@@bobcatforever3485 that's how it should be, albeit, on a calm day, with same rifle throughout. Fine job overall. Very rare, shooters use every ammo they can find. Need to say, no two weapons are the same. Can't arbitrarily say what works well for one machine will work the same in another. Should do that for every rifle you have. Again, fine job. Thanks.
@@sdsuch4353 Thank You. I appreciate you viewing and commenting. I agree with you, I am currently doing a series shooting 4 ammos in 4 different guns, and getting some unexpected results. Thanks again and take care.
Allen. Thanks for viewing and commenting. Not on this video, but on another video, I had a viewer make a similar comment. I think I don't know enough to even know what I should expect out of the Winchester. But thanks again I really appreciate your viewing. Take care.
Same here. Out of the big 4 major U.S. brands (Remington, CCI, Federal and Winchester), Winchester usually gives the worst accuracy from any type of firearms and the least reliability in semi-auto firearms. This is from my over 30 years of shooting 22 LRs in 20 different type of firearms.
Nice to see the bulk ammo did a good job. although it is not as cheap as it was five years ago. i usually go with thunderbolt and the bucket of 22 s only in the 500 bulk pack. today 325 would be considered bulk pack. federal also seems like a good choice.
Kenny. Thanks for viewing and for your comment. I do shoot a lot of bulk ammo, but right now I'm shooting no ammo because of 10" of snow on the ground! lol I do buy some of the more expensive ammo at times for special videos. Right now, I'm trying to pick ammos the I have never shot before just to see how they run thru my .22's when I can go shooting again. I still have a fair amount of .22 bulk ammo that I got when it was $20 to $25 for 500 rounds (sometimes even less). Thanks again, take care and happy plinking!
Thank you so much once again for an excellently researched and executed video. Lots of labor involved in putting these together, we appreciate it a lot, thank you! Don't know how I missed this one earlier. Now since I have pretty much the same ammo selection available to me I'll have to see how "my" 10/22 agrees or disagrees with yours. LOL That Winchester SuperSpeed was sure a surprise!
74Willy, Thanks for viewing and commenting! I always appreciate additional input. It would be interesting to see your results with your 10/22. I think the 10/22 is a really nice gun and shoots well. Thanks again and take care.
Here are some notes for you: #1 I have the exact same hat as you do...heheh, #2 You have wind drift on your shots, #3 Hyper velocity ammo seems to be inherently inaccurate and beats the heck out of your semi-auto receiver(not good) and lastly, in order to obtain a reasonable group per ammo type/brand, you need to shoot more than just 5 shots...season the barrel to that specific ammo. Still, I enjoyed your presentation. When I had my 1022, circa 1986, CCI Blazer and Aguila( ah-gee-la) Standard velocity were the most accurate in my specific rifle. A buddy of mine had a 1022 and it preferred Winchester Wildcat...go figure...lol
Tony. Thanks for viewing and for your comments. Gotta love the hat, you made a good choice. For sure the wind is often a problem when I go shooting, it tends to follow me wherever I go. Just two days ago I repeated this same shooting with a few different ammos and the hot ammos just don't group for me. Trying to do groups I prefer CCI Std Vel or Eley Club but was surprised by a couple of the other ammos. It will take me some time to edit all the video that I shot, but eventually a you tube video may show up. Thanks much again and take care.
datapro007, Thanks for viewing and commenting. The 10/22 is a very nice gun, like you said, it runs almost all ammos. Clean it, oil it a bit and it is ready to go. Thanks again and take care.
Slowhand11, Thanks for viewing and for your comment. I agree with you, I would not have thought that some time ago, but the more shooting I do the more it seems that way. Thanks again and take care.
Good video! I've been shooting the CCI Blazer with my 10/22 at 100 yards with aperture sights for a while now, results of this test were exactly what I expected. Same with the Stingers, they ended up being less accurate like in the video. I first started shooting Remington and then Winchester bulk box jacketed hollow points but I got sick of finding bullets loose or cocked in their shells and they were also giving me a failure to feed at least once per mag with some bullets getting the jacket marred or scraped off by the mag feed lip. I got a whole bunch of Blazer for almost the exact same price as the bulk garbage and couldn't be happier.
Joe. Thanks for viewing. I also appreciate your comment and sharing your experience. I have run across some of the same thing that you mentioned with some of the bulk ammo. I have shot a fair amount of Blazer in the past and was happy with it. More recently, when shooting for groups I have been using CCI Standard Velocity which seems to work well. Thanks again and take care.
