I’m a 20 plus year contractor with some advice. When hanging drywall, always hang the ceilings first and then the upper walls. Life will be so much easier. Also, there is a reason to stagger your joints. If and when cracks form, the don’t go the entire length of the joint, they will stop at the staggered joint.

And use glue on the studs.

Jake Sales sorry, I didn’t realize that you had responded. There are many different kinds of adhesive that you can use. There is no such thing as “Stud Adhesive”. There is “Drywall Adhesive” though. You can always used “Liquid Nails” but most people don’t use it correctly. Actually, people don’t use most adhesives correctly. I even did before I was taught the correct way. People glob the adhesive on the one side of the adjoining parts, then they sandwich them together. The proper way is to apply on both parts, put them together, take them apart and then put them back together. If you do this, it will be a cold day in hell before they come apart. You also do this with your drywall. Apply the adhesive to the rafters, in which can be messy but necessary. Also apply the adhesive to the drywall back. To not waste adhesive, I measure where the rafters cross and just apply there. I install the drywall to the rafters, separate, put back and screw it. It seems like a lot of work but I have drywall ceilings that are 18 - 20 years old with no sag. Also remember, when you paint the ceiling, you will be adding weight.

Hard work yields results. From the cheap seats and as a former painter, you may consider painting ceiling first. Always "top down, inside out." In a perfect world thermo bridging and maybe a vapor barrier are whole other things to consider. Not to mention sound dampener, but more coin. Enjoy and looks good. Thanks for sharing.

Should have used spray foam or at least cut/formed foam glued to the metal sides - you will get issues with condensation with the air-gap behind the insulation and with no tape on your drywall seams you will get some cracking. Nice neat little shop though.

Next time you are building out an empty space like that with nothing in it use a paint sprayer instead of the rollers. Much faster and easier. Since nothing is in there no worries of paint overspray. Also when hanging drywall on ceiling can make dry wall supports out of 2x4's T shape. Slightly longer than needed so you can wedge under drywall sheet.

Love the build and your style, very good job even though drywall is not your thing, yet :-) I would have definitely chosen drywall as well, but I would have installed it atop a layer of OSB (1/2" instead of 3/4" in your particular case), so that you get a very strong support to screw anything anywhere on the walls later on, especially in a workshop! I really don't understand why it's not more common practice in the US to use OSB under drywall. It's so much better than drywall alone! Anyway, looking forward for the next one!

Im about to do this project. HOWEVER, I am contemplating spray foam, WHCIH WILL seal in the entire cavity. PLAN was to caulk steel 2x3s against inside corrugated wall. so the foam thickness would range inside from 3" to 2.5". THEN use plywood for sheeting rather then drywall, (drywall sucks). I would also use 1/2" tubing to run 14/2 though to boxes. SECOND part is to strap outside walls and spray foam as well, making foam thickness even at approx, 5". Then use board and batten ext siding. THIS IDEA, allows for max inside space..THOUGHTS?
