I must say I was concerned when I found out The Iconic Regiments of Scotland were to be Amalgamated. Would each Regiment retain its own Proud Traditions & everything that each Regiment had that made then Unique Historically. The Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland are as good as any other Regimental Band in the UK, no doubt there. I watched the start of The Armed Forces Day Parade & now this, something wasn't right. It took a while but finally I got it, it could have been a Military Parade anywhere in England, even with the inclusion of several well known Scottish Marches, what was missing in the Parade was the unmistakable sound of the Pipes & I realised I've never seen a Parade or Military Spectacular without the stirring sounds of the Bagpipes in Scotland. The 21 Gun Salute, I found...err interesting. The British Grenadier not once but twice! At least they did have A Piper, just a shame he was wearing the Irish Saffron Kilt of the Pipes & Drums Corps of The Irish Guards Regiment of the Household Guards.
