With Disney cashing in on live action films, don't be surprised if you get your wish. Considering that most of the new movies have not lived up to the original, I am in no hurry to see anymore made for a while.

What i meant was that by Anastasia being created by another company means that how she is portrayed cannot be given credit to disney since her movie was produced b4 disney bought said company. Since they didnt have any say in the creation of the movie they cant or wont make her a Disney princess and they cant brag about how awesome she is. You are right people try put excuses why she should not be considered a princess, like she is not linked with royalty thats not true cause not only Zeus is a god but he also is the king of the Olympus and all goods, like she is not the protagonist of the film, Jasmine isn't either or that Mulan is it because though she is not linked with rotalty She made an act of heroism. Anna Yes I also know about the fact that in the real myth she is in fact a princess the princess of Thebes. But what I meant is that even ignoring that in the disney version she should still be considered a princess because her partner Hercules is the prince of the gods,son of Zeus the king of the gods, so that would make her a princess.

While I agree that she is definitely one of the best disney heroines, she isn't a princess as she doesn't really have any connections to royalty. (I still get annoy when people say Mulan is a princess, even though she was not born into royalty, nor did she marry into it.)

Technically, it's never confirmed that they got married, also it's not out of the realm of possibility that when Hercules chose to stay mortal, it could be considered that he abdicated his right to the throne. But that could just be me looking to far into things.

I was so disappointed at how she was portrayed in Once Upon A Time. They made her a weeping damsel of a child, and only had her for one episode. She could’ve been Regina’s sarcastic soul mate if done more like this. The missed potential was disappointing.

It’s implied that she’s older and more experienced than he is, she’s comfortable with her sexuality-and yet she isn’t shamed or maligned for these things. She straight up calls out men who think “no means yes.” She’s presented as sympathetic, heroic, and worth protecting. She’s also just an all around great character. Good job, Disney. Good job.

She should be on the Disney princess list 1. She marries a GOD 2. she saves Hercules and gets herself killed 3. She is a good role model 4. She isnt dependent on a guy 5. She isnt a girly girl and can yell at THE GOD OF THE UNDERWORLD Edit: holy crap i just came back to this, thanks for all the likes!! What I meant by “girly girl” was she’s really sarcastic and blunt, she wasn’t depicted as a sing song pretty girl. She was depicted as a strong woman that delt with selling her soul to save the man she thought loved her. That’s heavy stuff. The movie shows us her emotional scars, and even her healing. This is why I love Meg so damn much!! (She was really Feminine not Girly and the times that she was, she was doing it to try and free her soul. So she wasn’t really acting like That freely and on purpose. Just like how Jasmin tries to seduce Jafar for her freedom and his demise.)

Honestly, I think she should be considered a princess. They call Zeus the "King of the gods", right? So Hercules is basically a prince. Meg married Hercules, so she should be counted as a princess.

Not that the movie was mythologically accurate, but originally Megara was the oldest daughter of Creon, the king of Thebes. So a source material argument in favor of her royalty seems pretty airtight.

Being an actual princess is not neccessary for being a Disney Princess™ (see: Mulan and Pocahontas.) Even Esmeralda from Hunchback of Notre-Dame was one of the original Disney Princesses, but was later removed from the lineup for not selling as much as the others - which is the reason Meg isn't an official Disney princess: she doesn't sell enough toys, costumes and school supplies. Same thing applies to Jane (Tarzan) and Kida (Atlantis: The Lost Empire).

Meg was anything but the typical disney princess, Jane was highly intelligent and a scholar, Kida was a princess who fought, Esmeralda was a strong female role not a damsel fought, Mulan was a literal solider turned general,Pocohontas though not accurately portrayed was intelligent, adventurous, and confident in herself, basically all the women who are portrayed as strong, confident, intelligent, and beautiful are low sellers. megan d nah she was 16, she was in that phase when you date a guy for a week and he is already the love of your life, and then she discovered she was engaged to someone else ( didn't know it was the same guy) and went into rebel mode(quite underdtandable) using the boy she had just met as the perfect excuse to avoid a marriage she didn't want.

Aurora lived all her life in the secluded woods, away from everyone but those three fairies and one day she meets a very handsome and charming young man her age who looks at her like she is the eighth wonder of the world and later turns out to have slayed a dragon/the most powerfull dark fairy to save her. Can't blame her for swooning honestly. On the other hand Meg sacrificed her soul once to a man who didn't deserve it and learned from that.

Rebel Love totally agree. You have to rewatch the movie as an adult to fall in love with meg and to laugh with hades. It’s my favorite disney movie, the one in which I can identify myself. And Meg’s quote is totally true. When you trust someone you also give him/her the power to destroy you. And when that happens is so painful. You learn to be more cautious with people
