Not exactly, because the 22 Lr can't hold a candle to the 22 magnum when using full power ammo. Bur you are correct that the the 22 mag doesn't gain anything over the Lr with subsonic ammo. I personally wish they would have made a heavier grain offering for the sub sonic 22 magnum....60 grains or more mayne

My thoughts exactly. What's the point? A .22 mag. is just a faster moving 22 lr. Reducing it's velocity is pointless unless you don't own a .22lr. and want to make do. .22lr rounds with very heavy bullets moving subsonically are readily available.

@Blue collar Hero .22LR does indeed fit in the breech of a .22 mag. It may split the brass and may not be accurate but it fits. >22mag brass was made larger to prevent the possibility of injuries when used in very old .22 LR. However I was not saying you should fire them in .22mag rifles. I said why would you buy a subsonic .22 mag for use in a .22 mag unless you didn't also own a .22lr because heavy subsonic LR rounds are readily available.

@Blue collar Hero I understand that and I'm not being argumentative.. what in saying is a 22 caliber projectile traveling at 960 fps amd weighting 40 grains has identical kenetic energy amd ballistics regardless of the case its fired from this make it exactly the same as a 22 lr

Bro some on you tube taking hogs with a 22lr subsonic up too 400lb. Didn't think it was possible myself as had issues with subsonics in South Africa on duiker. The built never even made it to the lungs. Had to take it with a 223. Never touch subsonics again

@@christiannelson730 I have been hunting hogs for 20+ years and use 6.8 SPC supersonic, 44 magnum both super sonic and subsonic, and .223 both supersonic and subsonic. After killing more than a thousand hogs, I would never dream of trying to kill a hog over 20# with the .223 subsonic. I do not believe anyone has ever killed a 400# hog with a subsonic .22LR unless maybe with the muzzle held to the hog’s head. Even then, I’m not convinced it would do the job.

It should be at least 60gr considering .22lr has it with the Aguila SSS. I'd like to see 70gr subsonic .22 WMR some day, that'd be cool.