Drip N Rip. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. I agree with you, my main go to round when shooting groups is the CCI Standard Velocity 40 Gr round nose bullet. Hard to beat for the accuracy and the price. Thanks again and take care.
Good video, I like CCI AR Tactical 1200 fps 40gr cprn they shoot very well in all my semi auto guns $29.99 300 round box second favorite would be the aquilia super extra
R Hare. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. When I'm trying to shoot groups I like CCI Std Vel but for anything else I like the hotter ammos like the CCI AR, CCI Mini Mags and the Super Extra as they will more likely cycle in most guns. Thanks again and take care.
I like the AR Tactical but I can't find any for about 7 years. The bullet shape is the same as CCI Standard Velocity, but copper plated with 1200 fps. I have shot some of my best groups ever with it.
I'm just another old guy and I enjoyed the video.. started shooting 22's when I was 10, shooting groundhogs on my Granddads Farm in Connecticut, I'm 72 now, how we boy's did love to shoot our 22's. We hunted those woodchucks all summer then switched to squirrels in the fall...
USARMY ... , Thanks for viewing. Also I appreciate your comment. Good to hear from another old .22 shooter from back on the farm. My first rifle was an old 1950's .22 Marlin bolt action. Back in the day we tended to shoot pigeons that always made a mess in the barn. I agree with you and I still enjoy just plinking around with the .22's Also, thanks for your service in the military! I was never in the military, but for sure I think highly of those who have been. Thanks again and take care.
Ray, Thanks for viewing and for your comment. How do you like your 10/22? Just tonight I dug out my oldest .22 LR. It's a Marlin Model 81-DL bolt action I got when I was a kid in the late 50's. There are a lot of nice inexpensive .22's out there. I have couple of the really cheap ones, but they are all fun to shoot. Thanks again and take care.
How you doing Bobcat The most informative .22 video I have ever had the pleasure to watch. Great attention to detail it just shows what different brands of ammo will do. I have just taken charge of a V22 Vudoo so I will take it out to 100 metres tomorrow. I will shoot CentreX and SK match and pass on my results. Take care and it's been a pleasure to both listen and learn. Regards from Scotland
Gordon, Thanks You! I appreciate your viewing and commenting. Sounds like you have some exciting shooting coming up. I would love to hear what you think after doing that shooting, please do pass your results on to me. Thanks, I have been doing well, was out shooting yesterday, but nothing super important, just a lot of fun. Also, nice to hear from you in Scotland! Take care.
Good job! I woould thiink a ten round shot group test would be a better percentage group test. But still a real good test. Thank-you! You give me some ideas! Question; did you clean the barrel between each series?
S Schuppel. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. I agree, 10-rounds would probably be a better test, get a bit more of a spread but would still be equal for all the ammos. I did not clean the gun during this test, so the later rounds came thru a dirtier gun. Also, I did not clean the gun at the start of the test. Thanks again and take care.
Thanks for the great video, great shooting, Going to have to get out my Savage Mark II TR and give some a try, mostly shoot CCI standard in it, do have some blazer but never tried them as yet in the TR.
Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. When I am shooting groups, I mostly shot CCI Standard also it tends to do well. In the past I shot a fair amount of Blazer as it was readily available a few years back. Thanks again take care and have a great Independence Day weekend.
Just found your channel via this video, and what a great video it is! A quick scroll through your channel and I can see there are a ton of videos that you have produced that I definately want to watch, so I subscribed and have some catching up to do. You deserve way more subscribers than you have- I'm quite baffled to be honest why you have so little with such awesome content. At any rate, keep up the great work!
Guns&Cars. Thanks. Good to hear that you found this channel and subscribed, again thanks much. We tend to do a variety of things, but mostly just have fun shooting. Thanks for the kind words about the channel, that always keeps us going. Two days ago, I did some similar shooting to what is on this video but will take me forever to edit it. Thanks again, I appreciate your viewing and commenting. Take care.
Thank you. I enjoyed your video and found it very informative. It is interesting to see that most groups 'settle down' after the first fouling shot. It would be good to find out the group sizes of the best performing ammo if you shoot two fouling shots first. I think the groups might tighten up even more. i am currently shopping for a 22LR setup, so this video was very helpful. Thanks again.
