Grandma pat This WAS THE BEST VIDEO. I FELT LIKE I WAS IN THE Kitchen WITH MY OWN GRANDMA. YOUR SUCH A BLESSING YOUR FAMILY IS SO BLESSED TO HAVE YOU IN THERE LIFE N YOUR STORIES WILL CONTINUE ON AND Recipes. Love you from West va
I used to work as a line cook in restaurants and when we would cut ourselves the first thing we were taught was to eat a spoonful of jam because the sugar will help clot your blood and the second thing was to clean the wound and apply crazy glue. I was shocked when I first saw this but oh boy it worked better than any bandaid! Love the recipe for the soup and the cornbread and coleslaw too, and i lve you too, Granny Pat. Please take care, you are a treasure! xoxox
That is definitely one of my favorite meals and the colder weather. I always add cabbage to my soup. It's so delicious, and the cornbread makes it hit the spot. Hope you have a wonderful New Year!
Hi, I just found you from Janet's slow stitching channel! Your soup & cornbread & coleslaw sounds really good! I just made a stew with a roast, onion, celery & potatoes & chicken broth. It's really good. I put several herbs in it. But I like yours too! I don't measure a lot anymore, either! I just get the cornbread boxes & make cornbread from one of them. My husband does most of the shopping, so he doesn't get everything I want! But that's ok. You are great at cooking. I don't know how old you are, you seam maybe around my age. I'm 74 yrs old. I try to make easy things & some baking things. I'm not too good at baking! I love to get some extra bowls, etc. But don't buy much. My china cabinet is full too! I have a very nice china set & silverwear in the china cabinet too! It all came together at a sale & trying to get it all sold. The ladys's husband passed away. So we got a good deal on that. Thanks for sharing your recipes! I'll be watching for more! ❤☺️
I really enjoyed spending time with you in your kitchen. That is a wonderful meal Pat. Thanks for sharing! You are just so sweet and kind to work to make these videos. I appreciate it. ♥️🕊👍🏻🙏♥️
Hi Granny Pat ive just started watching this video but had to comment my youngest don ehich is 31 now he loved Vegetable soup and cornbread with a glass of white milk that was his favorite thing to eat when he came home from kindergarten. He would eat it every day if he could and still loves it today. Pat you put everything in your soup that i do i love cabbage and macaroni in mine also, i will have to try your Cole slaw it looks so yummy. Thank you for doing these videos you are a dear treasure Granny Pat ❤
So, I was taking a break for lunch and switched on your Beef Vegetable Soup, Cornbread video and I was glad to see you included fixing the Coleslaw since it's also one of my favorite dishes! This 3 course meal you provided; the recipes, and the how-to's are very much like how my mother prepared it for our family back in the day and throughout our lives. She lived 94 years! She taught me well, and I've carried on many of hers and my ancestors' culinary traditions. Ironically, today, I had just finished thawing out several lbs of beef shank for stew I planned to make so I was extra interested in your video. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and took note of many of your tips. So glad your cut finger injury turned out OK, and I was riveted as you so beautifuuly told the entire story of your experience trying to attend to your injury amidst your preparation of this delicious 3 course meal! It was really wild about the super glue being a big part of the healing process... I'm definitely going to remember that! Thanks so much, Granny Pat You're the tops! 🪄✨️ 🫶🫠
A pair of kitchen shears is handy to cut food into smaller pieces vs using a knife..it goes fast and you don't need a cutting board so less clean-up. I make my vegetable soup pretty much like you make yours...and cornbread is a must- have with soup or soup beans at our house. I like to make a big pot of soup and freeze some for another meal. It's a great way to get a lot of veggies at one time and good year round to my way of thinking.
Lol I ❤ fat elbow macroni noodles in my Veg beef soup too. I'm funny about the Coleslaw too i got to have small slithers of cabbage. As well as veggies cur small. Cant wait to see the cornbread done. My geandma made fried cornbread she was from Bertie county NC.

