This is the last of the bullets NYC Reloader sent me. I am using Varget and groups were a lot better today. I will most likely be picking up this mould in the very near future.

243 Outdoors if you want to piss off a grizzly these cast .223 bullets will do it. Then I’d advise something bigger to deal with said angry grizzly bear.

I've had great success with blc2 and benchmark with 55gr jacketed bullets... good video

Interesting I had good luck with h110 I believe I have a video on that. However I was running a 20” AR with a faxon match barrel. With that said I experience the exact same thing. No consistency at all whatsoever sometimes I would get a great group. I would come back and do the exact same load and it would be all over the target.

I find it’s really about finding the right powder for sure. The bullets themselves work great once you find the rightload. I use cfe 223 which is a slow powder and I do not crimp my bottle neck cases. I’ve had great results it’s just takes a bit of patience to find your sweet spot.

Yes, i agree. I quit crimping after my first batch. Someone also asked it they will function in a AR, so stay tuned for that.

243 Outdoors yeah these will shoot great in an AR. I try to always work my loads up via bolt action rifle then shoot them on my AR once I know I’ve removed the issues from the load. I like the repeatability of a bolt action rifle over an AR any day. IMHO

Absolutely. I told Bacon one time, Varget is like Unique. Very universal and will work in just about anything.

The cast bullets are a totally different animal. Hopefully now that I can make them I can figure out a great shooting load.

I said I wouldn't do any casting until winter, and I just picked up my second mould, and half my lead is gone. As UJ would say "Typical."

I really don't know too much about shooting the cast .224 dia bullets. I plan to put to work some loadings with the .303 British later on, I also would like to shoot some .30 cal out of my 7.5 Swiss.

We had a 303 a coupe years ago, but traded it off. It's crazy what those are worth now days.

Yeah, i hand picked the bullets for that group. That might of helped it a little bit.

No I haven't. Thought about it last summer but didn't want to waste primers on them.

@@243Outdoors Thanks for the info. I’m trying to work out a good load for my AR it has a 1-8 and for my TC encore that has a 1-12 so any information is valuable thanks.