Stephanus, Thanks For Viewing. Also thanks for commenting. I agree, I almost always have at least one wild shot per group. Often on a five shot group I will measure just the best four and compare the groups like that. You probably already know this, but I tend to get the best groups when shooting subsonic ammo, like CCI Standard Velocity or other similar ammos. Thanks again and good luck with the search for the .22 LR setup. Take care.
Great job! I've shot most of the ammo's you used with similar results. I was pleasantly surprised by that cheap Blazer stuff. I bought 6,450 rounds of it during 2020 @ $3.98/100 & found it to run well in all my 22's. This old farm boy has 6 handguns & 4 rifles in .22 & enjoy just plinking around the barnyard with them. Keep up the good work.
Ronald, Thank You! I appreciate your viewing and commenting. You did good with your ammo, that should last for some time. I also had bought .22's over the past years and am OK for now. I only have a couple .22 handguns, but several rifles which are just plane fun to shoot. I was raised on a small dairy farm back in the day (actually where I shoot now). Back in the mid 50's I got my first .22 rifle an old Marlin bolt action. Plinking is fun, keep up the good work and take care.
@@bobcatforever3485 Won't last as long as I'd like. Used 10,950 rounds in 2020. But I also have good stocks of several other bulk pack stuff - Win M22, Win 555, Fed VP & AutoMatch, Rem Thunderbolt & Golden Bullet, Armscor.
@@ronaldperkins4222 Wow, you are getting out there and doing a bit of shooting. It's good that you picked up that 6,450 rounds. Looks like you are in shape for another fun year of shooting. I would like to get out and do some shooting, but our long range forecast is pretty crummy. Take care.
First time watching your videos I really enjoyed them particularly this one. Thanks for all the hard work you put into making them! Like you I enjoy the sport of shooting especially 22lr I own 6 - 22lr rifles and miss not being able to shoot them this time of year. Hope all is well and God bless you.
Charlie, Thanks So Very Much. I appreciate the kind words. I, like you enjoy shooting .22 LR. I have several rifles and just got a new one for Christmas, but have not been able to shoot it yet (too cold and a bit of snow). I don't have any real expensive guns, just mostly plinkers. But even the cheap ones are fun to shoot. Thanks again and take, Lord Bless You Also. Merry Christmas.
@@bobcatforever3485 I also appreciate your effort here and am your brother in arms but have to mention that I've found better grouping (when I switch ammo type) by shooting 5-10 rounds of it through my rifle *before* I paper it, both to warm the barrel if cold, and to acclimate the barrel to each ammo's particular lube - I suppose - and I also toss out the flier by always firing 6 rounds and keeping the best 5 for a better representation of each ammo's true character.
@@RU2AIM Thanks for the additional comment/input. I will have to give conditioning the barrel a try next time I am attempting to shoot tight groups. But probably not until the Spring (sad to say). Thanks again I appreciate your comments. Take care and Merry Christmas.
Found your video today and really enjoyed it. I have couple 10/22s and the latest one is from the Ruger Custom Shop. It tightens up the groups tremendously without spending a fortune on match ammo. My favorite is CCI Standard Velocity, Federal AutoMatch and Geco Bolt Action. Thank you very much for all your time, energy and money, these days 22s are not cheap. Have a wonderful day.
Luther, Thanks For Viewing! And thanks for your comment/input. Sounds like you have a couple great guns. My 10/22 is probably fairly old, it was my father-in-laws. It is a very nice gun for shooting and just plinking around. I'm no ammo expert, but I have in general had my best groups also using CCI Standard Velocity and also at time using ELEY Club. Most of the ammo I have been shooting is what I bought prior to things getting out of control. Thanks again and take care.
I have a Ruger American 22 and a PSA dedicated 22lr ar upper. The Ruger likes norma tac and stingers the best. The PSA likes Remington subs and vipers the best The 4 I listed all were under 3/4 inch at 50. What works for me doesn't work for you and vice versa. Nice groups you got there Also when I was in Oregon the Ruger loved Winchester 333 and when I moved to a different elevation it hates it now
Thanks much for taking a look and commenting. My shooting leaves a bit to be desired. But you're shooting 3/4" groups is great! I would be very happy with that. Thanks again and take care.
It took you to finally make a decent 22-ammo comparison video! Camera on the targets, 2 types of ammo at a time & no wasted time blabberin away about nothing. Congrats. Subscribed!