Yum looks like a great supper! I am sure there’s a video on the subject of your collection of eye wear. I can’t wait till I find it. My granddaughters have Fancy Nancy dolls with lots of different glasses. I had to chuckle thinking about Fancy Nancy growing up to be like you. You are both enchanting.
I love watching you cook and explain your steps and the why… It brings back such fond memories of my Grandmum… 💖Your food always comes out looking delicious as well. Thank you for allowing us in your kitchen and life.

I make my vegetable beef soup almost identically to the way you make yours!!! There is nothing better than a good bowl of soup and fresh, hot cornbread !!!!!!! You are an absolutely fascinating-an amazing woman…so interesting and so kind. You are so beautiful to me inside and out…!!! I collect lots of things, too; and, guess what?-I don’t ever intend to stop…!!!!!!! I don’t buy many things anymore, but if I see something I want to add to one of my collections, especially if I’ve been looking for it for a long time, I usually buy it…!!! I own more sets of china than I will ever admit to-some 8-place settings and some 4-place settings; and, even a few odd place settings…I just adore everyday and fine china, crystal and other glassware…it really doesn’t need to be fancy at all…!!! I also collect vintage silver-plate flatware, serving pieces, trays, bon-bon dishes and candlesticks. I also love placemats, cloth napkins and napkin rings for every season of the year. I love to design and make centerpieces for my table and for all other areas of my home. To me, there is nothing prettier than a beautifully set table…!!! Seriously, life is really short…do what makes you happy…!!!
Wow! You almost described me. If I had a larger home, every nook and cranny would be filled with something old, probably gathering dust. I didn’t start gathering china and Fostoria until the last two years. I have always been a crafter and decorator. I couldn’t afford to buy the elegant things I wanted so I did the next best thing - I made them. There’s no end to doing the things you love. A newspaper reporter once asked why I made all these things. I told her because I had champagne taste and a beer pocketbook!
Loved it....new subscriber here. I'm going to make your beef stew this week. And you are right about Three Rivers Cornmeal being the best. When they stopped making it, I stopped eating cornbread after a few months. Could not find any other cornmeal I liked at all. I stay stocked up now on Three Rivers. Put it in freezer bags and keep it in the deep freeze. Did I understand you to say the pattern of your soup tureen is called Bittersweet? It is lovely. Going to have to visit Good Will more. I'll share out your video's and see if we can get those numbers up. It helps me to find someone that cooks on a smaller scale, with a little leftovers that will not go bad before I can eat it all. So thank-you for that. .....In Christ, Sherry
The bittersweet pattern is a desirable piece for me. Without research, I believe it is a 1930s-40s production. Three Rivers Meal - I believe they changed the formula somewhat. I hope not.
I think you put the cutting on the counter it will be more stable but u know that. My favorite is VEGETABLE BEEF with the meat flaky i don't like chunks. I like my veggies small too! I didn't know you pit beef stock are veggies stock bc i thought meat n fresh veggies would do it. Anyway i dont cook anymore i been sick n rarely eat. My fridge broke so theres no place to put cold foods. So i get microwave stuff its just depressing to eat a microwave meal no tatse. Anyway love you have a Blessed Christmas
Please take care of your self quickly if anything like that happens. My grandma cleaned the gas burner stove she picked up the black burner rack n burned her fingers. They ended up with gangrene. Later they cut the fingers off then later cut her arm off hand to elbow. Later she died. So please any cuts take it serious we dont heal so good when we are older. And if your diabetic is worse. Your lucky to have daughter n grandaughter helping you i have no one its a sad life. I watch utube with familys like you n find happiness seeing others happy
😋I definitely will try to make the cole slaw, I like it alot. I make my beef vegetable soup the same way, except for macaroni, however that is an interesting addition. Take care be safe. I like your eye wear...all of them.
Loved chatting while you prepared your evening meal. I love soup; I love coleslaw; and I love cornbread. I have an almost identical scar on my right index finger as you have. That sucker bled like a mother for days.
