@@Escygt ahh cool, the 6 speed the same bell housing pattern / clutch and fly etc ? I’m not sure on the limit of the 5 speed and would be interested to swap it to 6
@@VolksWorkshop yeah, only the 987 6 speed bolts up. That gearbox in a 987 needs 987 shafts with 986 3.2 outer ends (for the abs) and you'd need the 3.2 rear hubs as they use a larger wheel bearing.
This will be interesting some power and boost in a boxter, I know what it's like rewiring the ecu I done it with my caddy 1.9tdi bls converted to a 20v will the emu control the fan as I had to fit a thermal switch
I'm planning to do the same conversion in the near future, just hunting around for a cheap 987 is providing a bit difficult, I just missed one on auto trader for £2k lovely black car with no mot in black with a blown engine 🙈 would have been perfect but the breakers seem to be snapping up all the cheap ones
@@DanyVere-eb5lp thanks but I've already got one now, . Managed to pick up a 2005 987 running and driving wants a few small jobs £3200 which I feel was very good value