@armedfarm3429. Thanks (I think) lol. Now for real, I appreciate your viewing and commenting. My videos can be a little lame but remember I'm really old and for the most part just have fun shooting. Hi bobcat, i like your style mate. A very clear and informative video with non of the usual bull****, we've come to expect. Just about the best comparison video on .22lr ammo i have seen. Keep 'em coming and stay safe my friend. All the best from the UK.
Buckshotaaa, Thanks Very Much! I appreciate your viewing and commenting. We're kind of low profile down at the farm and don't take ourselves to seriously. I try to do things right and make them relevant, but most of all we try to have fun and just enjoy shooting. Thanks again and take care.

Ron. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I agree with you CCI Std Vel is also my go to round. Lately I have been doing some of these 50Y .22 LR challenges and have been shooting the Std Vel. I'm not a great shot but having a lot of fun. Thanks again and take care.
David. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. The only cooling the gun got was when I had to go and change targets probably just a couple minutes the time it took to walk the 50 yards both ways. Thanks again and take care.
Thank you for your time, energy and money to bring us these results. Not bad shooting in the breeze. This is in my opinion a very honest test for your rifle.
Christina. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. That was a bit more involved than my typical video, but it is always fun shooting. Thanks again and take care.
Correct, nothing beats a day at the range plinking. I really enjoyed your video Sir and as was mentioned, you did put in a lot of effort. You do need to adjust your windage to the left a little I believe. However you shoot very well. Thanks for sharing.
Roger, Thanks for viewing and commenting. I agree, I should have gotten the gun/scope centered before doing all that shooting. I also agree that being out at the range for a day is really fun! Thanks again and take care.
You remind me I need to get out and do some plinking. I have 3 remington 513T rifles. I use only shoot one and can get 5 rounds in a quarter size group at 100 yards....on a no wind day. Thank you
Larry, Thanks for viewing and commenting. If I was shooting as good as you are with the Remington 513T, I would probably go shooting more often myself. I'm working on a video right now with shooting a couple bolt guns and lever gun (and that is at 50 yards), I might fit some of them in a Silver Dollar at best. Thanks again and you need to get out there and crank up those Remington's. Take care.
Zulutime. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. Thanks for bringing that up. That may change my thinking a bit. Thanks again and take care.
Really enjoyed this. I have several of the brands you tested out in my stash. Seems like the blazer did really well. I have good luck with blazer. Feeds well and all. Maybe it's just my imagination. But it seems to leve the gun dirtier than most other bands.
Roger. Thanks for viewing. And I appreciate your comment. I had just shot some Blazer about a week ago thru my Ruger Mark III handgun that I had put a scope on just for the fun of it. I could not hold that gun still with the scope up so close to my face. That video may never see the light of day. But I digress, I was told that the Blazer was very similar to the more expensive Mini Mag?? I have also had good luck with the Blazer, that is all I shot a few years back. I don't really know about how dirty it is compared to other ammo. Thanks again and take care.
Mark, Thanks for viewing and commenting. I have not shot Stingers very often as they have been more expensive than my normal plinking ammo. I will have to pay more attention next time I am out with one of my bolt guns. I expect you and I are like a lot of other .22 shooters, it's fun no matter what we are shooting or what we are shooting at. Thanks again and take care.
The only trouble with accuracy testing 22lr ammo is that literally every gun will shoot them differently. My friend has two functionally identical Ruger 10/22's and they both shoot a particular ammo best. And he also has another .22 rifle that shoots another completely different ammo more accurately.
1958PonyBoy. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. I tend to agree with you, but I'm not sure how to test a bunch of ammo other than thru just one gun. I guess the best thing to do is for each individual to test a bunch of ammo thru his gun and pick the best one and I expect that is what most people do. Thanks again and take care.
@@bobcatforever3485 That's what my friend told me. Just try a bunch of different types of ammo out of the gun that you're using and find out which one works best in that particular gun. Take care yourself and keep shooting! 🤠
Good stuff! My 10/22 manual says to not use Stingers: the cases are slightly longer than standard.22lr and they won’t chamber correctly. Not sure if that’s why yours were so erratic, but it wouldn’t surprise me.
Dogscratcher. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. What you mentioned could be at least part of the problem, in addition to that my experience has been that these faster bullets are just not as consistent as things like CCI Standard Velocity and other ammo at about that speed. In general practice I don't shoot stingers but do use them occasionally when putting a test together. I also heard they are not good for semi auto rifles as they hammer things a bit. Thanks again and take care.
