrain as an option for the Bronco Sport. The Bronco Sport already cannibalizes Escape sales as it is.
Why are you reaching for top models ? A 45k Branco is a fully loaded. Why are you reaching so high? If you can’t afford it get a lower trim and save up $$ next go round. But to want a fully loaded Branco sport at 35k is just not feasible. You want skid plates , off road suspension, the rear opening window , 2.0 t , and all the engineering that went into the awd system for peanuts ? It reminds me of people complaining about $50k hornets , yet the car starts at 30k and has everything standard … yall just like to complain honestly. If you want affability , buy a equinox
we had a 2021 Bronco Sport Badlands and LOVED it. Recently traded it for a 2024 Mustang Mach-E. I kinda wish it didn't come with the full size spare as having additional storage space under the trunk floor would have been nice. It was a great smaller SUV and I would buy one again!
Wish you could get the hybrid system in the Bronco Sport. It's the exact same platform as the Escape and Maverick. I've heard that it might be coming but who knows. Until then, nothing can make me buy one of Ford's Ecoboost engines, especially not the 4-banger variety.
Yes! That hybrid drivetrain is excellent too. The Bronco Sport already cannibalizes Escape sales anyway. Add the hybrid drivetrain and discontinue the Escape imo.
Looks fantastic, like a baby Land Rover product. The interior is finally nice, which is a huge step up. The offroad capability is very cool too but man, that price!! $50k for a lower end Ford is a hard pill to swallow.
I love the look and dimensions of the Bronco Sport. Ford should just discontinue the Escape and take its hybrid drivetrain and include it as an option for the Bronco Sport. The Bronco Sport already cannibalizes Escape sales as it is.
My emotional side loves this car, and my rational side doesn’t. On one hand, it looks awesome, it’s super capable, and gives you some off road chops without torturing you in daily driving. On the flip side, it’s sized like a subcompact SUV and priced like a compact SUV, and that price only grows. And ford reliability lately is not good. Even id you can get deep discounts on these, that reliability still gives me pause, as much as my emotional side loves this car.
@@billricheter5678 ive owned one for 365 days and I do not recommend. I agree with all these points. Its beautiful and I love the eruption green and the details but I have NEVER driven anywhere other than city streets even with the best intentions and the reliability and Ford in general couldn't be worse for the amount I paid.
I have owned a big Bronco Badlands for nearing 2.5 years. I’ve always been intrigued by the capabilities of the Badlands version of the Sport. Please indulge my curiosity by buying a Badlands Sport and take that thing on all the obstacles!
Would be interested in following this long-term in your fleet, Alex. I know reliability is not what your channel focuses on but several comments love the packaging but have reservations about Ford's build quality...
Some nice changes, I'd like that front bumper on my OBW had to add a bar, lights and skid plates to mine but not the same as one with recover hooks. The rear locker the Subaru Wilderness versions should have too. Pricey for the size though. $46k similarly optioned to what is on screen, More than a Subaru Outback Wilderness which is a size bigger. Still some nice changes and I'm loving the green.
WOW!! I loved how you showed the examples of the tires/bashplates/parts from the nearest competitors!! It was like you brought a computer/video graphic to life with that presentation! But anyways, not a fan of how they moved the Engine Start, AS/T Off, and hazard buttons so low.
Alex, a few thoughtful improvements, still more to come I hope. Overall the under body protection is good, but why on earth are they still using a felt liner to "protect" fuel lines and related electrical EVAP components ? A simple steel skid plate between the EVAP canister skid and the fuel tank skid plate would help. I along with many others have torn the felt first time off road. Please ask Ford. Other that that I love my 2022 Badlands. The AWD system in tandem with the twin clutch differential does work exceptionally well , despite what "some people" say.
Hi Alex, love your channel, always look to you before buying. Do you know if the Sport can be flat Towed like the regular Bronco. I want to take it RVing.
he says it many times that it's twin clutch, and yes if those clutches are not strong enough simple brake traction can come out more durable, that's how ivtm4 ended up in some uphill tests before recent upgrade
With it being on the mid 40s (for the Badlands Sasquatch) wouldn't this more closely compete with the Outback, and still be more expensive, rather than the Crosstrek? It doesn't change the lack of a locker on the OB but you are paying a lot for a smaller vehicle.
Soft roaders do still need to be efficient for the predominant road use they see. For width, I think aerodynamics and fuel economy is also the primary consideration but also I believe increasing diameter helps improve contact patch more so than just increasing width would.
Where do you see the editing issue? We may be able to correct it. We had only 20 minutes with the Bronco Sport total so some of the clips just didn't mesh quite right to start with.
Watch again, no he didn’t. He did not have anything from the compass besides a tire and a tow hook. No skid plates from the Jeep was shown because it’s as good or better than the ford.
@@JamesPhieffer no. You’re supposed to use common sense. Sad I have to explain this to you but I will😂. Obviously all the cars that competes with this bronco had parts displayed that lagged behind the Branco where it mattered. Tires. You seen compass , Subaru and Toyota tires there because they are all worse than the ford. Tow hooks . Ford has the best tow hooks because their fully boxed, so they had the jeep tow hooks and the rest of the competition’s tow hooks because they were worse than the ford Now the skid plates , they showed every skid plate but the jeeps… if it was worse, why wouldn’t they show it?? they showed every other part that’s worse. Please use your brain.
10:22 i think Ford cut costs on the wrong things. They could have just made 6 buttons and spent 20 cents more per car. That thing will break, and it’s also worse to use when it does work
Too bad GM doesn't have a competitive model to this. This is really growing on me although I'll never take it offroad. If Toyota is indeed going to debut a 2025 FJ Cruiser, that would be an interesting comparison.
Bigger screens are not a thing for me. The perfect screen is about 6" by 5". Plenty big enough. With a switch to reduce the brightness at night, and a switch to turn off the screen but leave the sound on.
I wish these new midsize SUVs gave us full sized seats. It's more like they give you 3/4 of a seat and expect us to just get used to having half of one butt cheek hanging off the side of the seat.
180 hp and 190 lb-ft of torque isn't "beefy" enough for off-road or everyday use? Do you have your drivers licence? Many vehicles come with less power than that. Your grasp of necessary power is completely off-base.
I really hate when my luggage gets squished by my pies... 😂 I recently bought a Crosstrek. I looked at the bronko sport . I liked the packaging, but the quality issues were too much to ignore. Brand new demo cars shouldn't rattle like this. Even the one in the showroom had paint flaws and loose trim. You do get extra recalls with your Ford purchase, so there's that.
I was looking into that regarding the Maverick. Apparently there's no change to the engine, just a re-rating based on a different point of measurement or such.
That’s why I literally don’t care if an automaker that makes unreliable cars makes a car that’s actually competitive. They basically don’t exist to me.
