Heck he could have bought a bus or a in closed trailer and made a shop. The space he saved in using the shipping container. I seen other people buy two shipping container and build around them and lay concrete in the middle of the two shipping containers for the work area it was a body shop of course you need the land to do it. I live in Northen California so I can see LA being limited space. Then again you are right about one thing the space he has he used efficiently my brother has two garages one shed and a huge yard filled with junk you have to climb over his junk no walking room in the garages he's a horder. Everyone are always asking me for my tools because I'm totally the opposite I like my stuff organized to know where all my stuff is at in the small space I have.

As someone who lives in the Midwest, I can't fathom the space and commute issues you deal with every day. This workshop is a masterpiece. Seriously. I wouldn't have thought of any of the solutions you did. Great use of space, close to where you live, on a budget in A FREAKING SHIPPING CONTAINER. Amazing. Well done, sir.

Excellent shop dude. Built my first 'mechanics shed' in a Brea yard... still used today by the guys who took it over from me. For auto work, all you need to add was a small overhang along the side, big enough for the vehicle, and your're in like Flynn!

Far out, the quality of the video is just out of this world. Your creativity is amazing!! If I really had to pick something, I'd say that the tiny shelves for the different skateboard parts are my favourite part of your shop. Or the hat stand. Or the magnetic board. Or the broken skateboard made out of skateboard art.....So many things

Awesome workshop, I have always thought about a workshop in a container and it is really encouraging to see someone who has successfully done it! Not only that you have set up a woodworking workshop in a small space which traditionally take up the most space with all the tools, I am into electronics and dream of having a workspace. So it should be much easier for me than it was for you. Again really nice setup, love it! and thanks for the info sharing.

Good job. Next time use OSB for your walls easier to attach shelves benches other items to. Make your own SIP for the ceiling side into place on a 2x3 runner near the top of your walls. Put a steel grill over that fan to prevent entry from possible theft. Forty years of Building Trades Experience and I’m still learning , just passing it on. Over all GREAT JOB.

Very nice video, i like your utilization of space. i actually have the exact same situation. My workshop is also in a container but i sacrificed room for a big work bench and close to the entrance for more airflow as iam working. I lined my walls with plywood for easier removal when i finally need to move, plus i can screw anything anywhere.

+Woby Design The LAYOUT is my FAVORITE part of your shop! 👍👍 Looks great, Ben! Thanks for the full tour. It seems like a great solution for you and I completely understand your reasoning, So...You inspired me in a big way, and I just ordered a 20ft High Cube 1-Trip Shipping Container.. :) My wood shop is currently in a section of my 3-car garage, but that means our cars and everything else in the garage are always dusty, even with a decent dust collection system.. Having a smaller, dedicated shop will also allow me to make a little bit more noise without disturbing the rest of the house. It will also force me to be more organized, plus get rid of stuff that I've only used (maybe) once in 5 years, etc. I'm planning to do an awning off of one side of the container for a sheltered outdoor workspace when I need a bit more space and for when the weather is nice (I like to work outside whenever possible because we've got a great view here). So thanks again for the inspiration! Oh, and I subscribed to see any updates or changes you decide to make. ;) And I'm diggin' the Ninja Tunes-esque music selections. 👍 L8r

My shop is 19' x 13' so I know what it's like to work in a small shop. Nice job, well thought out and functional. The one suggestion I can give you is to think less rectalinear. What I mean by that is that the tools don't always need to be parallel to the walls, sometimes a slight angle will allow tools to be closer together and give you a bit more open floor space.