I did watch this video when you just posted it and now again. It is nice to see the competition shooters with their expensive competition rifles and expensive ammo, but it does not really apply to me. This is more in my line with a run of the mill rifle, affordable ammo and a average backyard shooter like myself. This I can relate to and know what to expect when using these ammo.
L.V-Rider. Thanks For Viewing And Commenting. I agree with you most of us do not have an expensive precision rifle. My most costly rifles are my Ruger 10/22 and a Henry lever action both were likely around $300 or less. Probably like you, I just enjoy shooting and .22's are really fun and low cost compared to other ammos. A few days agon (when it was warm) I shot four ammo that I don't believe I had ever shot before out of my 10/22 (video to follow once I edit). Thanks much again and take care.
@@bobcatforever3485 I also took up airgun shooting last year and enjoy it very much. Here in South Africa .22LR ammo became very scarce and expensive. Quality airgun pellets are costing way less than .22LR so I can shoot much more. I did not buy those expensive PCP stuff with everything going with it, just a break barrel in 5.5mm.
@@L.V-Rider Good idea to move to an airgun when ammo gets out of control. About 6-months to a year ago it was difficult to find any ammo and it was 3 times more that normal. We are still paying 1.5 to 2 times what it should be. There is still some ammos that are difficult to find. Standard handgun ammo (.380, 9mm, .40) are in abundance now but still cost more than it should. I have a small air rifle that you have to pump up, it goes at ~650 fps at best. I would like to get a good break barrel gun. Thanks again and nice talking with you.
It's crazy that some ammo will tend to hit off to the right etc. when shooting from the same gun. I would assume that the gun is sighted in to hit groups near the center at 25 yards and then end up with varying results at a longer distance.
Thanks for viewing and commenting. I have found out if a person shoots a variety of .22 LR ammo there will for sure be variation side to side and up and down. I sighted the gun in at 50 yards on a rest at the bench (sometimes sighted in better than others). Thanks, again and take care. If interested another .22 LR video with some fairly good ammo. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ywGECfHeCZI.html

Terry. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. Thanks again, and we are indeed blessed to be in this country. Pray that you have a blessed Christmas. Take care.
Steven, Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. I tend to agree, at 50 yards it seems that most ammos will group fairly well unless they are really bad. Possibly 100 yards would shake out the good from the not as good. Thanks again and take care.
Hey, thank you for taking the time and putting in the effort to make this video! Just got a 10/22 today, looking forward to trying some of these brands myself :)
Stephen. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. I think you will really like your 10/22, they are very nice guns. My 10/22 is a bit older as it had been my fathers-in-law's. It is always fun to check out different ammos to see how they run in your gun. Have fun! Thanks again and take care.
@@timburton9514 I do indeed love it! Best groups I’ve gotten were with Eley Match, Norma Tac 22, and Wolf Match. Not a fan of the stock irons (poor sight radius), and couldn’t hold much of a group with them. I really wanted to keep iron sights on the rifle (so no magnified optics), and discovered the Tech Sights, which are M1/M16 style peep sights. Total game changer, and I’m able to put rounds in a single jagged hole at 25yds now. Love the gun and the sights
Terry. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I agree with you. I shoot all kinds of ammo in my videos, but my standard for comparison is CCI Standard Velocity. It is easy to find and groups well as for what it is, and dose not cost an arm and a leg like some of the match ammos. Thanks again and take care.
Lane, Thanks For Viewing. I also appreciate your comment. It is really good to see more ammo becoming available. I agree, .22's are just plane fun to shoot and cost effective. I was actually down at the farm shooting some today. Thanks again and take care.
all the time, money, & energy and no summary or target comparison.... Definitely worthwhile and we're appreciative of all the effort & money, but if you ever do some further editing on this I strongly suggest a comparison at the end so it's much easier to keep track of the results and refer back to as our memories start to fade. Thanks again
s k. Thanks. I appreciate you taking a look. For sure I could have done that better. Maybe if it ever warms up and stops raining, we will do it again with some additional ammos. Thanks again and take care.
Avrami. Thanks for viewing. Your choices sound good to me also. They should do the job rather well. Don't know if you have ever watched the "OldFatDad Goober" on RU-vid, but he has a fair amount of good .22 LR content you would probably like. Thanks again and take care.
