Great vid response. All about timing. Off inside and on outside if necessary to come down straight through the “gates”

Haha your climb rate looks very similar to my Atom 80 and Hadron 3 combo!

Pretty similar for my h3 vs Luna (both 20m) but the Luna doesn’t have the lift of the h3

I'm thinking about getting into paramotoring. How much do you weigh? I'm 160 so I'm thinking a atom 80 would be fine for me after training. Maybe I'll have a chance to fly the 80 and 185 during training. I'm also considering putting openppg in the mix. For the flying (I think I'd be doing) electric just makes sense.

I'm 200lbs and I can fly an atom80 without any issues. I want there to be a 2 hour electric paramotor so bad, but for now gas is the best option in my opinion. What kind of wing are you looking at?

Can you make a video of the steps and learning curve to get you to this point. I don’t intend on doing anything super crazy but to get to the point you are at now with wingovers is all I want. I’m experimenting with holding one brake down, then dumping it, letting the wing shoot to the other side, and introducing that brake. That makes for a “deepish” turn. But after that I just keep holding that same brake because I don’t know how to deal with the energy after that. I feel like if I dump again and do the same for the other side I’d have too much energy i don’t know what to do with or I’ll time something wrong and unload the weight off the wing
@paramotormahoney1362
@paramotormahoney1362 Год назад
Oh yeah, I was stuck in that one-sided-turn thing for like 8 months. Then Scotty & I reviewed the 5th edition of the PPG Bible, page 181 and discussed energy management. Back when I was stuck in the "big turn" phase, I had been continuing to hold brake on the same side because it felt like way too much energy to do anything with. Once I started to let up on the inside brake I was able to apply brake to the opposite side and complete my first wingover. I also should say that I have been flying since 2019 and have owned several wings. I can't do anything on an A or B wing like what I show in this video. # of flights and # of hours is a huge piece of how to learn wingovers. Good luck on your future endeavors and I will try to include some content that talks about wingovers soon.

Were you trimmed in fully for launch or neutral? I've got an 80 & am looking to get a Mac Para 20m Samurai

Probably set about halfway to full trims out. The wing in this video is 27m and I just flew a 25m with an atom today. Plenty of climb to just putts around. What’s your all up weight?

My all up is 265 with 8L in the tank. But I bought a fully spec'd macfly 185 factory R today from back country ppg. Just Gonna sell the atom.

Good video. It looks like you have a good geoup to fly with. I'd love to see a pic or two of the way Tim's trike was customized in order to mount his motor. I have to modify mine and I'd like to be able to see better what he did with those 'U' clamps and steel stock.

I’m at 117kg all up with a full tank (on the motor in this video). Go for it if you like the Luna 2, but I was not a fan and sold mine.

How come you didn't take off with fully closed trims? Surely that would have helped your climb rate
@paramotormahoney1362
@paramotormahoney1362 Год назад
[Just my opinion] The inflation is easier with trims out slightly, especially with a slight breeze. But yes, closed trims would have probably given me a little shorter run

@@paramotormahoney1362 ok good to know. I usually launch trim's closed to minimize the running, will have to try open them slightly and try
