I think the only illegal part would be “brandishing a weapon in public”. So long as you had your proper FFL license to own a machine gun, nothing says you can’t hold it and shoot it at the range.
@@exterminater267 Actually technically speaking according to the definitions set forth by the ATF this isn't a machine gun and doesn't require any special licenses to own last I checked. Something about it being a gun with multiple barrels means that technically it isn't a repeating weapon or something. It's perfectly legal for any civilian in the united states to even own a full size m134 so long as they could afford it. Love this country sometimes.
@@samuelschurman3762 the ATF made a *specific* ruling on the m134 minigun in 2004 that the firearm as designated is in fact a machine gun. the initial blurb in the ruling document is "The 7.62mm Aircraft Machine Gun, identified in the U.S. military inventory as the "M-134" (Army), "GAU-28/A" (Air Force), and "GAU-17/A" (Navy), is a machinegun as defined by 26 U.S.C. 5845(b). Rev. Ruf. 55-528 modified." followed by two-ish pages of further explanation and elaboration. As long as you find a transferrable one and pay the tax stamp though, yeah, legal. As for this item? as long as this is a *conversion* from previously registered machine guns, also legal. I have not looked into the legality of manually cranked gatlings but I would presume that if the ATF specifically looked at this electrically actuated one, they'd call it a machine gun. Still cool.
Yea. The cheap ammo part kinda makes that an awesome one to make. If it was 5.56 or 308 that would have been 2000$ instead of 100$. That makes it pretty fun.
@@jedeckert9525 u could defenitely built a electric system urself for a couple hundred bucks and with way more power / speed! But 4,5k is still an insane price. We need more companys making gatling guns, so the prices drop p.s. imagine this but the motor is an actual petrol engine
@TopShotDustin I need the auto loader for the belts. Can't wait for that to come about and be sold. 250 round belt takes a bit of time at the range. With the hand crank and looping the belt back together through the auto loader, with a dump funnel for the ammo would be glorious.
I can tell you from personal experience that with a mounted 50 cal MG you can take down a tree in under 30 seconds. Almost got me busted back down to E1 at that time, thankfully I was only a E3 :)
The most amazing part of this is that there weren't any failure to fires. I was expecting that thing to stop firing every 3 seconds with how inconsistent .22 LR is most of the time lol
i've been noticing even the cheaper stuff is way more reliable nowdays. went through an entire box of remington thunderbolt with only a single failure to fire.
I love the logistics of being able to power this machine gun with milwaukee batteries you can get at your local store. Genius idea. This should be scaled up. Imagine if you could power your own 5.56 minigun with lead acid car batteries.
