Next time you're in San Diego, hit the 94 from downtown to the interchange with 125 - an incredibly huge and high stack built in the last 20 years that no one has really filmed. It is off the beaten track, you'd enjoy driving it.
I may have said it before but I drove America’s highways for almost 30 years and to ride along and not have to worry about the traffic and look around listening to the soundtracks is just......fabulous!
Great video and I absolutely love San Diego, my favorite place in California (tall task too because the state is great.) Sadly, I may not be back there for awhile.
Just to clarify, San Ysidro is not it's own town but just another neighborhood of the city of San Diego. Also, Mexican Radio was quite fitting considering that the song does mention Tijuana
Nice ride- San Diego is one of my favorite cities- I fell in love with it in 1990 when I was there and I have always loved seeing it in videos- etc- and I always loved CA 163 because I always found it scenic compared to some freeways I had been on before my trip in 1990- great ride- great video and also just great to see San Diego- I too want to go back and see what has changed since I was there! Thank you for making my day with this video!
Not sure if you've filmed this before, but TN-111 from Cookeville to Chattanooga would be a nice road to film on your way to/from visiting Erik. My dad and I took 111 last year (February) when driving from Michigan to Florida (as part of avoiding peak rush hour in Nashville; after leaving I-65 at Cave City, the full route went through or around Glasgow, Tompkinsville, Celina, and Livingston before hitting Cookeville)
And to think, we were just a few miles north (12-12-2 tour. Carlsbad, Ca) at this (or very near) time. Why is it that the oldest interstate in SD looks like more fun (10 fold) than anything around here? 😆 Hope you do get to travel this year, Jim! We're probably headed back up to the Idaho panhandle again. I fell in love with the area 5 years ago. Sure wish I still had a copy of "American stars & Bars". I wore the grooves out and still haven't replaced it digitally! Killer album!!!
Thanks, definitely hope you get to travel (gotta go east someday :) ). Even though I'm old I do like the convenience of digital and have converted all of my library to it.
If you come to Birmingham, do so during sunset or nightfall. The city just installed some cool color changing led lights under the bridge downtown 20/59 near the civic center. Best way to view is to head to 20/59 from highway 31N and take the Tuscaloosa exit. It’s very cool. Google Bham led lights to get to articles.

I recommend you put their songs like Mayday (PhaseOne & Modestep), Vantablack (Dirtyphonics & Sullivan King), Feel Something (Excision & Illenium), or anything like that! Nice seeing San Diego again. It would be nice to see 805 from end to end. And maybe CA-905. A lot of people don't realize how quickly you can drive from the city to the middle of nowhere here. Also, an updated I-85 through upstate SC after they complete the upgrade work in Cherokee County would be nice if you're headed up through Charlotte.
It would be great to see you do Tampa/Orlando this year, I-4 construction is (expected) to wrap up this year and the tollroads are amazing to drive on and Tampa’s highways (Veteran’s Expwy and US-19) that you didn’t film in 2017 would be awesome to see!

Jim, I'm surprised that this video was brought back and I think it was the first remix taken down because of a hit from Neil Young which is unsafe to use. Correct me if I'm wrong. Speaking of Neil Young, I know that last year, he doesn't want any of his songs in Spotify and Joni Mitchell did the same thing too.
Are you sure you'll cancel your trip to New England because of this continuation of the pandemic and the situation of the new UK and South African strains? Also, southern California surely does have a lot of controlled access highways, even in the Los Angeles metropolitan area have more than in San Diego. Thanks for showing what Video 21-01 will be. Also, how many remixes and unused footages you'll show next? I'm looking forward for the next few weeks about what will 2021 look like.

Film southbound 805 to the eastbound I-8, it is a neat and unique jct when you drop down into I-8 eastbound. It's like a huge 4 level and is a very kinetic experience.

The one I'm using that I was typing here is a Acer gaming laptop. It has 512 GB of storage, 8 GB of RAM, 17.3 inch laptop, Intel i5 core, and NIVDIA GeForce GTX 1650 running on Windows 10.

The iMac Pro I use to edit with now has a 5K 27" Screen (I also have a 27" Apple Cinema Display as a 2nd monitor) 32GB of RAM, a 2TB SSD, and a 3.2 GHz 8 Core Intel Xeon W CPU

The city of San Diego is only bigger than a city like SF or Boston cause it has a way bigger land area. But globally, it is nowhere near as famous as those cities. We also seem to forget, most of the western US was Mexico before the US won the war against them.
That's what happens when the airport is so close to the airport. As I recall, one of the big streets near the airport is on a flight path and has a plane crossing with gates.
Kinda wish Tijuana, BC (Baja California, which is just as much of a state as California or British Columbia (province in the latter's case, but same thing)) was put as a control city instead of just "International Border" or nothing, I believe Vancouver BC (British Columbia) is in the Washington road signs. Almost as if youre not supposed to go to Tijuana.