Great video! Thanks for taking the time and cash to do it. 1 Question. Have you tuned your rifle? When I test ammo I shoot 10 rounds. Then will place a 1/2" washer over the center of the group and draw a line. I count any round hitting the line as a hit. Then assign a percentage to that ammo. ie.. 80, 70 60 %. I figure doing it this way is actually a 1" group.
Gerald. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. No, I have not tuned my rifle. I'm pretty low key and primarily shoot just for fun not that I don't try to do well. I like what you suggested and will give that a try. Lately I have been following some fellows doing these 50-yard challenges from "No Pro" and others you might be interested in taking a look. They then to have better guns than I do. Thanks again for taking a look and I like your comments. Take care.
Excellent manner in which to test the various products. I think it's one of the best videos I've seen. At one point during the tests, it looked like the wind picked up a bit. There's a lot of valuable information to be had. Thanks, excellent job.
@notbraindead7298. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. Also, thanks for the kind words. The wind is often an issue for me, the positive thing if there is one is that I am shooting to the west, so the wind is generally in my face. I should get ambitious and do part of that again but only with the more popular ammos to see anything has changed. Thanks much again and take care.
581s & 10/22 both with 3x9x40 on top. & a Pathfinder. My 22's. Rifle and revolver same caliber. CCI Mini Mag 40gnRN- Agulara 40gn RN- CCI 40gn RN SV. Most used ammo.
Keith. Thanks. I appreciate your taking a look. I agree with you those are good ammos. I have a couple guns that like a little hotter ammo and the Mini Mag's handle that well. For group shooting I like the CCI Std Vel. I don't have as much experience with the Agulara. Thanks again and take care.
Out of my ruger LVT hogue paired with the bushnell rimfire bz22 and federal automatch and get 1/2 groups at 50 yards, now it's outshot aguila super extra 40 & 38 gr, cci sv, cci mini mag, remington and winchester. Also the scoperings on the rifle seem a tad too high.
Thanks for taking a look and for your comment. Sounds like you have a really good gun/scope setup. I would be thrilled to get 1/2" groups at 50 yards. Thanks again for viewing and sharing your experience. Take care.
What do you think your doing? Sorry but Your ammo test is for that specific barrel on that gun under those conditions with that shooter! Doesn't apply to anyone else except to show them what they need to do with their guns! Then if you tune your barrel you need to do that with about 100 rounds of the same ammo thru the tuner. So you cant tell people which ammo is best for them....
cfm. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I agree with you, folks should test their ammo in their guns. Then pick what they like and have a great time shooting. Thanks again and take care.
This is a worthwhile exercise for everyone with a .22LR. My Glenfield (Marlin) 75 likes CCI MiniMags, Rem. Hi-Speed (I think that's been replaced with the Golden Bullet), and Win. SuperX. It does best with target loads except Federal. It doesn't like any kind of Federals. It doesn't like Thunderbolt or Blazer, either. Hyper speed loads, like the Stinger, also don't shoot well. Maybe it's the short barrel. So, I mostly shoot MiniMags. Funny, it doesn't seem to care whether it's solids or hollow points. I am still trying to find what will shoot well from my Ruger American .22LR. Anybody have a suggestion?
WDTA UT, Thanks for viewing and commenting. I appreciate all of your input. For the most part when I am shooting groups, I tend to do better with the bit slower CCI Standard Velocity. Thanks again, I really appreciate the detail of your comment. Take care.
Timothy. Thanks. I have to agree with you. Why pay two or three times the price when shooting varmints. I have a lot of the more normal ammo, but if my goal is to shoot groups, I tend to use CCI Standard Velocity or some similar. If you want to see some of the higher end ammo being shot, check out "Boomstick 779" he does a lot of rifle and ammo evaluations. Thanks again and take care.
Tom. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. That is some great shooting. I don't think I have ever come close to that, but I'm never going to stop trying. I was out today; it was a beautiful day here in NE OH. Thanks again and take care.
The CCI Quite 22 is basically designed for 20-25 yards, so that is why is has such a drop at 50 yards. I am surprised that you hit the 50 yards target at all.
Alfonso, Thanks And I Agree. I think they are going something like 700 fps. I probably shouldn't have even bothered with them. I expect those would be good for shooting rats at close range on the farm. Thanks again I appreciate your viewing and commenting. Take care.
