Best beef soup bulalo. ❤ the Bone marrow. Filipinos love to consume meat a lot, rice, pops & sweets. No offence, we Filipinos has problems of being obbese. Developing hypertension, diabeties, leading to heart condition. It should be eaten in moderation.
It's such an awful stereotype that filipino food is all fried and I blame Manila for it. Regular filipinos don't eat those as a daily meal. Most of us eat fish and vegetables and at most, chicken, esp in the provinces. Heck some even use stingrays as base (Ginataang pagi). Please try Kinilaw/Kilawin, Pininyahang manok, Ginataang Kalabasa with Malunggay, Gising Gising, Laing, Pakbet, and of course the Sinigang. There are so many kinds of non fried filipino food. Heck if you try going out of Manila there would be good Kinilaw in the neighboring cities especially in Marikina. PS: Ginisang anything is good, really. I hope you guys give other kinds of filipino foods a shot because it's so unfairly judged by people who only focuses on the damn fried foods.
Luke is not only a skilful commentator, but has probably sampled more international street food than anyone else in the world. Bravo! Keep up the good work. . .
Balut sa puti is the perfect balut! Simply put it, the white part is wrapped around the whole duck egg inside, enveloping the yellow and tiny duck in the duck egg.
The banana rhum item is not cultural. But it must taste great. The Rendang is so Indonesian. But that cant be like the same taste with the Rendang in Bali.
I’m glad you got the chance to enjoyed our Filipino foods. Just be careful of your surroundings wherever you maybe. Enjoy your stay whenever you’re in Philippines.
Actually, you can make balut in the US, esp. if you have oriental stores near you, and just put it in the pressure cooker and don’t forget the beer responsibly hehehe
Snippet: Don't you just love steamy foods and Freshly Prepared before your eyes. Dishes appear too yummy not to give a try and very affordable. Come see us again soon. buen provechobe! blessed, chefs. Have a Wonderful Merry Christmas ✝ must behave. dec2023
I think you should try Ilocos/Ilocos Sur/Ilocos Norte part of Luzon. A little more vegetable friendly dishes, just be careful with bitter food, us ilocanos have an acquired taste for bitter!
That's the trade off when I decided to move to the US. I the Filipino street food. Your video brings back memories of my college days in Manila. I'm glad to see your reactions and your enjoyment. Have lots of fun and always be safe.

The bone marrow in the Bulalo does not really increase your bad cholesterol if eaten alone without rice or if you are on a low-carb diet. It is really the carbs that turn into sugar that is stored in the body the fats in beef. Since, according to experts, a 3-oz cooked beef contains 115 mg. of CHOLINE (21% of RDI of this nutrient that helps in burning LDL or bad cholesterol). In fact, medical doctors, in conjunction with naturopathic doctors, suggest their hypertensive patients eat Bulalo and other fatty meats in moderation, but of course without the rice and under their supervision/protocol. However, healthy individuals without diabetes or hypertension can enjoy this scrumptious Bulalo with any variety of rice. I love Bulalo and I eat it with cauliflower and/or other low-carb vegetables (substitutes for rice). Kudos, Luke and my Kababayan Chui. More amazing vlogs, please!
