21 Years Later, AHC (Active Height Control) Still Works - 2000 Lexus LX470 

I have some reality check. First of all, it is a closed system and it is not supposed to lose AHC fluid. It means that you have a leak. The most likely place is rusted pipes under the car that go along the frame. When mine were rusted I had to drain the system, cut the rusted pipe and solder a new piece of pipe in using a blow torch and Muggy Weld silver solder SSF-6. It was a major PIA but the repair has been holding for more than 4 years already. I decided to repair it rather than replacing it with simple shocks as I really liked the Lexus ride quality. As a maintenance item, especially if you drive on salty roads in winter, keep your hydraulic lines underneath well lubricated to prevent rusting and to avoid future trouble.

Very nice ride! Good deal also. I serviced my ahc system and the fluid was also low. What happened was that the accumulator globes needed to be replaced. The membranes of the globes were torn and the globes filled with the fluid. So, if you notice that you have a pretty bumpy ride, most likely the accumulator globes need to be replaced.

Does the AHC fluid evaporate over time? Btw a video on a fluid flush would be cool, and might be suggested if your fluid is old….

Careful with the Toyota fluid. Toyota had some bad batches that caused damage to AHC pumps.

Hi brother. I have one Lexus LX470 2004 But There is a problem for the hydraulic system. When I put it to the of the high level. it's cannot be to to stop the high level. Automatically goes to normal level. If you have. Solution for that one. Please tell me .

Bigger tires and non-factory wheels? Depends on your market. Do it, if you're selling to kids. Otherwise, just new tires.

Seriously great trucks. Over engineered in every aspect. Every part is made to last 25 years in 3rd world country, bad roads, and bad gas. Just FYI high setting is meant for slow speeds. As you speed up to driving speeds it will automatically return to “N”