You can't use what works on someone else's gun,, the best way to get the most acurate bullet is to try different ammo in your (own) gun,, every rifle shoots a little different no matter what brand it is....
Bryant. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I agree with what you said in your comment. You would think that at just 50 yards most ammo would hit pretty much in the same location, but I have seen them go off to one side or the other as much 2"-3" even with comparable group size. Thanks again and take care.
Good day uncle! Ajay Adityan here from India... I love. 22lr shooting and I am a sports shooter here. It's a very nice and decent shooting of yours.. great job uncle!! Why not try few eley tenex and show us the performance.... Finally the video was nicely edited.... it was crispy only shows shooting...no bla bla...stuffs
tuffy173. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. The scope I was using is a Bushnell 6-24X50AOEG. I can't say for sure what power I was using, but generally from 50 yards I set the scope at 16 power. Thanks again and take care.
Dan. Thanks for viewing and commenting. It could be that with someone other than me may have gotten better results with the 10/22. Someone younger and with better eyes. Thanks again and take care.
Paul. Thanks for watching and commenting. I will try to remember this for the future when changing from one ammo to another. Thanks again and take care.
Leonard. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and especially your comment. You know I have not paid as much attention to the possibility of squib rounds as I should have. Thanks for your reminder. Take care.
I’d suggest a test of quality control of each manufacturer. Duds and light loads can be dangerous. I wonder how many flyers are due to poor quality ammo.
@@leonardgrant3565 I agree with you. I have not had a dud lodge in a barrel but have often had rounds the did not sound right that were likely light loads. Could make for poor group shooting. Thanks again.
Hello, I have watched this video a couple of times before and found something that may be of benefit to this guy and others. The word is acclimation when switching between different brands of .22 ammunition. Two RU-vid videos. Acclimating / Seasoning Your 22lr to Your Ammo @ 3:10 acclimation GunFather Precision THE MOST ACCURATE 22LR BOLT ACTION I HAVE EVER SHOT - VUDOO RAVAGE @8:35 acclimation 22plinkster
Thanks for viewing again and commenting. I need to work on doing the right thing when switching from one ammo to another. And then remember to do each time. Thanks again and take care. Also, I would like warm weather and sunshine if possible.
John. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I agree with you. The only time I shoot Stingers is for a RU-vid video as a comparison to other ammos. My ammo of choice is CCI Std Velocity. I'm getting ready to do another ammo comparison (for groups) and there are no stingers in the ammo box I loaded a couple days ago. Thanks again and take care.
Shahid. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I like the Velocitors as well, they are a nice fairly hot round and tend to shoot well. Thanks again and take care.
Sailguy0321. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I also like ELEY, especially ELEY Club. I have shot some of my best groups with Club. Club is expensive and hard to come by so I have been shooting more CCI Srd Vel lately. Thanks again and take care.
I have found the CCI quiets are a very consistent round but at 100 yards the drop very dramatically The Federal American Eagle is a very good round in my guns
Michael. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. I will have to give the Quiets a try for group shooting in the future. I think I have a couple boxes. Not sure if I have any of the American Eagle, but have had good experience with them in other calibers. Thanks again and take care.
Victor, Thanks! And you are right, better ammo shoots better for the most part. CCI Std Vel is good, but ELEY is a hair better. Thanks again and take care. PS: I believe it was the Winchester that surprised me a bit.
Rodney, Thanks for viewing and commenting. I agree, 25 yards would seem to be about right in order to get any where near the bullseye without changing the scope settings. At ~700 fps compared to a CCI Std Vel round at ~1070 fps there was about a 6 inch drop for the CCI Quiet rounds at 50 yards. Plus I don't think the Quiet rounds will run thru most semi - auto rifles (probably will not cycle). Thanks again and take care.
Casey. Thanks For Viewing and Commenting. I didn't think about that. I could have loaded one at a time in the mag, doubt that it would have ejected them, but could have also done that manually. I will keep that in mind if that comes up again. Thanks again and take care.
Phrede. Thanks For Viewing And Commenting. Not just from this video but from other shooting I have done; I have had good results from the CCI Standard Velocity and ELEY Club and I am sure that there are others that are good as well. Right now I'm not sure there is much difference in the costs. Back when you could buy normal ammo like Blazer for $2.50 to $3.00 a box ELEY Club was like $7.50 to $8.00 a box. Thanks again and take care.
