The ATR-42 is a turboprop regional airliner that made its maiden flight in 1984. It can carry up to 50 passengers or 4.9t (ATR 42-500 5.3t) cargo and has a range of 1150-1550 km (48 pax) depending on the version. The ATR-42 is versatile and represented worldwide wherever there are small airfields. A STOL variant is currently being built with the ATR-42-600S, which can be used for runways around 800 m. The ATR-42 can also be used on natural runways.

ATR-42-300: 16.7t (1985)
ATR-42-320: 16.7t (Hot and High variant) (1987)
ATR-42-500: 18.6t (1995)
ATR-42-600: 18.6t (2007)
The ATR-72 is an extended variant of the ATR-42 and was launched in 1988. The ATR-72 can carry up to 74 passengers or up to 7.7t of cargo (9.3t as cargo version) and has a range of 1250-1400 km (66 pax.) similar to its smaller sister.

ATR-72-500: 22.8t (1997)
ATR-72-600: 22.8t (2011)
Both the ATR-42 and ATR-72 are controlled via control cables, so the pilots have the full feeling of flying combined with the latest technology. Both models also have a cargo door as standard. Military variants of both models are also available.
The ATR-42/72 is the world's most widely used turboprop passenger aircraft.
