Resnick identified two crucial problems: it is difficult to get eyes and ears in dangerous places, and even more so to gain a rapid understanding of real-time events in an emergency.
Literally cold-calling a SWAT team, he secured a meeting and identified critical issues in emergency response, particularly the confusion caused during the Harvest Festival incident.
Brinc, Resnic's venture, has successfully addressed the first issue, providing solutions for SWAT teams and beyond. After relocating to Seattle and securing funding, Brinc's drones, with features like glass-breaching systems and two-way audio for negotiating hostage situations, have garnered significant adoption, with $82 million raised.
Looking ahead, BRINC aims to address the second issue by enhancing real-time awareness in emergencies, including potential 911 response drones. Resnick emphasized the pivotal role of AI, stating that BRINC's drones won't even take off without it, showcasing the integral connection between technology and public safety.
