for those who don't know,.22s come in different cartrige lenghts and power levels. shorts ,long,long rifle,shot shells. they are all fun to shoot if you have the proper gun to fire them

Thanks. Over my 24 years at this location, I've gone through about 10 different shooting table tops, i guess. This one is Cedar, so it should easily last until I'm slinging lead at that great shooting range in the sky! :-)

The first handgun I ever fired was a .22 revolver as well. It is an old H&R 6-shot Gunfighter that belonged to my great-grandfather. And I still have it. It's a little rough around the edges, but it still shoots great and accurately. I really enjoy it.

My first gun is a High Standard Sport King model 103. It is as accurate as any gun ever made. I bought it Gibson's Discount Center. It was my go to gun of choice until the Glock pistols arrived on the scene. I love the gun still.

I also have a .22 revolver that I would never trade or sell. It's an H&R Model 949 bought by a friend of my dad's back in the 1970's. The friend gave it to me as a late birthday present, and I was extremely happy. It also is chambered for 9 shots, but it's strange. It is double action, but it loads like a single action. I get routine offers of people wanting to buy it when I go plinking, but not as high as your revelation. I get offered $300-400 and I politely decline.

I'm going to do a couple of AR videos with my short Bushmaster (my deer decoy hunting rifle :-) ) and my 25-year-old Colt A-2. Honestly, I know others love them, but I've never had must attraction to conversion kits. I see the .22 as a separate little animal and have never been motivated to make my 1911 or AR-15 a .22 Rimfire. Guess I'm not very typical, though.

I was taken to a Manitou ditch with Mr. Caine who had a Ruger Security Six and let me shoot at a can in the ditch when I was about 7. I still remember the day. I took a CCW class with a Ruger Mark III with tru glo front sights that were very easy to use. The only thing was it was a bear to clean and put back together and only after finding a You Tube video on how to do it was I able to get it back together. Four of us worked on it until then to no avail. Good shooting. I shoot an HR 9 shot too.

Great Videos!!! I've been enjoying them all morning!! You're range is awesome, looks like that took some time. It would be sorta tough for me to do that in my back yard here in Los Angeles. . . haha. That Revelation revolver reminds me of my dad's old Harrington and Richardson. I think it was the first handgun he shot as well, back in the 50s. It was a bit dangerous to shoot though - every now and then the cylinder would crack open at the top. . . haha.

My pleasure. No need for apology's everyone has at one time been a beginner. Imo go and visit a local gun shop and or range as most are very helpful and most have a basic firearms and or safety course. You can also visit local gun owners forums in your area for more advice and such as they would know more about your area's gun info, laws, where to shoot or etc. When online? I'm sure you know to be aware as there is a lot of misinformation out there, so be careful. Good luck and be safe!

Re: Remington Golden Bullet 22LRRF ammo: I have a Ruger Mk III that will misfire about one out of every magazine. I blamed ammo malfunction. However! In the Beretta U22 Neos, every round pops off. Turns out the Ruger is light-hitting on some shots. I removed the firing pin from the bolt and honed the sides of the pin on a diamond stone (it's stamped from sheet steel), and polished it on 2000-grit paper. Huge improvement. Every round goes like it should.

I agree that a 22 LR may not stop a drugged up intruder bent on harming you, but it can be a good cartridge in most cases if you want to use an actual firearm but also if you want to give the intruder a chance to run away and come out of it alive. I think that it would be a traumatizing event for any of us to actually have to use, say a 12 gauge or comparable round on a human... to the point where you might hesitate the next time if you had to do it repeatedly (like in a SHTF scenario). I'm not very experienced but judging by some ballistics tests, it seems that a 22 LR would do the job at frightening the bad guy but still giving them more of a chance of survival than if they were hit with a larger round. If you have a semi-auto, you can always shoot multiple times.
@whiskeyinthejar24

I just recently realized that .22 shorts were still available! The box is so tiny. I still like them. It's funny to be at a range with this, people are sometimes making a lot of noise, and I'm more in airgun territory. It definitely gets a laugh sometimes. I've never seen a bulk pack of them, maybe a thousand rounds would just be like a quart? Never thought of that until just this moment.

i know im not old enough to own guns but i do alot of with my uncle(dad isnt exactly in the picture) and i also have saved up enought money for guns and gave it to my uncle for him to purchase for me, I dont have alot of guns, three actually, a Ruger M77 in the 7 mag, a Remington 870 youth model in the 20 gauge(used it for sporting clays shooting when it fit me, and a Ruger single six revolver, so a rifle, shotgun, and a pistol, all a 15 year old could want. I just wanted to share my opinion.

@imjustwonderful , Huh, what did you say? Actually, I don't know about that, but you should almost always use ear protection while shooting.

Mostly a good guess, but there just seems to be more freedom left in those states!
